Valley High School (New Mexico)

The Los Candelarias Chapel, also known as the San Antonio Chapel, is a historic building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The chapel was built in 1888 to serve the community of Los Candelarias, one of several outlying plazas spread along the Rio Grande in the vicinity of the main plaza at Old Town Albuquerque. It is one of the only surviving buildings from the no-longer-extant plaza. The building remained in use as a chapel until the 1950s and was subsequently converted into an artist's studio and then a private residence. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The chapel is a tall, one-story adobe building in the New Mexico vernacular style with some Territorial details. It is rectangular in plan and proportioned similarly to the traditional Spanish colonial churches, about four times as long as it is wide. The building has a corrugated metal gable roof and a projecting tower topped with a belfry and a cross. The walls are stuccoed except for the gable ends and the upper section of the bell tower, which are covered in clapboard siding. The main entrance has a set of wooden double doors with carved details underneath a stuccoed cross in relief.

The Charles Grande House is a historic farmhouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built in 1915 by Charles Grande, an Italian immigrant who worked in the hotel and saloon business, and his wife Carmelita Garcia, who was from a New Mexico family. The Grandes operated a vineyard and raised livestock on the property, which was later subdivided for residential development in the 1950s. The building was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The house is a 1+1⁄2-story bungalow with a full-width screened porch. It has a broad gable roof with clapboarded gables and overhanging eaves supported by brackets. The house is in largely unaltered condition with original doors and sash windows throughout.

The C. M. Foraker Farmhouse was a historic house in the Near North Valley neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built near the turn of the 20th century and was purchased around 1900 by C. M. Foraker, the last U.S. Marshal for New Mexico Territory before New Mexico gained statehood in 1912. Foraker's daughter Mary still owned the house at the time of its National Register of Historic Places listing in 1984. It was also listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983.In 2005, the farmhouse was listed as one of the most endangered historic places in New Mexico. It burned down in March, 2008.The house, a notable early example of an "Anglo" style house in the predominantly Hispanic North Valley, was a one-and-a-half-story building of terron (sod brick) and frame construction. The main body of the house was rectangular, with two projecting wings at the rear. One of these wings was original and the other was added in 1926. The house had a tall hip roof with dormers on all four sides and a screened porch with original turned wooden posts. The house also retained original wooden 1-over-1 sash windows and interior trim.

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, located in Albuquerque, is owned and operated by the 19 Indian Pueblos of New Mexico and dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of Pueblo Indian Culture, History and Art. The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is a non-profit that opened in August, 1976, to showcase the history and accomplishments of the Pueblo people, from Pre-Columbian to current time.

Los Tomases Chapel is a historic building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The chapel was built in the 1920s to serve the late-19th-century North Valley neighborhood of Los Tomases, and remained in occasional use in the 1980s. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The chapel is a one-story adobe building in the New Mexico vernacular style. It is approximately rectangular in plan with a polygonal apse. The building has a corrugated metal gable roof with exposed rafters and a three-sided hipped section at the rear. Both the east and west sides have three arched, wood-framed 1-over-1 sash windows, and the front entrance has wooden double doors with a transom.

The Unser Racing Museum is a non-profit museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States that celebrates the accomplishments of New Mexico's native auto racing family, the Unsers. The museum celebrates multiple generations of Unsers, from patriarch Jerry Unser, to Al Unser III and Mariana Unser as well. Opened in 2005, the main building is shaped like a steering wheel. It features multiple exhibits, and actual racecars driven by the Unsers. There is also a rotating exhibit, featuring a new racing aspect every few months. The museum is set to close in May 2023, with the collection moving to the larger Museum of American Speed in Nebraska.

Albuquerque Indian School (AIS) was a Native American boarding school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which operated from 1881 to 1981. It was one of the oldest and largest off-reservation boarding schools in the United States. For most of its history it was run by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). Like other government boarding schools, AIS was modeled after the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, using strict military-style discipline to strip students of their native identity and assimilate them into white American culture. The curriculum focused on literacy and vocational skills, with field work components on farms or railroads for boys and as domestic help for girls. In the 1930s, as the philosophy around Indian education changed, the school shifted away from the military approach and offered more training in traditional crafts like pottery, weaving, and silversmithing.In 1977, administration of the school was taken over by the All Indian Pueblo Council, a coalition of the 20 Pueblos in New Mexico and Texas. By this point the campus was in disrepair and it closed soon afterward. Most of the abandoned school buildings burned down and were razed between 1981 and 1993. As of 2022 the sole remaining building is the Employees' New Dormitory and Club.

Native American Community Academy (NACA) is a charter K-12 school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It opened in 2006. Originally it was a grade 6-12 school, with grades 6-10 taking classes at temporary buildings on the grounds of Wilson Middle School, and with grades 11-12 attending classes at University of New Mexico School of Law. All school buses to went Wilson, with grade 11-12 students transported to/from Wilson to the UNM Law building.In 2013 all grades moved to Building 232 of the former Albuquerque Indian School, also known as the Employees' New Dormitory and Club, which was the only remaining building of the AIS campus. The prospective enrollment was 380. The school had plans to get elementary grades later. The school preserved the exterior of its current campus.On July 21, 2014, NACA started a Native American-oriented charter school network, with its first campus being Dream Diné Charter School in Shiprock, New Mexico.

The Employees' New Dormitory and Club, also known as Building 232, is a historic building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built in 1931, it is notable as the only surviving building of the Albuquerque Indian School, which operated at this location from 1882 to 1976. It was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1981 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Mary & Tito's Cafe is a restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was established in 1963 and has been recognized as one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation. The restaurant's Carne Adovada Turnover has pork shoulder meat and Wisconsin cheddar cheese in a flour tortilla.

The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park is a New Mexico State Park located adjacent to the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. The Rio Grande Nature Center is a 38-acre urban wildlife preserve established in 1982. About two thirds of the grounds of the Park are set aside as habitat for wildlife. The remaining acreage contains a visitors center, two gardens, several wildlife viewing areas, an education building and a building housing the non-profit Wildlife Rescue, Inc. There are four constructed ponds which provide habitat for birds and other wildlife and which mimic wetland features of the historical flood plain of the Rio Grande.

San Jose de los Duranes Chapel is a historic building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The chapel was built around 1890 to serve the community of Los Duranes, one of several outlying plazas spread along the Rio Grande in the vicinity of the main plaza at Old Town Albuquerque. The chapel was replaced with a new, larger San Jose Church in the 1960s, and fell into disrepair. In 1982–4, community members undertook a restoration of the building, replacing damaged or missing pews, rails, and doors, plastering the walls, repairing holes, and reinstalling the original religious artwork including paintings of the Crucifixion and a santo depicting St. Joseph. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The chapel is a one-story adobe building in the New Mexico vernacular style. It is approximately rectangular in plan with a polygonal apse and a small shed-roofed wing on the north side containing the sacristy. The building has a corrugated metal gable roof with a wooden-shingled gable end at the front and a three-sided hipped section at the apse end. The main entrance at the front of the building has wooden double doors underneath a wooden cross and a small belfry. The original bell was stolen, but it was replaced with a new bell during the 1980s restoration.
