The Sydney Markets are a group of wholesale and retail markets in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Sydney Markets are located in the Inner West locality of Flemington, New South Wales, 16 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. Flemington is part of the suburb of Homebush West, in the local government area of the Municipality of Strathfield. The market is the primary distribution hub of fresh produce, flowers and other food products for Sydney. The market has a wholesale sales section that caters to larger businesses and general sales to the public. The market is the central marketplace for Sydney's farmers to sell their products. It has a history dating back to 1788. The operator of the markets is Sydney Markets Limited, formerly the Sydney Markets Authority, but privatised in 1997. As well as the markets at Flemington, Sydney Markets Limited also operates the inner city Paddy's Market in Haymarket. Sydney Markets feature a number of divisions including Produce, Flowers, Growers, Fresh Food, Motor, Swap & Sell, Paddy's Markets and Sydney Markets Plaza.Paddy's Markets specialises in the sale of fruit, vegetables, fish, clothes, giftware and souvenirs to the general public. The Flower Market is the central provider of flowers to Sydney's florists. The Produce, Growers and Fresh Food Markets are the central provider to Sydney's grocery shops. The Swap & Sell market is a second hand market, where vendors set up a sales stand selling a range of second-hand goods. The Motor Market provides a site for private sellers to show their cars for sale. Sydney Markets Plaza features a supermarket, hotel, post office and many specialty shops below an office building. Sydney Markets (Flemington) has its own postcode, 2129, separate from the 2140 postcode used for the remainder of Homebush West.

Flemington railway station is located on the Main Suburban line, serving the Sydney suburb of Homebush West and the markets of Flemington. It is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington line services.

Homebush West or Flemington is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Homebush West is located 13 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Strathfield, with a small unpopulated area in Cumberland Council. The suburb is commonly referred to as Flemington, even in official contexts. This was the old official name of the suburb before the establishment of Sydney Markets in 1975. Subsequently, "Flemington" would become a district confined to the area occupied by the markets, whereas the suburb proper was renamed "Homebush West", after the suburb of Homebush to the east. Both the railway station and various organisations and businesses in the suburb still carry the name "Flemington", as do most residents still refer to the suburb by this name.

Homebush Boys High School, founded in 1936, is a public high school for boys. It is in Homebush, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Formerly a selective high school, in 2006 Homebush Boys was regarded as one of the academically best-performing comprehensive schools, and has, in the past, been ranked above selective schools on the Higher School Certificate results.The school has an enrolment of approximately 1208 students.

The Sydney International (formerly known as the Championship of New South Wales and New South Wales Open, with various title sponsors), formerly sponsored as the Apia International Sydney from 2012 to 2017, is a professional tennis tournament in Sydney, Australia. The tournament was played annually at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre in Sydney Olympic Park. It is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world, dating to 1885. The tournament did not take place 2020 and 2021 due to the ATP Cup tournament, and again in 2023 due to the United Cup. The Sydney International is the last noted as an ATP 250 point event on the men's tour and a WTA 500 event on the women's tour. The tournament is held annually in January immediately prior to the Australian Open as a lead up tournament as part of the Australian Open Series.

The Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre is a tennis and multi-purpose sports facility located within the Olympic Park in Homebush, in Sydney, Australia. The centre was built in 1999 and hosted the tennis events for the 2000 Summer Olympics. The venue hosted the Sydney International tournament from 2000 to 2019, the Sydney Tennis Classic in 2022, the ATP Cup in 2020 and 2022, and the United Cup since 2023. The main stadium in the centre is the Ken Rosewall Arena, which has a seating capacity of 10,500, and is capable of hosting multiple sports, including tennis and netball.

The 2016 Apia International Sydney was a joint 2016 ATP World Tour and 2016 WTA Tour tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts in Sydney, New South Wales. It was the 123rd edition of the tournament and took place at the NSW Tennis Centre in Sydney, Australia. It was held from 10 January through 16 January 2016 as part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year.

The Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre, also known as the State Hockey Centre of New South Wales is a multi-use stadium in Sydney, Australia. It was built in 1998 as part of Sydney Olympic Park sporting complex, having held matches for the field hockey events at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Its current capacity is 8,000 people, with seating capacity for 4,000. For the Sydney Olympic Games capacity was boosted to 15,000 through the use of temporary stands.

The New South Wales Hall of Champions is a museum at Australia Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales, Australia. The property is owned by State Sports Centre Trust (State Government). The museum's collection was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The State Sports Centre (known commercially as the Quaycentre) is a multi-use indoor arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was opened in November 1984. With a total of 3,854 fixed and retractable seats the main arena is a focal point of the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. An additional 1,152 portable seats can be accommodated on the floor level to bring seated capacity to 5,006.

Pippita railway station was a railway station on the former Abattoirs line in Sydney, New South Wales. The station opened on 4 October 1940 and closed on 20 October 1995. The Olympic Park line, which extends over the former Abattoirs branch, connects to the network on the Main South line at the site of the former station.Passenger services on the Abattoirs line were operated by CPH railmotors operating from Sandown via Lidcombe until November 1984. After this, Pippita (now as the terminus) was served by single-deck suburban electric trains known as "Red Rattlers". Pippita continued to be served by a sole daily service to Central until 20 October 1995, operated in its later days by a V set.Pippita station served the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation factory located in Lidcombe. Access the site of the former station was restricted following the Auburn Council sale of Pippita Street to Dairy Farmers. Since 2015, community groups such as the Sydney Alliance, EcoTransit Sydney, and Restore Inner West Line proposed the reconstruction of Pippita station as part of a new express service between Lidcombe and Central.
