River Corve

Culmington is a village and civil parish in south Shropshire, England, about 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) east of Craven Arms and 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) north of Ludlow. The village is about 330 feet (100 m) above sea level, beside the River Corve, just east of the B4365 road. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 423.

Stanton Lacy is a small village and geographically large civil parish located in south Shropshire, England, 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Ludlow. The River Corve flows through the parish, on its way south towards the River Teme, and passes immediately to the west of the village. The ancient parish church in the village is St Peter's. The building is Grade I listed and has pre-Norman parts dating to circa 1050.

Ludlow Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in Bromfield near Ludlow, Shropshire, England. One of the oldest courses in the country Ludlow stages National Hunt racing however originally flat racing was held there. The Hurdles course is just over one and a half miles round with 6 hurdles per circuit. The 'Chase course is a shorter circuit of just over 1 mile and 3 furlongs. There are 9 fences per circuit with 6 plain fences, 2 open ditches and a water jump which is situated in front of the stands. The B4365 crosses the racecourse at three points of the tracks and traffic is stopped when the course is in use. Other minor local roads also cross the track close to the racecourse stables and the Golf Club House. The venue is located between the small villages of Bromfield and Stanton Lacy, just off the A49, at a place long known as the Old Field. 16 meetings are staged each year at the course running between early October and mid May. King Charles III, then The Prince of Wales, rode at Ludlow in October 1980. Riding his own horse Alibar he finished second in an Amateur Riders Handicap 'Chase.

Corfton is a small village in Shropshire, England, located 4.5 miles (7.2 km) east of Craven Arms and 7.5 miles (12.1 km) north of Ludlow, the two nearest towns. There is a pub, with its own small brewery (the Corvedale Brewery), called The Sun Inn.It is named after the nearby River Corve. The Corvedale Three Castles Walk runs through the village.

Bromfield railway station was a station in Bromfield, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1852 and closed for regular passenger train services in 1958. but was occasionally used for special trains on race days until around 1965. last used 29 April 1965 After closure the station buildings and platforms were demolished and the site is now occupied by a factory.

It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Ludlow, the archdeaconry of Ludlow, and the diocese of Hereford. Its benefice is united with those of 5 other parishes to form the Bromfield Benefice. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

Bromfield is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 306, which had fallen to 277 at the 2011 census.

Bromfield Priory was a priory in Shropshire, England, located at Bromfield near Ludlow. It was a college of secular canons, founded before 1061. The Domesday Book of 1086 records an unusual amount of detail of the priory and its history. The priory held 20 hides of land in 1066 and 10 hides by 1086, including land at Halford, Dinchope, Ashford Bowdler, Felton, Burway, and Ledwyche, as well as the hamlets of Prior’s Halton, Lady Halton and Hill Halton. In 1086 there were 12 canons. St Giles in Ludford was a chapel of the priory. From 1258, the Priory was under the control of Gloucester Abbey: one of the priors of Bromfield, Henry Foliot, subsequently became Abbot of Gloucester. In 1538, as part of the dissolution of the monasteries, the priory was closed; the priory house was acquired in 1541 by Charles Foxe. It remained the Foxe family home until it burned down in the 17th century. The priory church survives as Bromfield's parish church.

National Cycle Network Route 44, part of the National Cycle Network, connects Shrewsbury, Shropshire with Cinderford, Gloucestershire. The part of the route from Shrewsbury to Bromfield is signed - the remainder of the route is currently unsigned. The section from Shrewsbury to Leominster is advertised as the Six Castles Cycleway. The six castles on or near the route are (in geographical order from north to south): Shrewsbury Castle, Bishop's Castle, Stokesay Castle, Ludlow Castle, Richard's Castle and Croft Castle.
