Prüfening dedicatory inscription

Prüfening Abbey (German: Kloster Prüfening) was a Benedictine monastery on the outskirts of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. Since the beginning of the 19th century it has also been known as Prüfening Castle (Schloss Prüfening). Notably, its extant dedicatory inscription, commemorating the founding of the abbey in 1119, was created by printing and is a unique document of medieval typography.

Regensburg-Prüfening station is one of the three railway stations in the German city of Regensburg used for passenger services; the others being Regensburg Hauptbahnhof and Regensburg-Burgweinting. It is located in the west of the city on Prüfeninger Schloßssstraße. In front of the station the track divides into the line to Nuremberg and the Regensburg–Ingolstadt railway to Ingolstadt Hauptbahnhof and Ulm. This crosses the line to Nuremberg shortly after Prüfening station. Regensburg-Prüfening has three platforms. To the south, are platforms 1 and 2 to Nuremberg, and about 100 m north is platform 3 to Ingolstadt. Only Regionalbahn trains stop at the station, which is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. It has connections to Regensburg's city bus services which stop at the Rennplatz bus stop north of the station. The Schwarze Laber is a river in Bavaria, Germany, and a left tributary of the Danube. Its source is near Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. It is approx. 78 km long. It flows southeast through the small towns Parsberg, Beratzhausen, Laaber and Deuerling. It flows into the Danube in Sinzing.

The Naab (Czech: Nába) is a river in Bavaria, Germany. This 97.5 kilometer long river is a left tributary of the Danube. Its average discharge at the mouth is 49 m3/s (1,700 cu ft/s).The Naab is formed by the confluence of the Waldnaab and the Haidenaab in Luhe-Wildenau, south of Weiden in der Oberpfalz. It flows generally south, through the towns Nabburg, Schwandorf and Burglengenfeld. It flows into the Danube near Regensburg.

Pentling is a municipality in the Regensburg district of Bavaria in Germany. It lies on the river Danube. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI lived there from 1969 and maintained his house there until his passing on the final day of 2022.

The original Jahnstadion Regensburg was a 12,500 capacity stadium in Regensburg, Germany. Until 2015 it was primarily used for football and was the home of SSV Jahn Regensburg. Built in 1926, it also hosted five football matches during the 1972 Summer Olympics. In 2017, it was mostly demolished and replaced by apartments and a school.

Regensburg is a city in eastern Bavaria, at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers, Danube's northernmost point. The Principality of Regensburg (German: Fürstentum Regensburg) was a principality of the Holy Roman Empire that was created in 1803. Its capital was Regensburg. Following the dissolution of the Empire in 1806, the principality became a member state of the Confederation of the Rhine until 1810.

Herzogspark is a 1.5-hectare (3.7-acre) municipal park, with small botanical garden, located on the banks of the Danube at the western edge of the old city, at Hundsumkehr Strasse, Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. The park dates to 1293, when a new wall was constructed after enlargement of the city. Its moat now forms part of the landscape. The site became a private garden in 1804, subsequently owned by the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis, and served its Württembergisches Palais served as the residence of Duchess Maria Sophia of Württemberg (née Princess of Thurn and Taxis). It 1935 it became municipal property, and in 1950-1952 was converted to a public park. Today it contains the following major features: The Prebrunnturm - A square medieval tower dating to 1293, open in the summer. Several small botanical gardens - an alpine garden with bell flowers, carnations, gentians, rhododendrons, primroses, etc.; rhododendron collection in the former moat; rose garden; lily pond with goldfish; and garden of southern plants. Renaissance garden - A new garden in the Renaissance style of geometric parterres edged by low boxwood hedges, with a Shakespeare garden along one hedge.The adjacent Württembergisches Palais is now the Natural History Museum of Eastern Bavaria, and consists of three interconnected wings devoted to mineralogy, paleontology, zoology, and botany.

The Württembergisches Palais (also known as the Herzogspalais) is an early 19th-century Neoclassical-style palace in the Western District (German: Westenviertel) of Regensburg in Bavaria's Upper Palatinate. The palace complex includes the Herzogspark, a municipal park with a Renaissance garden and a medieval tower known as the Prebrunnturm. Württembergisches Palais is the seat of the Natural History Museum of East Bavaria (German: Naturkundemuseum Ostbayern).
