Soutomaior is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Vigo. According to the INE, the population in 2011 was 7,223 inhabitants.

The Island of San Simón, which alongside San Antón and other islets, is part of the San Simón archipelago in the Vigo estuary, Spain. The islands are one of five parts of the parish of Cesantes in the municipality of Redondela. As of 2021, San Simón is uninhabited.The island presides over the inlet of San Simón at the inner end of the Vigo estuary, which drains the municipalities of Redondela, Soutomaior and Vilaboa. It is linked to the San Antón by a bridge. The two islands are 250 metres (820 ft) wide and 84 metres (276 ft) long. Nearby are two other small islets, San Bartolomé and San Norberto. Throughout its history, the island was used as a monastery, a lazaretto, a prison and an orphanage. The two islands as a whole have been listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural with the category of Historic Site since 29 July 1999.

Redondela is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Vigo. The most famous icons of the village are its two major railway viaducts built in the nineteenth century. Due to these infrastructures Redondela is known under the nickname "Village of the viaducts." The town lies on the Portuguese Way, one of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage routes. The municipality has an area of 51.9 km2 (20.0 sq mi) and has a population of 29,192 in 2021.

The Rande Bridge (Galician: Ponte de Rande, Spanish: Puente de Rande) is a cable-stayed bridge 9 kilometres from the city of Vigo and 18 kilometres from the city of Pontevedra, in the Province of Pontevedra, Spain. It spans Vigo bay across the Rande Strait, linking the municipalities of Redondela and Moaña.
