Haughton, Greater Manchester

St Anne's Church in Haughton, Denton, Greater Manchester, England, is a Grade I Listed Building. The foundation stone was laid on the 1st September 1880 and the church was finally completed on the 29th July 1882. The building was designed by J. Medland Taylor and the construction was funded by E. Joseph Sidebotham, a member of the Sidebotham mill-owning family of Hyde. The church was built in brick in the Gothic Revival style, but also utilised timber framing.It has been described as the best-known work of the architects, an 'extraordinary free-form brick church that forms the nucleus of the most important cluster of their buildings' surviving. The lychgate and rectory that adjoin the main church are also of architectural significance, and each is on the register of protected buildings in its own right.

St Lawrence's Church in Denton (grid reference SJ92639506) is a timber-framed church and a Grade II* listed building; it is one of only 29 surviving timber framed churches and chapels in England. The chapelry of Denton was established in 1531 with the construction of the chapel of ease, then Roman Catholic in the Diocese of Lichfield and dedicated to St James.The church was rededicated to St Lawrence in 1839 and became a parish church in 1854. In 1872, the church was expanded and remodelled by J Medland Taylor and Henry Taylor. The church features sixteenth century stained glass. The church was restored between 1993 and 2003, funded by Tameside MBC. Further restoration began in 2009.

Following its designation as a high performing specialist college it was awarded a second specialism in Applied Learning in 2008 and awarded Leading Edge status in 2010.

Denton Town Hall is a municipal building in the Market Street, Denton, Greater Manchester, England. The town hall is the meeting place of Denton Town Council and is also used as a public library.

Wood Mill was a mill located by the River Tame in Stockport, Cheshire. Originally built in the early to mid 19th century and used as a bone mill. After 1848 the building was converted to a woollen mill and was rebuilt in 1864. In the 1930s, the building was used for colour and chemical manufacturing and demolished in 1964. The remains of the building are located on the bend of Lambeth Grove, Woodley between Wellington Works (occupied by Morrells Woodfinishes) and Riverside Kennels.

They are currently members of the North West Counties League Division One South, the tenth tier of English football, and play at Stockport Sports Village. Denton Urban District was a local government district in England from 1894 to 1974. Denton was originally a township in the ancient parish of Manchester in the Salford Hundred of Lancashire. In 1866 it became a civil parish in its own right. The Denton parish was expanded on 31 December 1894 by gaining the former area of Haughton;. The Local Government Act 1894 created the urban district of Denton in the administrative county of Lancashire which consisted of the whole of the enlarged civil parish. There were minor boundary changes in 1933 and 1937 with the Manchester and Stockport county boroughs which did not affect any population. In 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, the assets and area of the district were transferred to the newly created metropolitan borough of Tameside.

Hyde Central railway station is the main station serving Hyde, Greater Manchester, England. Originally simply Hyde, it was built by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, opening in 1858 as a branch from its main line through Penistone to Sheffield. From 1862, the branch was extended to New Mills to meet the Midland Railway's extension of its line from Millers Dale. For a while, it saw Midlands expresses from London. In 1875, however, a new more direct route was built through Bredbury. The substantial station buildings were demolished in 1980, with a new booking office at street level commissioned in their place. Hyde is also served by Hyde North, on the same line as Hyde Central, and by Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde and Godley on the electrified Manchester to Glossop/Hadfield line.
