Mason Temple

Martin Stadium, originally known as Lewis Park, was a baseball park in Memphis, Tennessee, which served as the home stadium of the Memphis Red Sox, a Negro league baseball team, in the 1920s through 1959. The park was built in 1923 by the team owner, local businessman Robert S. Lewis. The Red Sox were one of only a few teams in the Negro leagues to have owned their own stadium, allowing them scheduling flexibility not widely enjoyed by their peers and removing the cost of gate fees on leased facilities.The ballpark was included in the 1927 sale of the baseball team from Lewis to the Martin brothers, including W.S. Martin and J.B. Martin, resulting in the name being changed to reference the new owners. The facility was enlarged, and the stadium was built in 1947 at a cost of US$200,000. After spending decades more acting as the home of the Red Sox and as a space for community events, the Martin brothers sold the stadium in 1960 after disbanding the baseball team, whereupon it was demolished the next year. The site is now home to a semi-truck dealer and has an historical marker.

Booker T Washington High School (also known as BTW) is a public secondary school located north of Downtown Memphis, on the southside of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The school was administered by the Memphis City Schools system, until the beginning of the 2013-14 year, it was served by the Shelby County Schools district. It serves grades 9-12. The school gained national attention when U.S. President Barack Obama delivered the school's 2011 commencement address as a reward for winning the 2011 Race to the Top Commencement Challenge.

The First Colored Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, also known as First Baptist Church—Lauderdale, was built in 1939 in a vernacular Colonial Revival style, with design attributed to Rev. Thomas O. Fuller. It is a rectangular brick building with brick laid in common bond. It has a limestone fence separating its parking area from the street, which is a c.1890 fence from the former Second Empire-styled Sanford house on the property. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It was deemed significant for its association with Thomas Oscar Fuller (1867-).

The Club Paradise was a nightclub at 645 E. Georgia Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. It was a stop on the "Chitlin' Circuit," a selection of venues considered safe and acceptable for African-American entertainers in the era of racial segregation in the United States. The Club Paradise was owned and operated by Sunbeam Mitchell from 1965 until 1985. In 1985, Mitchell retired and the nightclub opened under new ownership as the New Club Paradise. The New Club Paradise closed in 1999.

Memphis Union Station was a passenger terminal in Memphis, Tennessee. It served as a hub between railroads of the Southwest, the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the St. Louis Southwestern Railway, and railroads of the Southeast, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway and the Southern Railway. The terminal, completed in 1912, was built in the Beaux-Arts style and was located on Calhoun Street, between south Second Street and Rayburn Boulevard (now south Third Street). It was demolished in 1969. This location in south Memphis was approximately two blocks east of the other major Memphis railroad terminal, Memphis Grand Central Station.

The Second Congregational Church in Memphis, Tennessee is a historic church structure at 764 Walker Avenue. The building was started in 1928 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It was designed and/or built by Frank Nesbit and Harold E. Smith.The church was founded in 1868. It is presently affiliated with the United Church of Christ, one of three such congregations in the Memphis area.

Steele Hall, on the campus of LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, is a historic building built in 1914. It is the oldest building on campus. It was designed by architects Tandy & Foster.It is a two-story brick building upon a full basement with all three floors used for academic purposes. It was built on a limited budget, originally costing $32,000, and "has no architectural pretentions."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It also is included in the LeMoyne College Historic District, also on the National Register.

Clayborn Temple, formerly Second Presbyterian Church, is a historic place in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 for local architectural significance. It was upgraded to national significance under Clayborn Temple in 2017 due to its role in the events of the Sanitation Workers' Strike of 1968. The historic structure was sold to the A.M.E. Church in 1949, which named the building after their bishop.

R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home has operated continuously in downtown Memphis, Tennessee since 1914. The home has held services for many prominent African-Americans, including Benjamin Hooks and Martin Luther King Jr. The Lewis family was known for its civic leadership.

LeMoyne–Owen College (LOC or "LeMoyne-Owen") is a private historically black college affiliated with the United Church of Christ and located in Memphis, Tennessee. It resulted from the 1968 merger of historically black colleges and other schools established by northern Protestant missions during and after the American Civil War.

Memphis Central Station, referred to as Grand Central Station prior to 1944, is a passenger terminal in Memphis, Tennessee. Located along Main Street and G.E. Patterson Boulevard in Downtown Memphis, it currently a service stop for Amtrak's City of New Orleans route, arriving in late evening northbound and in the morning southbound. It is also served by the MATA Trolley system. The building was opened in 1914, and is located within the city's South Main Arts District. It is also an contributing property to the South Main Street Historic District of the National Register of Historic Places, as are the National Civil Rights Museum and other historic properties within the district boundaries.
