Amstelveen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɑmstəlˈveːn] (listen)) is a municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands, with a population of 92.353 as of 2022. It is a suburban part of the Amsterdam metropolitan area. The municipality of Amstelveen consists of the historical villages of Bovenkerk and Nes aan de Amstel. In addition, as well as Downtown Amstelveen (Dutch: Amstelveen stadshart), it contains the following neighbourhoods: Westwijk, Bankras-Kostverloren, Groenelaan, Waardhuizen, Middenhoven, Randwijk, Elsrijk and Keizer Karelpark. The name Amstelveen comes from the Amstel, a local river (as does the name Amsterdam) and veen, meaning fen, peat, or moor. Amstelveen houses the international headquarters of Dutch national airline KLM (although it is slated to leave for Schiphol in 2024) and KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms. The Cobra Museum is also located in Amstelveen.

Molen De Dikkert is a defunct restaurant located in a windmill in Amstelveen, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1983 and retained that rating until 1992.Restaurant De Dikkert went bankrupt in 1992. During the bankruptcy settlement, the restaurant, owned by Bob Goudsmit, was sold to Yen Ho Kai, who kept the restaurant running.Arjan van Dijk was head chef in the time of the Michelin stars.At present, the windmill houses restaurant De Jonge Dikkert, that is awarded a Bib Gourmand, since 1994.Restaurant Molen De Dikkert was housed in a former windmill. The windmill was originally built in 1672 in Zaandam, as a sawmill. In 1896, the mill was moved to Amstelveen and served there as a flour mill. In 1929, the windmill stopped its working life and slowly fell into disrepair. The mill got renovated in 1965 and was ready for action again in 1966.

Bovenkerk is a village in the municipality of Amstelveen in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Bovenkerk was part of the municipality of Nieuwer-Amstel until 1964, when it was absorbed in the newly-formed municipality of Amstelveen. It lies on the western side of Amstelveen and next to the Amsterdam Forest.

The Cobra Museum of Modern Art (Dutch: Cobra Museum voor Moderne Kunst) is an art museum in Amstelveen in the Netherlands. The collection of the museum consists of key works by artists associated with three art movements, Vrij Beelden (1945), Cobra (1948–1951), and Creatie (1950–1955). In addition, the museum organizes temporary exhibitions by national and international avant-garde artists.

The Amsterdamse Bos (English: Amsterdam Forest) is an English park or landscape park in the municipalities of Amstelveen and Amsterdam. Although most of the park is located in Amstelveen, the owner of the park is the City of Amsterdam. The park was mainly built in the early 1930s, mostly by the unemployment relief. Because of World War II interrupting the building process, the last tree was not planted until the 1970s. Annually, almost 4.5 million people visit the park, which has a size of 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) and is approximately three times the size of Central Park in New York City. It houses a number of animal parks, sporting clubs, rowing courses, gardens and remembrance monuments. Throughout the decades, the location has seen different gatherings, political manifestations and (i.a., free) concerts. These often took place on the so-called Vietnam Meadow. Despite extensive protests, this part was turned into a tennis venue in 1994. The park is bisected (but can not be reached by) the A9 motorway.

VRA Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, the home of VRA Amsterdam since 1939. It has a capacity of 7000 spectators and regularly plays host to the Netherlands home games in the World Cricket League, Intercontinental Cup and CB40.This ground was first used for international cricket when the Netherlands played New Zealand in 1978. It has hosted many One Day Internationals (ODIs) including a match in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, and the 2004 Videocon Cup between India, Pakistan and Australia. It was also used in the 1990 ICC Trophy, the first to be played outside England. VRA Cricket Ground has hosted some notable moments in Dutch cricket, including a three-run win for the Netherlands over an England XI that featured future England captains Alec Stewart and Nasser Hussain in 1989. In July 2006, the Netherlands played Sri Lanka in their first home ODI and the visitors scored 443/9 from their 50 overs, which then was the highest team total in ODI cricket.Located in Amsterdamse Bos, the main ground features a AAA standard turf wicket, while the second and third grounds have an artificial wicket and are used in the winter by Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club. The stadium hosted a One Day International (ODI) match during the 1999 Cricket World Cup, between South Africa and Kenya. It was hosted host Nepal's first ever ODI during their Netherlands tour in August 2018.England scored 498 runs against the Netherlands in June 2022, setting a new record for the highest-ever ODI team score.

The Hermann Wesselink College is a secondary school in Amstelveen, The Netherlands . The school is named after Hermann Wesselink, a school principal who died at an early age, soon after retirement. The motto of the school is; "A school where everybody is equal but nobody is the same". In 2022 the school has 1866 students. The school offers vmbo, havo, vwo (atheneum and gymnasium), and in recent years bilingual education (IB Diploma in English at A2 level). According to the "onderwijsinspectie", the Dutch school inspection, the results are what could be expected from these students.

Wagener Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for field hockey matches and hosted matches for the 1973 World Hockey Cup. The stadium holds 7,600 people. The complex has belonged to the Dutch Hockey Association ("Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond") since 1980. Its location is the Amsterdamse Bos in Amstelveen. It was built by the Amsterdam Hockey & Bandy Club to honour its president, Joop Wagener (1881–1945). The building was completed in 1938, one year before World War II came to Netherlands. During the 1970s it became clear that AHBC could no longer afford the stadium, which was eventually sold to the Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond. AHBC still has the first right to play in the stadium.In the past, the stadium has hosted the following major tournaments: Hockey World Cup in 1973, 2022 EuroHockey Nations Championship in 1983, 2009, 2017 Champions Trophy in 1982, 1987, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2011

Brink is a tram stop within the city of Amstelveen, Netherlands. The stop lies along tram line 25, which was dubbed the Amsteltram before it received its line number. It opened officially on 13 December 2020, unofficially 4 days earlier on 9 December.Brink was earlier a stop for metro line 51, a hybrid metro/sneltram (light rail) service that opened in 1990. Like a metro, the sneltram used high-level platforms. Metro line 51 service south of Amsterdam Zuid station was closed in 2019 to rebuild stations with lower platforms to accommodate the new low-floor trams for line 25.
