Rancho El Chorro

The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located in the rolling hills of El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay in San Luis Obispo County, within the Central Coast of California region. Its grounds, when completed, will be a 150-acre (61 ha) collection of gardens displaying the diverse plant life of the five Mediterranean climate zones of the world; the Mediterranean Basin, and regions of California, Chile, Australia, and South Africa.

Rancho Huerta de Romualdo was a 117-acre (0.47 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day San Luis Obispo County, California given in 1842 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado and in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Romualdo. The name means Romualdo's vegetable garden. The grant between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, extended along Chorro Creek and encompassed Cerro Romauldo.

Cerro Romualdo is a 1,300-foot (396 m) mountain in San Luis Obispo County, California. The mountain is the fifth in a series of volcanic plugs called the Nine Sisters. Until 1964 the mountain was officially known as Romualdo Peak.The mountain is named for a Chumash man who received the 117-acre (0.47 km2) Rancho Huerta de Romualdo Mexican land grant from Pío Pico, the last Mexican Governor of Alta California. Huerta de Romualdo means Romualdo's kitchen garden or orchard in Spanish. He sold the land to Captain John Wilson in 1846.In the 1890s, rock from Cerro Romualdo was used in the construction of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Cerro Romualdo is owned by the State of California, and is used by the California National Guard at adjacent Camp San Luis Obispo for fitness training.

Chumash Peak is a 1,257 ft (383 m) mountain in San Luis Obispo County, California. It is just northwest of San Luis Obispo, on the south side of California State Route 1. The peak is one of the volcanic plugs known as the Nine Sisters, between Cerro Romauldo to its east and Bishop Peak to its west. In 1964 the hill was named in recognition of the Chumash Indians who lived in the area due to efforts by Louisiana Dart, curator of the San Luis Obispo County Museum. Access to the peak is currently unavailable.The peak was quarried in the 1970s for foundation material in the construction of new buildings on the Cuesta College campus nearby.

Camp San Luis Obispo is the original home of the California Army National Guard. It served as an Infantry Division Camp and Cantonment Area for the United States Army during World War II.

O'Sullivan Army Heliport (ICAO: KCSL, FAA LID: CSL) is a U.S. Army heliport at Camp San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. It is located just off California State Route 1, northwest of the city of San Luis Obispo, about halfway between it and Morro Bay. O'Sullivan AHP has one helipad designated H1 with a 2,430 by 75 ft (741 by 23 m) asphalt surface.

The Nine Sisters or the Morros are a chain of twenty-three, although typically only nine are included, volcanic mountains and hills in western San Luis Obispo County, Southern California. They run between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.

Bishop Peak is a 1,546-foot (471 m) volcanic plug in San Luis Obispo, California. It is the tallest of the Morros or "Nine Sisters", a chain of similar peaks stretching to Morro Bay. Often said to take its name from its resemblance to a bishop's miter, it is named in homage to the town's name (San Luis Obispo). "Obispo" is the Spanish word for Bishop.

Rancho Potrero de San Luis Obispo was a 3,506-acre (14.19 km2) Mexican land grant in present day San Luis Obispo County, California given in 1842 by Governor Juan Alvarado to María Concepción Boronda. Potrero means "pasture" in Spanish. The grant was north of present day San Luis Obispo, and encompassed Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
