Kiserian

Kiserian Dam is a water catchment project by the government of Kenya located in Kiserian Town, Keekonyokie Ward. The dam construction started in 2008 and ended in 2013. The dam has a height of 18 metres and a capacity of 1.8 million litres. The dam has a water treatment storage of 5000 m³ and was intended to serve over 253,000 residents. However, the dam cannot be used as it was poorly constructed and sited at a wrong location. It is currently of no benefit to residents. Kiserian dam relies on four seasonal rivers, two of which originate from Ngong Hills. This project was set up in order to overcome water challenges in Kajiado county and parts of Nairobi county by supplying 15,700 cubic metres of domestic water. It is under maintenance by Oloolaiser Water and Sewage Company who are also in charge of water and sewage treatment and supply.

Matasia is a settlement in Kenya's Rift Valley Province.

Oloolua Forest is an urban forest in the Karen area of Nairobi, Kenya. The forest, immediately adjacent to the Karen Blixen Farm, was gazetted in 1932 and is managed by the Kenya Forest Service. The forest is 618 hectares consisting of eight blocks separated by the Standard Gauge Railway and several road projects cutting through it. While less used by the public than the better-known Karura Forest, Oloolua is an increasingly popular walking and jogging destination in the Karen area of Nairobi.

Ngong Hills Wind Power Station, also Ngong Hills Wind Farm, is a wind-powered power station in Kenya.

On 10 June 2012, an aviation accident occurred involving a Kenya Police helicopter. The Eurocopter AS350 crashed on a hill, killing all six people on board. Among the fatalities were Kenya's Interior Security Minister George Saitoti and his Assistant Minister Joshua Orwa Ojode.

Choice Microfinance Bank, whose full name is Choice Microfinance Bank Kenya Limited or CMBKL, is a deposit-taking microfinance bank in Kenya, licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya, the national banking regulator.

The Giraffe Centre is located in Lang'ata, approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the centre of Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in order to protect the vulnerable giraffe, that is found only in the grasslands of East Africa. In 1979, the Giraffe Center, a nature sanctuary for visiting and including wildlife conservation education for urban school children, was started by Jock Leslie Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, when he and his wife Betty captured two baby giraffe to start a programme of breeding giraffe on their Langata property, site of the present Centre. Since then the programme has had huge success, resulting in the introduction of several breeding pairs of Rothschild Giraffe into Kenyan national parks. By 1983 enough money had been raised to establish the Giraffe Visitor's Center as a tourist destination just outside Nairobi. The main attraction for both school children and visitors is feeding giraffes from a raised observation platform. The Giraffe Center is also home to several warthogs which freely roam the area along with the giraffes.

Giraffe Manor is a small hotel in the Lang'ata suburb of Nairobi, Kenya which, together with its associated Giraffe Centre, serves as a home to a number of endangered Rothschild's giraffes, and operates a breeding programme to reintroduce breeding pairs back into the wild to secure the future of the subspecies.

Lang'ata is a predominantly middle-class residential suburb of Nairobi in Kenya. The suburb consists of many smaller housing developments, referred to as estates. They include Nairobi Dam, Otiende, Southlands, Ngei, Jambo estate, Onyonka, Madaraka Estate, Kutch Prant, Rubia, NHC Langata, Akiba, Sun Valley, Royal Park and many others. These developments are primarily maisonettes or apartment blocks.

The Karen Blixen Museum, located 10 km outside of Nairobi, Kenya, "at the foot of the Ngong Hills", is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen, famous for her 1937 book Out of Africa which chronicles life at the estate.

Ngong is a town near the Ngong Hills along the Great Rift Valley within Kajiado County, located in the southwest of Nairobi, in southern Kenya. The word "Ngong" is a Maasai word derived from the word "enkong'u" meaning both "the 'eye'" and "eye of water" or thus spring of water. The original place name is ɛnkɔŋʉ́ ɛ́ mʉny, literally the eye of the rhinoceros but functionally Rhinoceros Spring; an alternative name is ɔlchɔ́rrɔ ɛ́ mʉny (olchorro is a synonymn of enkong'u). Ngong is the anglicization of ɛnkɔŋʉ́. Seemingly the British found enkong'u e muñ too difficult to pronounce. A widespread false etymology is linked with the knuckle shape of the hills. The Ngong Hills, (known to the Maasai as 'Oloolaiser") from the eastside slopes, overlook the Nairobi National Park game reserve and, off to the north, the city of Nairobi. The Ngong Hills, from the westward slopes, overlook the Great Rift Valley dropping over 4,000 feet below, where nomadic Maasai live.
