W Austin Hotel and Residences

Block 21 is a $300 million mixed-use development complex located in the Second Street District of Downtown Austin, Texas. Austin's eighth-tallest building, the W Austin Hotel and Residences and Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater, the live venue where Austin City Limits is recorded, are located here, as well as 53,000 square feet (4,900 m2) of shops, restaurants and office space.The complex has been lauded for its eco-friendliness.

Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater (ACL Live or Moody Theater) is the theater and studio for Austin City Limits, completed in February 2011 as part of the Block 21 complex. The Moody Foundation of Galveston granted $2.5 million to KLRU, the largest single gift ever received by the PBS station, to help equip the new home of Austin City Limits on Second Street (Willie Nelson Boulevard) in Downtown Austin, Texas with high-definition production equipment. In recognition, the venue is called Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater. The theater/studio holds 2,750 fans, up from the capacity of 320 at its old space on the University of Texas at Austin campus, and hosts an estimated 100 concerts and 100 private events a year, in addition to the Austin City Limits tapings. KLRU gets 45 days a year, rent-free, to produce each season of the longest-running music series in American television history.

The Willie Nelson statue is a bronze sculpture of singer-songwriter Willie Nelson, located in Downtown Austin, Texas. The statue was commissioned to artist Clete Shields by the nonprofit organization Capital Area Statues. Following his move to Nashville in 1960, Nelson enjoyed success as a songwriter, but his career as a singer did not progress. After shortly retiring from the music business, Nelson moved to Austin in 1972, where his career found new success as a performer. Knowing of the plans for the statue, Austin mayor Lee Leffingwell proposed to rename a portion of Second Street to Willie Nelson Boulevard. The unveiling of the statue took place on April 20, 2012 at 4:20 pm with Nelson in attendance.

Austin City Hall is the seat of Austin municipal government, located at 301 W 2nd St in downtown Austin, Texas (USA). The current building was completed in 2004. It is the meeting place for the Austin City Council. Austin formerly operated its City Hall at 124 West 8th Street. Antoine Predock and Cotera + Reed Architects designed a new city hall building, which was intended to reflect what The Dallas Morning News referred to as a “crazy-quilt vitality, that embraces everything from country music to environmental protests and high-tech swagger.” The new city hall, built from recycled materials, has solar panels in its garage. The City Hall at 301 W 2nd St opened in November 2004.

The J.P. Schneider Store is a historic commerce building in downtown Austin, Texas built in 1873. Built along Second Street, the structure is the only remaining historic building in the immediate vicinity and is today surrounded by Austin City Hall and the headquarters of Silicon Labs. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. As of December 2006, Lamberts Downtown Barbeque is housed in the space.

The William P. Hobby, Jr. State Office Building - formerly known as Republic Plaza - is a three-building government office complex located in the Warehouse District of Downtown Austin, Texas, United States. The building complex houses numerous Texas Texas state agencies, including the Texas Department of Insurance, Texas Medical Board, Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. The complex is named for former Lieutenant Governor William P. Hobby Jr.

Republic Square is an urban park in central Austin, Texas. Located in Downtown Austin, the park features a grassy area meant for festivals and events as well as shaded areas under live oak trees. The SFC Farmers' Market meets at the square every Saturday morning.

Liberty Lunch was a live-music venue at 405 W. 2nd Street in Austin, Texas that operated until 1999. It was rumored to have been called Liberty Lunch in the 1940s as an eatery, perhaps reflecting the World War II Liberty Bonds and patriotic sentiment. Liberty Lunch has become notable in the history of Austin music, along with the Armadillo World Headquarters.

The Ashton is a 36-story residential skyscraper located in Austin, Texas. Completed in 2009, it is 412 feet (126 meters) high, making it the 10th tallest building in the city. The tower rises just 15 feet from its shorter neighbor to the east, 100 Congress. The Ashton was one of the first skyscrapers built in Austin during the city's 2006-2010 skyscraper boom. The building is notable for its extensive pool deck located atop the podium. The Ashton is the twin of a building of the same name in Dallas, Texas, though the Austin property is 16 stories taller.

The Northshore is a mixed-use building in Austin, Texas that includes 150 residential units and 40,000 square feet of retail and office space. Co-Working company Galvanize occupies the office space in the building. As of 2019, the tower stands as the 9th tallest building in Austin, Texas. The building is the tallest apartment building in the city. The Northshore is part of the redevelopment of the former Green Water Treatment Plant site in downtown Austin.The tower was originally planned to have a twin on neighboring Block 185, but the plan was reduced in scope to the single tower on Block 1 in 2014. Block 185 began construction in 2019, as a different design.

The Austin United States Courthouse is a federal courthouse in downtown Austin, Texas. Built between 2009 and 2012, the building houses the Austin division of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and other federal judicial offices. It replaced the 1936 Austin U.S. Courthouse, which has since been transferred to Travis County to hold county judicial space.
