The Indianapolis Zoo is a 64-acre (26 ha) non-profit zoo, public aquarium, and botanical garden in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Incorporated in 1944, the Indianapolis Zoological Society established the first zoo at George Washington Park in 1964. The current zoo opened in 1988 at White River State Park near downtown Indianapolis. It is among the largest privately funded zoos in the U.S.The institution is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and American Alliance of Museums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It was the first in the U.S. to receive triple accreditation as a zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden. The zoo is a leader in animal conservation and research, recognized for its biennial Indianapolis Prize and as home to the Global Center for Species Survival through its partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature.In 2020, the zoo housed more than 1,400 animals of 235 species while the adjoining White River Gardens contained more than 50,000 plants of nearly 3,000 species, respectively. The Indianapolis Zoo is a significant economic driver in the city and among its most visited attractions. In 2021, the zoo employed 700 people and welcomed 1.2 million guests, contributing nearly $60 million annually to the city's economy.

The National Institute for Sports and Fitness (NIFS) building was constructed in 1987. The building works with the IU School of Physical Education and Tourism Management. The building is located on the IUPUI campus and in White River State Park. The fitness center was constructed alongside the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium and the Natatorium to position IUPUI as a major physical education and sports leader for the city. The Indianapolis Tennis Center and the other facilities would host a series of events, competitions, and programs in conjunction with the city of Indianapolis and IUPUI.

McCormick Cabin Site is a historic site located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the site of the cabin John Wesley McCormick (1754–1837) built in 1820. It was at the cabin that commissioners appointed by the Indiana legislature met in June 1820 to select the site for the permanent seat of state government at Indianapolis. The site is commemorated by a granite boulder in White River State Park with plaque erected in 1924.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

IUPUI Gymnasium, nicknamed the Jungle, is a 1,215-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis. From 1982 until 2014 it was home to the IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team, and continues to host the IUPUI women's basketball and volleyball teams. It also holds various sports classes for the Indiana University School of Physical Education.

Indiana University Natatorium is a swimming complex on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It also serves as the home of the IUPUI School of Health & Human Sciences (including physical education, tourism management, pre-physical and pre-occupational therapy) with its offices on the second level and the Polaris Fitness Center on the first level. The Human Performance Lab is housed in the basement of the Natatorium building. The Natatorium has hosted hundreds of NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Big East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, USA Swimming, USA Diving, and USA Synchronized Swimming Championships, local/regional meets, as well 11 Olympic Trials in swimming, diving, and synchronized swimming. The Natatorium has the largest seating capacity of any indoor pool in the United States; it can hold up to 4,700 spectators.

IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium is a 12,100-seat soccer and track and field stadium located in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is the home of the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Jaguars track and field and soccer teams. It was also the original home of the Indy Eleven. The stadium is named for Indianapolis civic leader Michael A. Carroll. The stadium was built in 1982 for $7 million as a track and field venue. The facility has hosted the Athletics Competitions of the 1987 Pan American Games, 2001 World Police and Fire Games, several USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and NCAA Championships as well as the 1988 US Olympic Trials where Florence Griffith-Joyner set the women's 100 metres world record of 10.49 that stands to this day. The site features a 400-meter Mondo track with eight lanes. The stadium was renovated in 2013–2014 to accommodate the Indy Eleven. As part of the Indy Eleven's move to the United Soccer League in 2018, the team moved to Lucas Oil Stadium but returned for the 2019 playoff season.

Indiana Tower was the proposed centerpiece of White River State Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Designed by César Pelli in 1980, the plan was ultimately scrapped.

West Washington Street Pumping Station is a historic pumping station located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1870, and is a one-story, rectangular brick building. It was modified to its present form after 1909, and is 2/3 of its original size. It has a slate hipped roof topped by a square central tower and features distinctive brick detailing, and arched openings. The building served as the city's only water pumping station until 1890.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It currently houses the park offices of White River State Park.

The Indianapolis Tennis Center, originally known as the Indianapolis Sports Center, was a tennis stadium complex with additional outdoor and indoor tennis courts on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana. The stadium, which seated 10,000 spectators, was built in 1979. At that time it was the venue for the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships tournament. It was also the site of the tennis events for the 1987 Pan American Games.When originally constructed, the 13 acres (5.3 ha) complex included 14 outdoor courts, all of which, including the stadium court, had a clay surface. In 1989 an indoor facility featuring six DecoTurf Ii courts was added, and the stadium court and other outdoor courts were converted from clay to DecoTurf. Due to the change in playing surface, the name of the tournament was changed to the RCA Tennis Championships. The name of the tournament changed again to the Indianapolis Tennis Championships in 2007 due to the loss of the RCA sponsorship. Changes to the date of the tournament to a less desirable point in the ATP tour combined with the loss of sponsorship resulted in the tournament being sold and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Maintenance costs due to the loss of tournament income plus IUPUI's need for the land for future development led to the closure of the facility in August 2010 and its subsequent demolition that year.

University Hall at Indiana University is located at the corner of New York Street and University Boulevard and is home to the IUPUI Administration, IU Foundation, Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and the IU School of Social Work. The building is located south of the Indiana University Indianapolis Lecture Hall and to the west of the Education and Social Work Building.

The Peirce Geodetic Monument is a marker honoring the late American philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce (pronounced "purse"). It is located on Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, and was installed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. National Geodetic Survey.

Mega-Gem is an outdoor sculpture by American artist John Francis Torreano (born 1941). It is located on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus, which is near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, and is owned by the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The oversized sculpture, made of aluminum, is shaped like a round-cut diamond resting on one its facets and studded with 36 smaller, colored-metal rosettes.
