Horsley is a small village and civil parish in Northumberland, England. The village lies around 11 miles (18 km) from Newcastle upon Tyne and 12 miles (19 km) from Hexham. Nearby villages include Heddon-on-the-Wall, Ovingham, Ovington and Wylam.

Harlow Hill is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Stamfordham, in Northumberland, England. In 1951 the parish had a population of 61.Harlow Hill lies on the line of Hadrian's Wall, and is the site of Milecastle 16. The Military Road also passes by the village. Harlow Hill was historically a township in the ancient parish of Ovingham. It became a separate civil parish in 1866. The civil parish was abolished on 1 April 1955, when it was merged with other parishes to create the civil parish of Stamfordham.

Milecastle 16 (Harlow Hill) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. The milecastle is located at Harlow Hill, Northumberland. There are no visible surface remains of the milecastle or either of its associated turrets.

Milecastle 14 (March Burn) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains exist as a low (maximum 0.4 metres (1.3 ft) on the west side) platform, south of the B6318 Military Road and about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west of the road junction at Rudchester Farm.

Royal Air Force Ouston or more simply RAF Ouston is a former Royal Air Force station that was located near the village of Stamfordham and the village of Heddon-on-the-Wall on Hadrian's Wall near Newcastle upon Tyne. It was built as a Second World War aerodrome and is today used by the British Army. Just north of the airfield is Richmond Hill, Northumberland, in the parish of Stamfordham.

Rudchester Mithraeum is a Roman temple to the Roman god Mithras at Rudchester (Vindobala), an auxiliary fort on Hadrian's Wall, the northern frontier of Roman Britain. The temple (known as a mithraeum) was located 137m to the west of the castra. It is not currently visible to visitors to the site.

Vindobala (Brytonnic Celtic : windo- fair, white, bala place, situation?, cf. Old Irish bal, bail place, situation, condition, good luck) was a Roman fort with the modern name, and in the hamlet of, Rudchester, Northumberland. It was the fourth fort on Hadrian's Wall, and situated about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) to the west of Condercum (Benwell) fort and 7.5 miles east of Halton Chesters fort. The site of the fort is bisected by the B6318 Military Road, which runs along the route of the wall at that point.

Ouston is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Stamfordham, in the county of Northumberland, England. In 1951 the parish had a population of 13.Ouston lies near the course of Hadrian's Wall, probably the most noted Roman monument in Britain.

Ovingham Bridges are a pair of side-by-side vehicle and pedestrian bridges across the River Tyne linking Ovingham and Prudhoe in Northumberland, England. Following a lengthy refurbishment programme by Northumberland County Council, Ovingham Bridge re-opened to vehicles on 5 September 2016. The vehicle bridge is a single track of reduced width for cars and light vans only. There is no footpath; pedestrians use the separate footbridge that runs alongside and with the same deck level. The centre piers are set wider, allowing the deck to spread and two vehicles can pass, although this is rare. No traffic controls are installed; drivers observe the far end and wait or enter the bridge using a set of unwritten rules that usually function well.

Ovingham is a civil parish and village in the Tyne Valley of south Northumberland, England. It lies on the River Tyne 10 miles (16 km) east of Hexham with neighbours Prudhoe, Ovington, Wylam and Stocksfield. The River Tyne provided an obstacle between Ovingham and Prudhoe until 20 December 1883, when a toll bridge (Ovingham Bridge) was finally opened, taking the place of the ferry. The steel tubes are marked Dorman Long Middlesbrough, the firm which designed and built the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Tyne Bridge.
