Congleton High School

Black Firs Wood Nature Reserve is a 1.15-hectare (2.8-acre) nature reserve managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. It is located at Black Firs Lane, Somerford, near Congleton, Cheshire, England, (grid reference SJ834638).

West Heath is a suburb to the west of Congleton, in Cheshire, England. It is the site of Astbury Mere Country Park. The West Heath area has three schools, with one of Congleton's two secondary schools, Congleton High School being located there.

Somerford Booths is a small civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. In the census of 2001 it was recorded as having a population of 175. increasing to 181 at the 2011 Census. The civil parish holds a parish council meeting under a grouping scheme with the civil parish of Hulme Walfield, and so it is consequently called Hulme Walfield & Somerford Booths Parish Council. The parish is small and now consists of scattered farms and small groupings of houses, including the hamlet of Newsbank. It contains Somerford Booths Hall as well as Grove House Farm and Broomfield Farm which are shown as ancient buildings on the Ordnance Survey map of the area.

Somerford is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is adjacent to the north west of Congleton, from which town it has some housing overflow. According to the 2001 census, the population of the civil parish was 343, increasing to 430 at the 2011 Census.Somerford Park was the site of a Georgian country house demolished in 1926. The park has now been restored to farming and an equestrian centre. All Saints Chapel was built in 1720 as a chapel to Somerford Hall. It still stands and is listed at grade II*.

Astbury Mere is a lake and open area in West Heath, a suburb of Congleton, Cheshire, England, in an area formerly quarried for silica sand. Part of the area is accredited by Natural England as a country park, Astbury Mere Country Park. The country park has an area of 14 hectares (35 acres) and the lake covers 43 acres (17 ha). The park is owned by Astbury Mere Trust, and the lake and its banks by Stoke-on-Trent Angling Society.

Newbold Astbury (often just Astbury) is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, in the north-west of England. Newbold Astbury is situated 1+1⁄2 miles (2 km) to the south-west of Congleton on the A34 road to Scholar Green; the A34 forms one side of the triangular village green. The civil parish holds a combined parish council meeting with the adjacent civil parish of Moreton-cum-Alcumlow, which is consequently called Newbold Astbury-cum-Moreton Parish Council.

St Mary's Church is an Anglican parish church in the village of Newbold Astbury, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and its architecture has been praised by a number of writers. It is possible that a church was present on the site in the Saxon era, although the earliest fabric in the church is Norman. The present ground plan was established in the 13th and 14th centuries, from which time the church's external appearance dates, apart from a major rebuilding in the later part of the 15th century, when the range of high windows or clerestory was added. All styles of English Gothic architecture, are represented in the church: Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular. During the civil war, a group of Roundheads stabled their horses in the church. In the 19th century the interior of the church was restored by George Gilbert Scott; some wall paintings were revealed, and stained glass was added. The church has a number of special features. These include its exceptionally wide nave for a village church, and its trapezoidal shape. The tower is separate from the body of the church, joined to it by a passage with a porch. There are two other porches: the three-storey west porch and the two-storey south porch. Inside the church are medieval fittings and furniture and many memorials. The churchyard contains numerous gravestones from the 17th century and five listed structures, including a canopied tomb. St Mary's continues to be an active church in the centre of its village. It provides the usual services of an Anglican church and runs a number of organisations catering for children and adults.

Somerford Booths Hall is a grade II* listed country house in the parish of Somerford Booths, Cheshire, England, 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) northwest of Congleton on the bank of the River Dane.

St Michael's Church is in Giantswood Lane, Hulme Walfield, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Congleton, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series comment that it is "an attractive building, and one for which money must have been spent generously".

Medhurst Green is a hamlet in Cheshire, England that forms part of the civil parish of Brereton. It consists mainly of two farms, Upper and Lower Medhurst Green Farm, which were also known as Meadowsgreen Farm and Lower Meadowsgreen Farm. The former is located on the A534 road about 5 kilometres (3 mi) west of Congleton where a minor road towards the latter branches off in a northerly direction. The hamlet is served by a bus stop near Upper Medhurst Green Farm.

Newsbank is a hamlet in Cheshire, England. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north west of the market town of Congleton and is the main settlement of the parish of Somerford Booths.
