Rosario (Spanish pronunciation: [roˈsaɾjo]) is the largest city in the central Argentina province of Santa Fe. The city is located 300 km (186 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires, on the west bank of the Paraná River. Rosario is the third-most populous city in the country, and is also the most populous city in Argentina that is not a capital (provincial or national). With a growing and important metropolitan area, Greater Rosario has an estimated population of 1,750,000 as of 2020. One of its main attractions includes the neoclassical, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco architecture that has been retained over the centuries in hundreds of residences, houses and public buildings. Rosario is the head city of the Rosario Department and is located at the heart of the major industrial corridor in Argentina. The city is a major railroad terminal and the shipping center for north-eastern Argentina. Ships reach the city via the Paraná River, which allows the existence of a 10-metre-deep (34 ft) port. The Port of Rosario is subject to silting and must be dredged periodically. Exports include wheat, flour, hay, linseed and other vegetable oils, corn, sugar, lumber, meat, hides, and wool. Manufactured goods include flour, sugar, meat products, and other foodstuffs. The Rosario-Victoria Bridge, opened in 2004, spans the Paraná River, connecting Rosario with the city of Victoria, across the Paraná Delta. The city plays a critical role in agricultural commerce, and thus finds itself at the center of a continuing debate over taxes levied on big-ticket agricultural goods such as soy. Along with Paraná, Rosario is one of the few Argentine cities that cannot point to a particular individual as its founder. The city's patron is the "Virgin of the Rosary", whose feast day is October 7.

Pellegrini Avenue (in Spanish, Avenida Pellegrini) is a street in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. It is a two-way avenue that runs east–west through the center-south of the city, from the coastal avenue by the Paraná River to the western limit of the urbanized area. Together with the river and with Oroño Boulevard, it also marks the unofficial limit of the downtown area. The avenue has two wide lanes and a narrow central reservation, usually lined with small trees and bushes. It starts near the shore of the Paraná River and climbs towards the downtown between grassy slopes formed by elevated level sidewalks. East of this area there lies the Parque Urquiza. Upon reaching the level of the rest of the central city area, it passes by the massive building that hosts the School of Engineering of the National University of Rosario, as well as its affiliated Politécnico secondary school. It then becomes a highly commercial street, hosting a large number of fine restaurants, canteens, bars, pizza parlours and icecream shops. A few blocks to the west lie the Tribunals of Rosario. Its intersection with Oroño Boulevard marks one of the corners of the Parque de la Independencia, which is the city's largest green area. Pellegrini is also one of Rosario's arterial roads and one of its primary accesses from the west. After crossing the whole city, it turns into the Rosario–Córdoba Highway. The avenue was inaugurated in 1868 as Bulevar Argentino, as part of a program of the municipality (created 6 years before) to beautify the city, then home to 23,000 residents, and which also included the opening of Oroño Boulevard (then Bulevar Santafesino). Its current name is an homage to Carlos Pellegrini (president of Argentina from to 1890 to 1892).

Plaza Santiago Montenegro is a small hardscape plaza in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Its name honors one of the first Spanish-descended settlers in the area, Captain Santiago Montenegro. It was known as Plaza Pinasco until 1993. The plaza occupies part of a block in the downtown area, limited by San Luis St., a pedestrian segment of San Martín St., and a smaller street or passage called Barón de Mauá. Most of the block is taken up by the Bernardino Rivadavia Culture Center.

The Palacio Cabanellas (Spanish, Cabanellas Palace) is a historical building in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located in the downtown area, occupying the southwestern corner of San Luis St. and Sarmiento St. The palace was projected around 1914 by the Majorcan architect Francisco Roca (Francesc Roca i Simó), who had been personally influenced by Antoni Gaudí during his studies in Barcelona. It was built in 1916 under the direction of Luis B. Laporte. It is one of very few examples of Modernisme (Catalan-style Art Nouveau) found in Rosario.It was restored under official sponsorship during the mid-2000s, in order to repair fissures and replace outer details.In 2006 the Palacio was one of the locations of the movie ¿De quién es el portaligas? (released 2007), directed by Rosario-born popular composer Fito Páez.

