The Kenya Open, currently titled as the Magical Kenya Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament in Kenya founded in 1967.

The Kenya Savannah Classic was a professional golf tournament that was held 23–26 March 2021 at Karen Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya. The principal sponsor was Absa Bank Limited.The tournament was intended to be a one-off event and created a two-week "Kenyan swing" with the Magical Kenya Open being played at the same location the week prior.Daniel van Tonder won the event, defeating Jazz Janewattananond in a playoff to claim his first European Tour victory.

The KCB Karen Masters was a golf tournament on the Sunshine Tour. It was first played in March 2017 as a 36-hole event. It was won by Wil Besseling, claiming the first prize of US$4,000. In 2018 it became a Sunshine Tour event. It is held at Karen Country Club, south-west of Nairobi, Kenya. It is sponsored by Kenya Commercial Bank.

Oloolua Forest is an urban forest in the Karen area of Nairobi, Kenya. The forest, immediately adjacent to the Karen Blixen Farm, was gazetted in 1932 and is managed by the Kenya Forest Service. The forest is 618 hectares consisting of eight blocks separated by the Standard Gauge Railway and several road projects cutting through it. While less used by the public than the better-known Karura Forest, Oloolua is an increasingly popular walking and jogging destination in the Karen area of Nairobi.

Lang'ata is a predominantly middle-class residential suburb of Nairobi in Kenya. The suburb consists of many smaller housing developments, referred to as estates. They include Nairobi Dam, Otiende, Southlands, Ngei, Jambo estate, Onyonka, Madaraka Estate, Kutch Prant, Rubia, NHC Langata, Akiba, Sun Valley, Royal Park and many others. Karen is a suburb of Nairobi in Kenya, lying south-west of Nairobi's central business district. The suburb of Karen borders the Ngong Forest and is home to the Ngong Racecourse. Karen and Langata jointly form a somewhat isolated area of mid to high-income residents.

The Giraffe Centre is located in Lang'ata, approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the centre of Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in order to protect the vulnerable giraffe, that is found only in the grasslands of East Africa. In 1979, the Giraffe Center, a nature sanctuary for visiting and including wildlife conservation education for urban school children, was started by Jock Leslie Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, when he and his wife Betty captured two baby giraffe to start a programme of breeding giraffe on their Langata property, site of the present Centre. Since then the programme has had huge success, resulting in the introduction of several breeding pairs of Rothschild Giraffe into Kenyan national parks. By 1983 enough money had been raised to establish the Giraffe Visitor's Center as a tourist destination just outside Nairobi. The main attraction for both school children and visitors is feeding giraffes from a raised observation platform. The Giraffe Center is also home to several warthogs which freely roam the area along with the giraffes.

The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) is a non-aligned, non-political, not-for-profit, pan-African learned society formed in 1985.The AAS elects fellows (FAAS) and affiliates. The AAS also awards the Obasanjo Prize for Scientific Discovery and Technological Innovation every two years to an outstanding scientist who contributed to the development of the continent.

Giraffe Manor is a small hotel in the Lang'ata suburb of Nairobi, Kenya which, together with its associated Giraffe Centre, serves as a home to a number of endangered Rothschild's giraffes, and operates a breeding programme to reintroduce breeding pairs back into the wild to secure the future of the subspecies.

The Nairobi Southern Bypass Highway is a road in Kenya, forming a semi-circle through the south-western neighborhoods of the capital city of Nairobi. The road allows traffic from Mombasa, destined for western Kenya and Uganda to bypass downtown Nairobi, thereby reducing traffic congestion in the city's central business district.
