Dubeč

The Massacre in Běchovice occurred on 17 June 1848 at the train station in the village of Běchovice near Prague (now part of the city), in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). In the revolutionary year 1848, many of Prague's bourgeoisie decided to flee the city. Many of them fled by train. In those times, there was only one railway line that connected Prague with Vienna, by way of Česká Třebová and Olomouc, and Běchovice was the first station beyond Prague. Because of its location, General Windisch-Grätz chose Běchovice as a main centre for searches for rebels. Windischgraetz and his army searched each train, but they were not able to find any guns or rebels. Soon after 6 a.m., a train arrived full of students fleeing from Prague. It is not known what exactly happened. There was probably a minor skirmish between one of the passengers and some soldiers, but it grew to a massacre. Hussars attacked the train and slaughtered everyone on sight. Everyone was ordered to stay on the train, but the hussars pulled people out and killed them. Some of the passengers, mainly women and children, fled to the nearby train station building although it was under heavy fire. The exact number of those killed is not known, but there were over 100 heavily wounded passengers.

Dolní Počernice (German: Unter Potschernitz) is a municipal district (městská část) and cadastral area (katastrální území) in Prague. It is located in the eastern part of the city. As of 2008, there were 2,190 inhabitants living in Dolní Počernice. The first written record of Dolní Počernice is from the 14th century. The village became part of Prague in 1974.

Dolní Počernice is an architectural monument located at 1 Národních hrdinů street in Dolní Počernice, near the dike Počernický fishpond and a local English park. It is protected as a cultural monument of Czech Republic. Currently an orphanage is located there. Next to the castle is a small church from the 12th century, which originally was built in Romanesque style.

Dolní Měcholupy is a municipal district (městská část) and cadastral area (katastrální území) in Prague. It is located in the eastern part of the city. As of 2008, there were 1,788 inhabitants living in Dolní Měcholupy. The first written record of Dolní Měcholupy is from the 14th century. The village became part of Prague in 1968.

Běchovice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈbjɛxovɪtsɛ]) is a suburb of Prague, currently a municipal district in the administrative district Prague 21. It is located about 13 km east of the city centre. The main road and railway line connecting Prague and Kolín pass through Běchovice. The population as of 2008 was 4,038.First mentioned in 1228 in possession of St. George's Convent at Prague Castle, the village was incorporated into Prague in 1974. Běchovice railway station was the site of Massacre in Běchovice which happened on 17 June 1848. Today the location is domestically known mainly for the Běchovice – Prague Race, a mass attended 10 km run whose course follows the road from Běchovice towards Prague. It has been held in early autumn each year without interruption since 1897.

Prague 15 is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic. It is located in the south eastern part. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name comprises municipal districts Prague 15, Horní Měcholupy, Dolní Měcholupy, Dubeč, Petrovice and Štěrboholy.

Prague 22, also known as Uhříněves, is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic. It is located in the south eastern part of the city. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name comprises municipal districts Prague 22, Benice, Kolovraty, Královice and Nedvězí. Uhříněves is home to the largest freight railway container terminal in Central Europe.

Martiňák (or Čeněk) is a pond located in a cadastral area of Dolní Počernice in Prague, Czech Republic (in Nature park Klánovice-Čihadla). Its inflows are streams Chvalka and one no name stream. Runoff from the pond flows into Rokytka. The pond has irregular shape. There are Madarova street on the dam of the pond.

Petrovice (German Petrowitz) is a borough of Prague, Czech Republic. Petrovice is located in the south eastern part of the city. Petrovice is an independent municipality with its own city hall and city assembly. It is part of the Prague 15 administrative district. It has about 6,151 inhabitants. Petrovice used to be a village founded in the 13th century, while today it is an integrated part of Prague. There is a chateau here as well.

Hájek (full name Hájek u Uhřiněvsi) is a cadastral district of Prague, Czech Republic. In 2015 it had 618 inhabitants.

The Czech village of Štěrboholy was founded in 1371, and became part of Prague in 1968. Now it is its own cadastral area, part of the administrative district Prague 15. Its area is 2.97 km2, its population is 2,172 and its population density is 731 inhabitants / km2. Šterboholy became known during the Seven Years' War on 6 May 1757. That day was the Battle of Prague, where Frederick II the Great defeated the Austrian troops of Charles Alexander of Lorraine.

In the Battle of Prague or Battle of Štěrboholy, fought on 6 May 1757 during the Third Silesian War (Seven Years' War), Frederick the Great's 64,000 Prussians forced 61,000 Austrians to retreat, but having lost 14,300 men, decided he was not strong enough to attack Prague. The battle is mentioned in the famous German ballad Lenore written in 1773 by Gottfried August Bürger.
