Bromley, West Midlands

Bromley Halt was a small railway stop on the Wombourne Branch Line. It had very poor patronage and, along with the rest of the line's passenger stations, was closed just seven years after its introduction by the Great Western Railway in 1925. The halt served the communities between Pensnett, Wordsley and Kingswinford. Bromley Halt ran alongside the Stourbridge Extension Canal, which itself was eventually removed. Only two platforms and a single line from Bromley Halt to Pensnett Halt and Kingswinford Junction remain.

Wordsley is a suburban area of Stourbridge in the West Midlands, England. It is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley and falls into the Stourbridge (DY8) postcode and address area, being just north of the River Stour. Wordsley is part of the Dudley South Parliamentary constituency. It is bordered by open Staffordshire countryside to the west, Kingswinford to the North, Brierley Hill to the East and Stourbridge to the South.

The Stourbridge Extension Canal was a short canal built to serve a number of mines in the Kingswinford area of Staffordshire in England. Although connected to the Stourbridge Canal, it was independent from it. It opened in 1840, and was abandoned in 1935. A short section of it is still used as moorings for boats using the Stourbridge Canal.

Pensnett High School was a secondary school located in the Pensnett area of the Dudley Metropolitan Borough, in the West Midlands of England. There were around 150 pupils aged 14–16 on the school roll before closure.

The Wordsley School is a coeducational community secondary school, located in Wordsley (near Stourbridge) in the West Midlands of England.

Dudley Town Football Club is a football club based in Dudley, West Midlands, England. The club is one of the oldest non-league teams in the Midlands region, having been established in 1888. They are members of the Midland League Division One, although they have reached as high as the Premier Division of the Southern League, and in 1976 reached the first round proper of the FA Cup, when a crowd of over 5,000 saw them take Football League Third Division team York City to a replay.

Ketley Claypit is a 13.7 hectares (34 acres) geological site of Special Scientific Interest in the West Midlands. The site was notified in 1990 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is located in Kingswinford.

Pensnett Halt was a small railway stop on the Wombourne Branch Line. It was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1925 and closed in 1932. The halt served the small town of Pensnett. The sidings around the station survived until about 1994, thanks to the Perrier distribution centre. The line north of these sidings has now been lifted. The trackbed between Gornal Halt and Pensnett Halt has become a wasteland with the bridge that took the line under High Street and towards Tansy Green Road being fenced off and has since been overgrown. At one point, the line from Pensnett Halt to Brockmoor Halt railway station became a footpath but has since been hardly used and is now overgrown with only the single track that carried the line to Gornal Halt still in situ and a steep, dangerous footpath from Gibbons Lane.

Brockmoor Halt was a small railway stop on the Wombourne Branch Line in West Midlands, England. It had very poor patronage and, along with the rest of the line's passenger stations, was closed just seven years after its introduction by the Great Western Railway in 1925. The halt served the settlement of Brockmoor, which is now part of the Brierley Hill area. Brierley Hill railway station was closer to Brockmoor's small High Street than the halt named after it. Brockmoor Halt remains in place with the platforms and single rail including the bridge to Kingswinford Junction but it has been fenced off and mothballed since 1994.

Hawbush is a council estate in Brierley Hill, West Midlands (formerly Staffordshire), England. It was built in the 1920s and 1930s. It has been served by a primary school, Hawbush Primary School, since 1930, when 5-7 infant and 7-11 junior schools were opened. The infant school became the first school in September 1972, covering the 5-8 age range, while the junior school became a middle school for pupils aged 8-12. The two schools merged to form a primary school in September 1983. A nursery unit for 3 and 4 year olds was also on the site from at least 1976. The school's age range was altered to 3–11 in September 1990 after the final 12-year-olds left.

Wordsley Hospital was an NHS hospital located in Wordsley, near Stourbridge, West Midlands, England.
