Cowlairs railway station served the Cowlairs area of Glasgow, Scotland, from 1858 to 1964 on the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway.

The Cowlairs train collision was an 1850 rear-end collision that resulted in the deaths of five passengers.

It is situated north of the River Clyde, between central Springburn to the east and Possilpark to the west. Administratively, in the 21st century Cowlairs is divided by the Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk Line railway tracks (which played a crucial role in its history), with streets to the west of the lines falling under Glasgow City Council's Canal ward, and those to the east within the Springburn/Robroyston ward.

Springburn Public Halls was a public events venue on Millarbank Street in Springburn, part of Glasgow, Scotland. The building, which was derelict for three decades before being demolished in 2012, was a Category B listed building.

Ashfield Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the Possilpark area of north Glasgow. The club compete in the West of Scotland League Second Division and wear black and white hooped strips. Formed in 1886, they are based at Saracen Park, which they share with the Glasgow Tigers speedway team; it is located a short distance from Keppoch Park, home of neighbours Glasgow Perthshire. In October 2004, the club lost many historical records and strips as a result of a fire at Saracen Park. In July 2018 former Ashfield player Paul Maxwell took over as manager with former player Ryan Cairley taking over as assistant.

Saracen Park or Ashfield Stadium, also known as Peugeot Ashfield Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a stadium in Glasgow, Scotland. It is currently shared by Ashfield F.C. for football and the Glasgow Tigers for speedway. It has also previously been a venue for greyhound racing. The ground was originally opened for football in 1937.

Sighthill Cemetery is an active cemetery in central Glasgow, Scotland dating from 1840. It has an operational crematorium. It lies within the Sighthill neighbourhood on the A803 Springburn Road between Cowlairs Park and Petershill Park, north of Glasgow city centre, bounded to the north by Keppochhill Road.

Eastfield TMD was a railway traction maintenance depot situated in Glasgow, Scotland. Eastfield was a steam shed under British Railways with the depot code 65A; the diesel depot was coded as ED under the TOPS scheme from 1973.

Springburn Museum was set up in the reading room of the Springburn Library, Glasgow, Scotland, as the first independent community museum in the city, presenting material on the industrial heritage of the area.The Museum was opened by Tom Weir in 1986. It continued to provide a community based resource for historical reference throughout the 1990s. After encountering financial difficulties, the Museum closed in 2001. Subsequently, a more limited display in Springburn Library is complemented by an online entity.Plans for redeveloping Springburn Winter Gardens announced in 2020 would include some artefacts formerly exhibited at the Museum.

Glasgow Perthshire Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Possilpark, in the north of Glasgow. Nicknamed the Shire, they were formed on 7 November 1890 at the Waterloo Rooms in Glasgow and play at Keppoch Park, close to Saracen Park, home of Ashfield. They currently compete in the West of Scotland League Second Division and play in black and white stripes. Named after the Glasgow Perthshire Society, they were once one of the top junior sides in the country, but success has been scant in recent years. They pulled out of all competitive fixtures for the 2007–08 season, but re-entered for the 2008–09 season.
