Old School Baptist Church and Cemetery (South River War Memorial Free Public Library) is a historic church at 64—66 Main Street in South River, Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1805 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 1992.

South River is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 16,008, reflecting an increase of 686 (+4.5%) from the 15,322 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,630 (+11.9%) from the 13,692 counted in the 1990 Census.What is now South River was originally formed as the town of Washington within East Brunswick Township on February 23, 1870. South River was incorporated as an independent borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 28, 1898, replacing Washington town. It was named after the South River, which marks the borough's eastern and northeastern boundary.

As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 703 students and 54.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.9:1. The St. Euphrosynia Belarusian Orthodox Church is a Belarusian Greek Orthodox church in South River, New Jersey. The archdiocese is the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the United States. The head of the church is Rev. Fr. Konstanin Gavrilkin. It is named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk.

The Washington Canal, in Sayreville, New Jersey, is a waterway connecting the South River with the Raritan River, bypassing several loops at the mouth of the former. It was chartered in 1823 to reduce the distance and hence travel time along the South River from South River, New Jersey (then known as Washington) to the Raritan River, and built about 1824–1825.During Hurricane Sandy, the area around the Washington Canal suffered surges up to 14 feet above flood stage. Nearly all homes became uninhabitable, and more than 30 lost their foundations.

The Starland Ballroom is a concert venue located in Sayreville, New Jersey. Beginning in the 1960s, the building was known as the Jernee Mill Inn, a local bar with a banquet hall. The school was recognized by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program in the 1990–91 school year. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1965. Orchard Heights is an unincorporated community located within East Brunswick Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The area is part of a suburban residential neighborhood between Milltown and Dunhams Corner Roads (County Route 535) interchange with New Jersey Route 18. Near the area includes two schools (one elementary school and East Brunswick High School), churches, and St. Mary's Cemetery. The subdivision was planned and built in about 1954.