Plaza Sarmiento is a plaza (urban square) in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Its name is an homage to former Argentine president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Plaza Sarmiento is located in a strategic location within the Rosario downtown area, and serves as a transport node for many urban and short-distance interurban bus lines. It occupies almost two blocks, defined by San Luis St., Entre Ríos St., Mendoza St. and Corrientes St. It is divided by San Juan St. (running east–west). It features a monument crowned by a statue of Sarmiento, known as a pioneer and promoter of public education in Argentina. The only route of the Rosario trolleybus system, line K, passes through Plaza Sarmiento. The plaza currently hosts an outdoors artisans' fair several days each week.

The Hospital Provincial de Rosario (HPR; transl. "Provincial Hospital of Rosario") is a general hospital in Rosario, Argentina, which depends on the Health Ministry of the provincial state of Santa Fe. It is a public hospital (managed partly by an elected council) and serves as the base hospital for Programmatic Area III of Zone VIII of the Santa Fe Ministry of Health. The HPR was the first hospital in Rosario and the first in the south of Santa Fe. It was inaugurated on 4 October 1855, with the name Hospital de Caridad ("Charity Hospital"), by the Sociedad de Beneficencia de Rosario ("Charitable Society of Rosario"). At the time of its foundation, the hospital was outside the main populated area of the then-small village of Rosario (which had little over 3,000 inhabitants). Presently the HPR is located in the center of the city (taking up a whole block) and serves an area with a population estimate of 386,000 residents, treating 182,000 people a year, admitting 25 patients a day, and performing 300 surgeries per month. The hospital also manages 16 primary care centers distributed in the southern part of Rosario.

The Instituto Politécnico Superior General San Martín is a technical high school in Rosario, Argentina. It was founded in 1906 as the "Escuela Industrial de la Nación" by its first director Luis Laporte. It depends on the National University of Rosario (UNR). The Instituto Politécnico Superior main building is located near the beginning of Pellegrini Avenue, in the southeastern border of the city center, besides the UNR's Faculty of Engineering.

The Faculty of Exact Sciences, Engineering and Surveying (Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura) of the National University of Rosario (UNR) is an institution of higher learning in Rosario, Argentina.

San Martín Street is an important street in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. It runs north–south through the center of the city, from the coastal avenue by the Paraná River to the southern limit of the urbanized area (a total of 6.5 km). It was originally named Calle del Puerto ("Port Street"); the name was changed in 1887 to honour Independence War hero General José de San Martín. San Martín St. starts near the river at Belgrano Avenue and climbs towards the downtown area. At the intersection with Santa Fe St. it is normally closed to traffic, and it becomes a highly commercial pedestrian-only street one block to the south, upon meeting Córdoba St. (also pedestrian-only at this point). It passes by the former Customs Office, the New Bank of Santa Fe and the Municipal Bank, several important hotels, the Monumental film theater, and the Bernardino Rivadavia Culture Center at Plaza Montenegro. The street returns to normal traffic four blocks later, at the intersection with Mendoza St. South of 27 de Febrero Boulevard, San Martín St. becomes a two-way avenue (26 m wide) that serves the traffic of a large area in the southeast of Rosario. In this section there is a great number of stores, thus making it the commercial core of the southern neighbourhoods. San Martín Ave. then meets Beltway Avenue and the municipal limit marked by the Saladillo Stream, and continues into the jurisdiction of the city of Villa Gobernador Gálvez.

La Bola de Nieve (Spanish, literally The Snowball) is a historical building in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. Its name alludes to the presence of a large stone sphere on its top. The building is located in the corner of Laprida St. and Córdoba St., at the edge of the downtown area, in front of Plaza 25 de Mayo. It was built in 1907, and commissioned by Camilo Guani, owner and founder of the financial institution that bore the name of Bola de Nieve; to a French-born architect by the name of Édouard Le Monnier, this mutual fund company had the tallest building in the city at the time it was built. The top of the building is a cylindrical body held up by columns and crowned by a sphere. Beneath and around the sphere, the name of the companyBola de Nieveis spelled out in large, white block letters, on a background of ceramic tiles

Rosario (Central Córdoba) is a railway station in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located at the junction of 27 de Febrero Boulevard and Juan Manuel de Rosas St., south of the city center. The station was part of the Córdoba Central Railway (then added to Belgrano Railway network). Closed for passenger services since 1952, it was operated by freight rail transport company Trenes Argentinos Cargas until 2015.
