Hillsborough County is located in the west-central portion of the U.S. state of Florida. In the 2020 census, the population was 1,459,762, making it the fourth-most populous county in Florida and the most populous county outside the Miami metropolitan area. A 2021 estimate has the population of Hillsborough County at 1,512,070 people with a yearly growth rate of 1.34%, which itself is greater than the populations of 12 states according to their 2019 population estimates. Its county seat and largest city is Tampa. Hillsborough County is part of the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Brandon Mall, formerly known as Brandon Town Center, Westfield Shoppingtown Brandon, and Westfield Brandon, is a shopping mall located eight miles (13 km) east of Tampa, Florida, in the suburban community of Brandon. The mall is owned by North American Development Group (U.S Headquarters in West Palm Beach, FL). Westfield Brandon is directly off Interstate 75, sitting on land between State Road 60 and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway.

Spoto High School is a public high school located in Riverview, Hillsborough County, Florida, serving the communities of Progress Village and Clair-Mel. It operates as a part of the Hillsborough County Public Schools system. It opened in August 2006, with the main purpose of the school to relieve overcrowding at Riverview High School, also located in Riverview, and East Bay High School in nearby Gibsonton. It also pulled students from Brandon High School and Bloomingdale High School. The school population for 2008-2009 was 1,460 students.

The library offers computer training classes for children, teens, and adults, as well as community and study rooms available for public use. The Riverview Public Library has a recording studio, 2 creative content rooms, a makerspace, and a 'makeryspace' for children. The Friends of the Riverview Library manage the book store in the library.

The Moseley Homestead (also known as The Nest) is a historic home in Brandon, Florida. Built in 1886 it is located at 1820 West Brandon Boulevard. On January 31, 1985, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Progress Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 11,188.

Peru, Florida was a town in Hillsborough County, Florida, that was later absorbed into Riverview. It was initially settled in 1843 on the South bank of the Alafia River at what is now US Highway 301 by Benjamin Moody and others who came to claim land under the "Armed Occupation Act of Florida" which was passed in 1842 and granted 160 acres of land to any head of family or any single man who would bear arms and live on the land in a house for five years. The name was pronounced "Pe-Roo", as Peru was a native name meaning "straight part of the river". The town existed for almost 100 years before being absorbed into Riverview in the 1940s.Prior to the occupation by white settlers, the area was inhabited by a Timucuan group known as the Mocoso.In the 1800s, the Peruvian Mining Company mined phosphate in the area. A post office was established in 1879, closing in 1900 with the mail being routed through the Riverview post office. In 1900, Hillsborough County contracted Virginia Bridge and Iron of Roanoke, Virginia to build a bridge between Peru and Riverview at a cost of $7,864.00, replacing the ferry. The bridge was constructed with the ironwork of the Lafayette Street bridge in Tampa.

Riverview is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is located south of Brandon. The population was 107,396 in the 2020 census, up from 71,050 in the 2010 census. Many of Tampa Bay's radio and television stations broadcast from an antenna farm in the Riverview area, on Boyette Road, east of town. Riverview is home to Bell Creek Nature Preserve.

The Ice Sports Forum is the official practice facility of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, who won the Stanley Cup in 2004, 2020, 2021. The facility contains two NHL regulation rinks and a state-of-the-art laser tag arena. It is located in Brandon, Florida. The ISF opened in the fall of 1997. Apart from hosting many figure skating and high school hockey events, the Ice Sports Forum is also home to the USF Ice Bulls, an ACHA Division III hockey club. In 2001, the forum's No Bull adult ice hockey team won the USA Hockey Adult 30+ National Championship. A picture of the team can be found on practically every wall, a practice facilitated by the Hockey Director John Finnie. Finnie, as the locals call him, boasted a 5.98 GAA through 10 seasons as a bottom half back-up goaltender. On June 29, 2017, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced that Lightning owner and chairman Jeff Vinik will invest $6 million in the Ice Sports Forum to create a brand new locker room and training facilities for the team. The Ice Sports Forum will also be investing $500,000 into the project. The expansion will be an 18,000-square foot addition. This is an increase over the current 5,500-square foot facility there. The expansion is also larger than the facility at Amalie Arena, which is approximately 14,500 square feet. The new addition will feature all team spaces including locker room, weight room, training room, dedicated press room, and expanded player lounge and more. It also will feature amenities that are not currently available at the team's arena, including hydrotherapy facilities and a video room/theater. The upgrades will be adding a new rink dasher system for the North Rink. The team also announced that it had signed a new lease agreement with the Ice Sports Forum for 10-years, which will run through the 2026–27 season.

Limona was an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County, Florida. It existed by that name from about 1876 to about the 1963, when it became part of the unincorporated town of Brandon, Florida.

Brandon High School is a public high school in Brandon, Florida, United States. It is overseen by the School District of Hillsborough County.

Brandon Academy Private School, or simply "Brandon Academy" or "BA," is a coeducational private day school located on a 10-acre (40,000 m2) campus in Brandon, Florida. The school was founded in 1970. According to The Tampa Times, Brandon Academy's initial growth was from white parents seeking to avoid enrolling their children in racially integrated public schools.As of February 2018, the school occupies ten buildings, including four school buildings, an office building, an auditorium and Gym, and four portable structures.
