Maskowski District

Partyzanski District (Belarusian: Партызанскі, Russian: Партизанский) is an administrative subdivision of the city of Minsk, Belarus. It was named after the Soviet partisans and is the lesser populated district of the city.

It was formed in 1938 under the name Stalin district (Russian: Сталинский) and The "Factory district" was named in 1961 after the plants "Minsk Tractor Works" (MTZ) and "Minsk Automobile Plant" (MAZ) were constructed. Within current borders the district is approved on 10 November 1997 when the township "Sosny" was officially added to it.

The Drazdy conflict (sometimes spelled Drozdy) was a July 1998 incident involving the Government of Belarus and diplomats from other nations. It began with the leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, declaring the Drazdy Complex as property of the government and shutting it down for repairs. The Drazdy Complex housed several diplomats from various nations, including several Western nations. Though Lukashenko tried to negotiate a situation with Western powers, such as France and Germany, by appointing Uladzimir Herasimovich for talks, the situation was not solved in time. In protest of the incident, the US temporarily recalled its ambassador, Daniel V. Speckhard, who spent one year back in Washington before returning to Belarus. One of the results of the incident was that the European Union issued Lukashenko and approximately 130 other government officials with travel bans that prevented them from traveling to fourteen of the then-fifteen EU states. This also began to lead the United States and non-EU states to issue similar bans (the United States has an exemption for visits to the United Nations headquarters in New York City, New York by the banned officials). According to ITAR-TASS and BelaPAN, the Drazdy Complex is now used as a residence for the president and the evicted diplomats were given new locations in Minsk.

Football Manege is a multi-use indoor arena in Minsk, Belarus. It is mostly used for football matches as well as for tennis competitions. The Manege holds 3,000 people and was opened in December 2002.

University is an institution in the field of physical education, sports and tourism in the Republic of Belarus offering preparatory, high and post-graduate levels of training. There are 160 World and European champions among the University students and graduates.

The fifth inauguration of Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus took place on November 6, 2015. The ceremony was held in the Independence Palace in Minsk for the first time. President Lukashenko was inaugurated in the presence of over 1,000 invited guests, who will include top government officials, members of both chambers of the parliament, all kinds of executives, and foreign guests. Presidential elections were held in Belarus on 11 October 2015. Incumbent president Alexander Lukashenko was re-elected for a fifth term in office, with 83.47% of the vote.
