Rainham Hall

St Helen and St Giles is a church and landmark of Rainham and is the oldest building in the London Borough of Havering (being Norman). The church retains many of its original features, for example the round-headed arches. It was founded by Richard de Lucy, the son-in-law of Henry II of England. de Lucy was also one of the instigators of the assassination of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170. Construction of the church took place between 1160 and 1170. The church was restored during the period of 1893–1906, using donations from the Freemasons, yet it is still thought to closely resemble its original condition.The Rectory Manor, also known as Parsonage Farm, was initially part of Rainham Manor, but in 1178 the King granted it to Lesnes Abbey, which owned it until the Dissolution of the Monasteries, when it was conveyed to Cardinal Wolsey. After Wolsey's fall the Rectory Manor fell to Sir Robert Southwell, and eventually to a group of five Londoners. In 1714 Rectory Manor was reunited with Jordans Manor by William Blackborrne of Hornchurch, who left the two manors to Lincoln's Inn barrister Levett Blackborne, grandson of Sir Richard Levett, Lord Mayor of London. On Levett Blackborne's death, the combined manor was sold to the Crosse family of Berwick manor, who owned it into the twentieth century, when it was broken up for development.

The Rainham War Memorial commemorates soldiers killed in both World Wars as well as civilian casualties of World War II.

Rainham railway station is on the London, Tilbury and Southend line, serving the town of Rainham in the London Borough of Havering, east London. Historically in the county of Essex, in official literature the station is sometimes shown as Rainham (Essex) in order to distinguish it from the station of the same name in Kent.It is 12 miles 54 chains (20.4 km) down the line from London Fenchurch Street and it is situated between Dagenham Dock to the west and Purfleet to the east. Its three-letter station code is RNM and it is within Travelcard zone 6. It was opened in 1854. The station and all trains serving it are currently operated by c2c.

As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Rainham significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming part of Hornchurch Urban District in 1934, and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. The economic history of Rainham is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to industry and manufacture and is now in a period of regeneration, coming within the London Riverside section of the Thames Gateway redevelopment area.

South Hornchurch is a locality to the south of Hornchurch in London Borough of Havering, east London. It is a suburban development situated 13.6 miles (21.8 km) east of Charing Cross. The area is a relatively recent addition, compared with the more mature suburbs in Havering. It was built on open farmland and the former site of RAF Hornchurch.

It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. At the 2010 general election parts formed the new seats of Hornchurch and Upminster; and Dagenham and Rainham.

Beam Park is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Havering. The ward was first used in the 2022 elections. It returns two councillors to Havering London Borough Council. The ward includes the eastern part of the new neighbourhood of Beam Park, Orchard Village and part of South Hornchurch.

Frog Island is a peninsula on the north bank of the River Thames in Rainham, London at grid reference TQ515805. It is used for vehicle storage in Ferry Lane Industrial Estate and for the mechanical biological treatment works building of the East London Waste Authority.

St John & St Matthews Church, South Hornchurch, is an Anglican parish church in South Hornchurch, London Borough of Havering, England.

The Brittons Academy (formerly Brittons School) is a mixed secondary school located in the Rainham area of the London Borough of Havering, England.The school first opened in 1952 as a bilateral Technical School for pupils aged 11 to 15. Technical students were transferred to the newly opened Abbs Cross Technical High School in 1958, and Brittons was redesignated as a coeducational secondary modern school. In 1973 the school was redesignated as a comprehensive school, and by 1981 the school was operating a sixth form for pupils aged up to 18. The sixth form provision was removed in 1990 due to local authority restructuring and Brittons became an 11-16 school. It gained Specialist Technology college status in 2001, and became a Foundation School in 2009. The Brittons Academy had an Ofsted report of "Good" in all categories following an inspection on 5/6 October 2022.

Since 1994, they have operated Tilda Foodservice, providing professional kitchens with a variety of uncooked dry and frozen rice products. The brand is now over 50 years old, selling a variety of product and not just their basmati rice but other varieties of dry rice, microwave convenience rice as well as a range of rice suitable for children. The company was purchased in 2014 by US group Hain Celestial. Hain Celestial Group sold the company to Spanish group Ebro Foods in August 2019.
