Buell's Lane Historic District

The Town of East Hampton is located in southeastern Suffolk County, New York, at the eastern end of the South Shore of Long Island. It is the easternmost town in the state of New York. At the time of the 2020 United States census, it had a total population of 28,385. The town includes the village of East Hampton, as well as the hamlets of Montauk, Amagansett, Wainscott, and Springs. It also includes part of the incorporated village of Sag Harbor. East Hampton is located on a peninsula, bordered on the south by the Atlantic Ocean, to the east by Block Island Sound and to the north by Gardiners Bay, Napeague Bay and Fort Pond Bay. To the west is western Long Island, reaching to the East River and New York City. The Town has eight state parks, most located at the water's edge. The town consists of 70 square miles (180 km2) and stretches nearly 25 miles (40 km), from Wainscott in the west to Montauk Point in the east. It is approximately six miles (10 km) wide at its widest point and less than one mile at its narrowest. The town has jurisdiction over Gardiners Island, which is one of the largest privately owned islands in the United States. The town has 70 miles (110 km) of shoreline.

Gates of the Grove (Shaarey Pardes), the sanctuary of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons, is a synagogue designed by noted architect Norman Jaffe and built in East Hampton, New York in 1989. It has been called a masterpiece.The cedar shingled synagogue won the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art, and Architecture excellence in design award. Jaffe called on Kabbalistic symbolism, the famed light of the Hamptons, and local vernacular traditions to create a contemporary religious space that uses architecture to shape spiritual experience. New York Times architecture critic Paul Goldberger described it as "a building that is at once a gentle tent and a powerful monument, at once a civic presence that celebrates community and a place of quiet meditation that honors solitude".

Pritam & Eames is an art gallery associated with the American Studio Furniture movement which was established in 1981 by Bebe Pritam Johnson and Warren Eames Johnson in East Hampton, New York.In 1990 to 1991, the gallery partners interviewed 14 of the artists who were early and continuing contributors to the gallery, which included: These conversations were turned into a 2013 book, Speaking of Furniture: Conversations with 14 American Masters. In 2014, Bebe and Warren Johnson received the Award of Distinction from The Furniture Society. In the spring of 2015, Pritam & Eames re-located its exhibition space to The Gallery at Somes Sound on Mount Desert Island, Maine.

The Thomas and Mary Nimmo Moran House is a historic house museum at 229 Main Street in East Hampton, New York. Built in 1884, it was the home of Mary Nimmo Moran and Thomas Moran, both accomplished painters of the nineteenth century. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965 for its association with Thomas Moran, the first major painter to bring scenes of the American West to the rest of the country. The house has been restored and opened to the public by reservation under the care of the East Hampton Historical Society.

The Village of East Hampton is a village in Suffolk County, New York. It is located in the town of East Hampton on the South Fork of eastern Long Island. The population was 1,083 at the time of the 2010 census, 251 less than in the year 2000. It is a center of the summer resort and upscale locality at the East End of Long Island known as The Hamptons and is generally considered one of the area's two most prestigious communities. The Mayor of East Hampton Village is Jerry Larsen, elected on September 15, 2020.

Rev. Thomas James, Jr. (1620-1698) was a Puritan minister in East Hampton, Long Island, during the late 17th century. In 1648, the first inhabitants of East Hampton arrived, having mostly migrated from Maidstone, a town in Kent, England. Prior to reaching eastern Long Island, they made a stopover in Lynn, Massachusetts, and then moved on to Connecticut. Their journey to America was primarily driven by religious persecution and oppressive governmental regulations. These settlers sought not just religious freedom, but also civil liberties.

East Hampton is a station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, on Railroad Avenue between Newtown Lane and Race Lane, in East Hampton, New York. Parking is available along Railroad Avenue as far west as King Street. A bus/taxi lane is in front of the station house.

The mill cottage on the Lion Gardiner farm at 36 James Lane on the landmarked East Hampton Village green has become a museum displaying 19th and early-20th-century landscape paintings. It is a contributing structure on the NRHP East Hampton Village District, replacing the original cottage on the lot situated with the windmill and Rev James historic marker.

The Pantigo Windmill is an octagonal smock mill in Easthampton on Long Island, New York. Bearing a 1771 weathervane on top, the James Lane structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 as a contributing property of the East Hampton Village District. (Ref# 74001309)

Mulford Farm in East Hampton, Long Island, New York, is one of America's most significant, intact English colonial farmsteads. The farmhouse was built in 1680 by High Sheriff Josiah Hobart, an important early official of the first New York Royal Province government. Samuel "Fish Hook" Mulford bought the property in 1712 after Hobart's death. He had the barn built in 1721. The property is listed as a contributing property of the East Hampton Village District, a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The Mulford Farm site has been interpreted as the year 1790, and includes the house, barn, spinning dependency, privy, smokehouse and garden. It is owned by the East Hampton Historical Society and operated as a living museum. Next to it is a colonial house museum, called "Home Sweet Home" for its association with songwriter John Howard Payne, who spent time as a child there at what was his grandfather's house. The Pantigo windmill is located behind it. The Mulford Farm museum is located at 10 James Lane, East Hampton, New York, accessible by Montauk Highway. It is open from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church is located in the village of East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York. Founded in 1860, the present stone church was designed by architect Thomas Nash and erected in 1910–1911. It stands within the East Hampton Village District listed on the National Register of Historic Places, where it is a contributing property alongside the rectory (1916).

Guild Hall of East Hampton in the incorporated Village of East Hampton on Long Island's East End, is one of the United States' first multidisciplinary cultural institutions. Opened in 1931, it was designed by architect Aymar Embury II and includes a visual art museum with three galleries and the John Drew Theater, a 360 seat proscenium stage. It is historically significant for its role in exhibiting the works of the American Abstract expressionists Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Lee Krasner, John Ferren, and Robert Motherwell; performances by Helen Hayes, Thornton Wilder, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson, and hundreds of other world-class stars of stage and screen; and involvement by the literary figures George Plimpton, Peter Matthiessen, Gore Vidal, Edward Albee, and John Steinbeck. It holds a permanent collection of 2,400 works of art and continues to build on important relationships in the worlds of film, theatre, dance, music, and visual art. The museum's current director is Andrea Grover, who was previously Curator of Special Projects of the Parrish Art Museum.
