Villapizzone

Milano Villapizzone is a surface railway station in Milan, Italy and serves the suburb of Villapizzone. It opened in 2002 as part of the Milan Passante railway. It is located on Via Arnaldo Fusinato. The station, together with Bovisa station, also serves the Bovisa campus of the Politecnico di Milano. The train services are operated by Trenord.

Quartiere Campo dei Fiori is a small district in Milan, Italy. The district measures 400 by 300 meters (1,310 by 980 ft). It is located in the north-western outskirts of the city, and is a part of Zone 8. The name is derived from a village ("villaggio") that arose in the early 1900s in the uncultivated area between Villapizzone and Ghisolfa. To the east, the district is bounded by the railway between Milano Porta Garibaldi and Milano Certosa. The district also marks the border with Bovisa, and represents the dividing line between Zone 8 and Zone 9.

The War Memorial of Musocco commemorates the fallen of old town of Musocco during the First World War. Musocco incorporated in Milan in 1923. It's located in Piazzale Santorre di Santarosa into Quartiere Varesina covering all the four directions of the square, and it's clearly visible along Viale Espinasse. The monument was inaugurated in 1924 and is the work of Ugo Prat. It stands on a plinth surmounted by an iron crown while in the west and east stand two statues of women in marble. On the base two bas-reliefs in bronze complete the work. A bed surrounds the monument and on it, under the statues, two commemorative stones list the names of the fallen. In 2008, after the plaques with the names of the fallen had become illegible, the monument was restored.

Milano Bovisa is a railway station in Bovisa, Milan, Italy. It opened in 1879 and is now one of the key nodes of the Milan suburban railway service, and of the Trenord regional network in northern Lombardy. It is located in Piazza Emilio Alfieri.The station serves the Bovisa neighborhood, in the northwestern part of the Milan municipality, and in particular the Bovisa Campus of the Politecnico di Milano, the biggest technical university in Italy. The station is served by lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S12, and S13 of the Milan suburban railway service, by the Milan–Asso, Milan–Saronno–Como, Milan–Saronno–Novara and Milan–Saronno–Varese–Laveno regional lines, and by the Malpensa Express.

The Alfa Romeo Portello Plant in Portello Milan, Italy was the first Alfa Romeo factory, and the main factory between 1908 and the 1960s. The factory was closed in 1986 following FIAT's buyout of Alfa Romeo, but all major production had already been transferred 20 years earlier to the Alfa Romeo Arese Plant. The history of the factory is primarily involved in automobile manufacture, but over the years other products were manufactured as well.

Milano Certosa is a surface railway station in Milan, Italy. The station is on the north-west part of the city between the Quarto Oggiaro and Musocco neighborhoods. Its name comes from the Certosa di Garegnano. The station is located on Via Antonio Mambretti. The train services are operated by Trenord. The station is the oldest still operating in Milan, and the only one established by the Austrian Empire before the unification of Italy.

Ghisolfa is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 8 administrative division of the city, located north-west of the city centre. It is named after the "Ghisolfa Bridge" ("Ponte della Ghisolfa") overpass, part of the external Circonvallazione ring road enclosing the centre of Milan. In turn, the bridge was named after two cascine (farm houses), "Cascina Ghisolfa" and "Cascina Ghisolfetta", that existed in the area before the urbanization of the mid 20th century. The bridge was completed in 1941, prolonged in the 1960s, and enlarged in the 1990s. Ghisolfa is a small district that used to be an industrial area and is now mainly residential, much like the adjacent Bovisa district. It is traversed by two railways, respectively operated by Ferrovie dello Stato and Ferrovie Nord Milano. The district is usually considered a symbol of the proletarian Milan, as low-income housing (especially "ALER" buildings) is prevalent. In recent years, it has also become one of the Milanese multi-ethnic districts. The anarchist circle of Giuseppe Pinelli and Pietro Valpreda, eponymously called "Circolo Anarchico Ponte della Ghisolfa", had its headquarters in this district.

Garegnano is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 8 administrative division of the city, north-west of the city centre. Before being annexed to Milan, it has been an autonomous comune, originally known as Garegnano Marcido. The prominent landmark of the Garegnano district is the Garegnano Charterhouse, founded in 1349. The main street of the area is Viale Certosa (named after the Charterhouse, "Certosa" in Italian), which crosses the district from south-east to north-west, passing nearby the Charterhouse and ending up to the Cimitero Maggiore, Milan's largest cemetery. Viale Certosa is almost parallel to Via Gallaratese, which marks the boundary between Garegnano and the Gallaratese district. Viale Certosa is an important thoroughfare for Milanese traffic, as it is one of the access points to the Tangenziale ring road and to the motorways.

Bovisa (Western Lombard: [buˈʋiːza], Italian: [boˈviːza]) is a district (quartiere) of Milan, Italy, located north of the city center, in the Zone 9. The name is supposedly derived from the Italian word bove, meaning ox, as the area developed from an ancient rural settlement.

It is located between the Ferrovie Nord railway and the Politecnico university buildings, adjacent to the district of Bovisa; it is named after the "Bovisasca" road leading to Bovisa.

Quarto Oggiaro (Italian pronunciation: [ˈkwarto odˈdʒaːro]; Lombard: Quart Oggiee [ˈkwɑːrt uˈdʒeː]) is a district of Milan in the north-west of the city. It belongs to Zone 8, and has a population of 35000 inhabitants.

The Zone 8 of Milan, since 2016 officially Municipality 8 of Milan, (in Italian: Zona 8 di Milano, Municipio 8 di Milano) is one of the 9 administrative divisions of Milan, Italy.It was officially created as an administrative subdivision during the 1980s. On 14 April 2016, in order to promote a reform on the municipal administrative decentralization, the City Council of Milan established the new Municipality 8, a new administrative body responsible for running most local services, such as schools, social services, waste collection, roads, parks, libraries and local commerce.The zone lays on the north-western part of the city.
