Vindobala

Rudchester Mithraeum is a Roman temple to the Roman god Mithras at Rudchester (Vindobala), an auxiliary fort on Hadrian's Wall, the northern frontier of Roman Britain. The temple (known as a mithraeum) was located 137m to the west of the castra. It is not currently visible to visitors to the site.

Milecastle 14 (March Burn) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains exist as a low (maximum 0.4 metres (1.3 ft) on the west side) platform, south of the B6318 Military Road and about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west of the road junction at Rudchester Farm.

Milecastle 13 (Rudchester Burn) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains exist as a low platform south of the B6318 Military Road.

North Wylam railway station served the village of Wylam, Northumberland, England from 1876 to 1968 on the Tyne Valley Line.

The Betfred British Masters is a professional golf tournament. It was founded in 1946 as the Dunlop Masters and was held every year up to 2008, except for 1984. Dunlop's sponsorship ended in 1982, and the name sponsor changed frequently thereafter, with the words "British Masters" usually also in the tournament's official name. The tournament was not held from 2009 to 2014 but returned to the schedule in 2015.

Close House is a country estate near Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland. The estate contains a Grade II* listed former mansion house, which is currently a private residence, and Close House Golf Club.

Wylam is a village and civil parish in the county of Northumberland. It is located about 10 miles (16 km) west of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is famous for the being the birthplace of George Stephenson, one of the early railway pioneers. George Stephenson's Birthplace, his cottage, can be found on the north bank of the Tyne 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) east of the village centre. It is owned by the National Trust but is not open to the public in 2021 on account of COVID-19.Wylam has further connections with the early railway pioneers. The steam locomotive engineer Timothy Hackworth, who worked with Stephenson, was also born here. William Hedley who was born in the nearby village of Newburn attended the village school. He later went on to design and manufacture Puffing Billy in 1813, two years before George Stephenson produced his first locomotive Blücher. Christopher Blackett as lord of the manor in the first 30 years of the 19th century provided the entrepreneurial drive that encouraged these engineers.

Wylam Bridge is a road bridge in Northumberland, England linking the residential area of North Wylam and neighbouring villages of Heddon-on-the-Wall, and Horsley with the railway station in South Wylam as well as west Gateshead, including the villages of Ryton and Crawcrook.

Horsley is a small village and civil parish in Northumberland, England. The village lies around 11 miles (18 km) from Newcastle upon Tyne and 12 miles (19 km) from Hexham. Nearby villages include Heddon-on-the-Wall, Ovingham, Ovington and Wylam.

Wylam is a railway station on the Tyne Valley Line, which runs between Newcastle and Carlisle via Hexham. The station, situated 9 miles 71 chains (9.89 mi; 15.9 km) west of Newcastle, serves the village of Wylam in Northumberland, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

George Stephenson's Birthplace is the 18th-century stone cottage home of rail pioneer George Stephenson. Located along the north bank of the River Tyne in the village of Wylam, Northumberland, the cottage is owned by the National Trust and until recently it was open to the public as a historic house museum. The house also featured exhibits about Stephenson's Rocket, an early steam locomotive. The Museum is no longer open to the public.The House was built circa 1750 and is a Grade II* listed building. When George Stephenson was born, in 1781, there would have been four families living in this humble two storey cottage.The house is accessible by bike and is a 0.4 mi (0.64 km) walk from the nearest car park.

Milecastle 15 (Whitchester) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains exist as a bold platform with robbed walls located on the southern side of the B6318 Military Road approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west of its crossing of the A69 road. It has not been excavated.
