Jubilee Stadium (also known as Kogarah Oval or by its sponsored name Netstrata Jubilee Stadium) is a multipurpose stadium in Carlton, New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. The stadium is mainly used for rugby league and the A-League, and is one of the home grounds of the National Rugby League (NRL) team St. George Illawarra Dragons. The stadium has hosted football matches, including hosting Sydney Olympic FC in the 2003–04 National Soccer League and recently, Sydney FC in the 2018–19, 2019–20 A-League, 2020–21 and 2021–22 due to the rebuild of the Sydney Football Stadium. The Cronulla Sutherland Sharks temporarily played at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium during the major redevelopment of their leagues club and stadium in 2020-21. The ground hosted its first game of rugby league in March 1936 when the St. George Dragons were defeated by the Newtown Bluebags in an exhibition match. The first official game was played on 22 April 1950 in which the Dragons lost 17–15 to South Sydney. The stadium has undergone several constructions over the years and are set to continue in the following decade.

The City of Kogarah was a local government area in the St George region of southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The centre of the city is located 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) south-west of the Sydney central business district and west of Botany Bay. The Municipality of Kogarah was established on 22 December 1885 and in 2008 Kogarah became the first local government area in New South Wales to become a city by popular vote. The city was bounded by the Illawarra railway line, Georges River, Rocky Point Road, Princes Highway and Harrow Road. The name Kogarah is Aboriginal, meaning place of reeds and takes its name from the reeds that grew in the inlets along the Georges River and at the head of Kogarah Bay. On 12 May 2016, the NSW Government announced that Kogarah and Hurstville councils would merge to form Georges River Council with immediate effect.

The Council was formed on 12 May 2016 from the merger of the Hurstville City Council and Kogarah City Council.The Council comprises an area of 38.36 square kilometres (14.81 sq mi) and as at the 2021 census had a population of 152,274.The mayor of Georges River Council is Sam Elmir, who was elected by his fellow councillors on 25 September 2023.

Carss Cottage is a heritage-listed former cottage and park ranger's residence and now historical museum locate in Carss Bush Park at 74 Carwar Avenue, Carss Park, Georges River Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was built during 1865 by Scottish masons. The property is owned by the Georges River Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
