Church of St. Michael in Črna Vas, Slovenia, also known as the Church of St. Michael in the Marsh (Slovene: Cerkev sv. Mihaela na Barju), is a parish church of the Roman Catholic Church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana. Dedicated to Saint Michael, it is one of the prominent works of 20th-century Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, and is listed as a monument of national significance of Slovenia. The church, together with several other Plečnik's works in Ljubljana, has also been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site The works of Jože Plečnik in Ljubljana – Human Centred Urban Design in 2021.

Črna Vas (pronounced [ˈtʃəɾna ˈʋaːs]; Slovene: Črna vas) is a settlement on the right bank of the Ljubljanica River, south of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

On 23 August 2012, a hot air balloon on a commercial sightseeing flight crashed in stormy weather on the Ljubljana Marsh in central Slovenia, killing 6 of the 32 people on board.

Iška Loka (pronounced [ˈiːʃka ˈloːka]; German: Igglack) is a village in the Municipality of Ig in central Slovenia, in the marshes just south of the capital Ljubljana. The entire municipality is part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region. Surface finds of pottery and worked stone tools in the area point to Mesolithic, Chalcolithic, and Early Bronze Age settlement of the area.At the southern edge of the settlement, at the intersection of roads leading to Ig and Staje, there is a chapel-shrine with an image in relief. It dates from the 19th century.

The Iška (pronounced [ˈiːʃka]) is a river of central Slovenia. Part of the river valley—the Iška Gorge or Iška Canyon (Slovene: Iški vintgar)—separates Lower Carniola from Inner Carniola.: 82  The river is 31 km (19 mi) long. After flowing past Strahomer, the river follows an almost straight line and joins the Ljubljanica River, and therefore belongs to the Sava and Black Sea basins. The part of the river between Iška Vas and Strahomer disappeared underground during the 2010 Slovenia floods, on the night of 20 September 2010.

The Buddhist Congregation Dharmaling is a Buddhist organization, which main office is registered to the Office for religious communities of the Government of Slovenia. Buddhist Congregation Dharmaling is also signatory of an agreement with the State of Slovenia, and is as such the 6th religious community to have signed such agreement in Slovenia (after the four Christian faiths and the Muslim community). Following primarily the Gelug lineage, the head of the organization, Lama Shenphen Rinpoche – a Western reborn and officially recognized tulku by the Tibetan community – has a non sectarian (Rime) type of approach. The Congregation’s teachings and practices are traditional, but are adapted to be accessible to Westerners and the life they live. A regular program of teaching exists in different countries and more periodical teachings are taking places in other countries where a study group exists. Retreats and seminars are also organized each year. Dharmaling is also active in the humanitarian fields, through AMCHI non profit organization created since 1989, and its Foundation.

The Trnovo District (Slovene: Četrtna skupnost Trnovo), or simply Trnovo, is a district (mestna četrt) of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
