The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WisDHS) is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of Wisconsin responsible for maintaining public health. It administers a wide range of services in the state and at state institutions, regulates hospitals and care providers, and supervises and consults with local public health agencies. Its responsibilities include public health; mental health and substance abuse; long-term support and care; services to people with disabilities, medical assistance, and children’s services; aging programs; physical and developmental disability services; blindness disability programs; operation of care and treatment facilities; quality assurance programs; nutrition supplementation programs; medical assistance; and health care for low-income families, elderly, and the disabled.It has primary responsibility for administering Medicaid and Medicare within the state. The DHS secretary is a cabinet member appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin and confirmed by the Wisconsin Senate. The Wisconsin DHS is made up of three executive offices and five divisions organized according to function. WisDHS's main office is located in Madison, and it maintains regional offices throughout the state.

Monona Terrace (officially the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center) is a convention center on the shores of Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Madison Municipal Building, also known as the United States Post Office and Federal Courthouse, is a historic government building at 215 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Madison, Wisconsin. Built in 1927-29, the building was Madison's tenth main post office and the second courthouse for the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin; it replaced an 1867 building which had also served as both post office and courthouse. James A. Wetmore, the Supervising Architect of the United States Treasury Department at the time, designed the Neoclassical building; the Neoclassical style was commonly used for post offices in the early twentieth century. The building has a limestone exterior with a two-story Ionic colonnade on its front facade, a central entrance with three doorways, and a cornice and parapet at its roof. When the post office relocated in 1980, the City of Madison moved its offices into the building and renamed it the Madison Municipal Building; the district court also relocated later in the 1980s.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 2002.

The Bellevue Apartment Building is an upscale early apartment building located just south of the capitol in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was completed in 1914 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 13, 1987.

The Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau (LRB) is a nonpartisan agency that provides legal advice, legislative drafting services, and public policy research and analysis to the Wisconsin Legislature, and reference services to the legislature, state agencies, and the public. The LRB staff is responsible for nearly all drafting of legislation in Wisconsin, operating at the request of legislators and state agencies. LRB staff also maintain and update the official Wisconsin statutes and the rules of the legislature. LRB publishes the biennial report of laws passed at each session of the legislature and the biennial report of the state government, the Wisconsin Blue Book. In addition, the LRB operates a legislative library, and provides research and library services to the general public. The Wisconsin Legislature's Joint Committee on Legislative Organization acts as the governing body overseeing the Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau and selects the director, who employs and oversees all bureau staff. The director is Richard A. Champagne.

The Dane County Courthouse is a courthouse located in the city of Madison in Dane County, Wisconsin. The eight story low-rise early-modernism building, finished in 2005, required 16 years of planning and construction as well as $44 million to complete and was the first "green" building constructed by the County of Dane. In 2013 the probate division of the court became paperless, and in 2016 the remainder of the courthouse followed.

The Baskerville Apartment Building is an early apartment constructed in 1913 in Madison, Wisconsin, two blocks south of the capitol. In 1988 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Jackman Building is located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) is an agency of the Wisconsin state government which provides a range of services and programs, from operations, technology, and logistical support for the state, to assistance programs for low-income homes, to state gaming. The department's services to other state agencies and offices include personnel management, payroll, accounting systems, technology solutions, and legal services. The Department is central to the state budget process, advising the Governor and state agencies on their budget submissions and analyzing solutions to fiscal problems. The Department also administers state information systems, procurement policies and contracts, fleet transportation, and risk management, and oversees buildings owned and leased by the state, facilities planning projects, and the Wisconsin Capitol Police. The Department is headquartered in the Wisconsin Administration Building in Madison, Wisconsin. Kathy Koltin Blumenfeld is the current Secretary of the Department of Administration, appointed by Governor Tony Evers on January 18, 2022.

The Wisconsin Ethics Commission is a regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin which administers and enforces Wisconsin law pertaining to ethics and lobbying.

The Christian Dick Block is a historic commercial building located at 106 East Doty Street in Madison, Wisconsin. The building was constructed in 1889 for liquor wholesaler Christian Dick. The prominent Madison architectural firm of Conover & Porter designed the Richardsonian Romanesque style building; it is one of the city's earliest extant examples of both the firm's work and the style. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Hans Christian Heg is a statue by Paul Fjelde that was cast in 1925 and installed at the Wisconsin State Capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin, United States in 1926. The bronze statue depicting the Union soldier and abolitionist Hans Christian Heg was torn down by rioters, decapitated and thrown into a lake in June 2020. The Wisconsin state government restored and reinstalled the original statue in September 2021. Two further casts of the statue were made in 1925: one stands in Heg Memorial Park, in Racine County, Wisconsin, near the Heg family home, and the other in Haugestad, near the family's home town in Norway.
