The Xiaotaoyuan Mosque (simplified Chinese: 小桃园清真寺; traditional Chinese: 小桃園清真寺; pinyin: Xiǎotáoyuán Qīngzhēnsì), formerly known as Islamic Western Mosque or Shanghai Western Mosque, is a mosque in Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. It is the largest mosque in Shanghai.

The St. Francis Xavier Church (simplified Chinese: 圣方济各沙勿略堂; traditional Chinese: 聖方濟各沙勿略堂) or Dongjiadu Catholic Church (董家渡天主堂), formerly known as the Cathedral of St Francis Xavier at Tungkiatu or Dongjiadu Cathedral (董家渡主教座堂), is a Neo-Baroque Roman Catholic cathedral in Dongjiadu (Tungkiatu), Shanghai, China.

Gucheng Park is a park located at the east end of Renmin Road in Shanghai, China. It was established in 2002. It is known as "Park of the Old City."

The Bund Finance Center is a building in The Bund, Shanghai, China. It is notable for its three, overlapping, moving layers of vertical stainless steel pipes. These layers, inspired by theatre curtains, slowly rotate around the building. The City God Temple or Temple of the City Gods (simplified Chinese: 上海城隍庙; traditional Chinese: 上海城隍廟; pinyin: Shànghǎi Chénghuángmiào; Shanghainese: Zånhae Zenwånmio), officially the City Temple of Shanghai, is a folk temple located in the old city of Shanghai. It commemorates the elevation of Shanghai to municipal status and is the site of the veneration of three Chinese figures honored as the city gods of the town. It is also known by some locals as the "Old City God Temple", in reference to a later "New City God Temple" which no longer exists.

Nanxiang Bun Shop (simplified Chinese: 南翔馒头店; traditional Chinese: 南翔饅頭店; pinyin: Nánxiáng Mántóu Diàn; Shanghainese: Nuezhion Meudoe Di) is a traditional Shanghai eatery located in the City God Temple precinct in the old Chinese section of the city. It was established in 1900. Nanxiang is a town near Shanghai where the xiaolong mantou was invented. The restaurant has more recently expanded internationally, with branches in South Korea and Japan.

Nanshi District (simplified Chinese: 南市区; traditional Chinese: 南市區; pinyin: Nánshì Qū; lit. 'District of South City', was a district located in central Shanghai until its merger with Huangpu District, Shanghai on 13 June 2000. It had an area of 8.29 km2 (3.20 sq mi), of which 1.42 km2 (0.55 sq mi) was water, and population of 435,420 as of June 2000.

The Old City of Shanghai (Chinese: 上海老城厢; pinyin: Shànghăi Lăo Chéngxiāng; Shanghainese: Zånhae Lo Zenshian), also formerly known as the Chinese city, is the traditional urban core of Shanghai. Its boundary was formerly defined by a defensive wall. The Old City was the county seat for the old county of Shanghai. With the advent of foreign concessions in Shanghai, the Old City became just one part of Shanghai's urban core but continued for decades to be the seat of the Chinese authority in Shanghai. Notable features include the City God Temple which is located in the center of the Old City and is connected to the Yuyuan Garden. With the exception of two short sections, the walls were demolished in 1912, and a broad circular avenue built over the former wall and moat: the southern half was named the "Zhonghua Road" and the northern half the "Minguo Road" (together making up "Zhonghua Minguo", or "Republic of China" in Chinese). (The northern half was renamed "Renmin Road" ("People's Road") in 1950 by the new Communist government of Shanghai). The Old City was for decades essentially coterminous with the old Nanshi District, which is now part of Huangpu District.

The Confucian Temple or Temple of Confucius of Shanghai (simplified Chinese: 上海文庙; traditional Chinese: 上海文廟; pinyin: Shànghǎi Wénmiào), is a folk Confucian temple in the old city of Shanghai. It is similar to the original temple of Confucius in his hometown Qufu and to the Beijing temple, but on a smaller scale. The temple is located on Wenmiao Road (文庙路) in Huangpu District. The Wenmiao Market lies around it. The market opens every Sunday morning and hosts a temple fair.

The Water House (full name: The Water House at South Bund) (Chinese: 精品酒店; pinyin: Jīngpǐn Jiǔdiàn) is a hotel housed in an old Japanese-style building of the 1930s built on the banks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China. Formerly the headquarters of the Japanese army during World War II, it was later used as a warehouse. The Water House at South Bund was the first top fashion design hotel in Shanghai.

El Willy is a Spanish restaurant in Shanghai, China. It opened in January 2008 and is operated by chef Willy Trullas Moreno, who is from Spain. The restaurant relocated from a colonial house in Shanghai's French concession to a space in The Bund in 2012.
