Große Aue

The Klosterbach is a right-hand tributary of the Große Aue, which is known as the Neuer Mühlenbach at the point where they join, in north Germany. The Klosterbach lies entirely within the parish of Rödinghausen in the district of Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia. The Klosterbach emerges north of Bieren near the Donoer Berg on the southern edge of the Wiehen Hills at a height of 152 m above sea level (NN). The stream discharges into the Große Aue after 1.6 kilometres at a height of 94 m above NN at river kilometre 82.9 on the Aue. The Klosterbach descends a height of 58 metres.

The Schierenbeke is a 2.4-kilometre-long (1.5 mi) left tributary of the Große Aue, or Neuer Mühlenbach as it is known in its upper reaches in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The stream lies entirely within the East Westphalian parish of Rödinghausen in the district of Herford.

The Wehmerhorster Bach is a stream in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany which rises on the Maschberg. It flows into the Schierenbeke near Rödinghausen.

Habighorster Bach is a small river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows into the Gewinghauser Bach near Bünde.

The Babilonie is a hillfort of the La Tène culture at a height of 255.6 metres above sea level on the northern edge of a rounded hill in the Wiehen Hills above the Lübbecke village of Obermehnen in the district of Minden-Lübbecke in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The name is derived from the Germanic baben in the lon i.e. "up in the woods". The wedge-shaped, double-rampart system, which descends from south to north with the slope, was investigated archaeologically in the first half of the last century, especially by Friedrich Langewiesche, who assessed it as a refuge castle. Ceramic and even metalwork finds indicate that it belongs to the La Tène culture in the pre-Roman Iron Age, e vorrömische Eisenzeit, therefore probably part of an extensive trading network. The fortification has an area of over 12 hectares. The first mapping of this hilltop, which was exceptionally well-suited to the establishment of a large hillfort with its spring high up the hills, was carried out after 1880.Ceramic finds from the Saxon-Frankish period have also been discovered. According to Paul Höfer there is a legend that refers to Wittekind.

The Maschberg is a hill, 190.2 m above sea level (NN), in the Wiehen Hills and on the boundary between the village of Rödinghausen and the town of Preußisch Oldendorf. The Maschberg is the highest point in the Rödinghausen parish of Schwenningdorf. The Maschberg, like almost all the hills in the Wiehen, has an elongated crest or Egge and is only separated to the hills to the west by dören. As a result, the hill is only perceived as a prominent summit. A long distance path, the Wittekindsweg, runs over the summit. To the west the Wiehen Hills climb again to the Nonnenstein. To the east the range descends into the water gap of the Große Aue to a height of 80 m above NN. Southwest of the summit rises the stream of Wehmerhorster Bach. The name "Maschberg" refers to the Börninghausen village of Masch (also Mesch), which lies northeast of the hill in the valley of Eggetal.

Limberg Castle (German: Burg Limberg) is a ruined hill castle on the 190-metre-high Limberg in the Wiehen Hills. It is located near the village of Börninghausen in the borough of Preußisch Oldendorf in the East Westphalian county of Minden-Lübbecke in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Limberg is a hill in the Egge, a side ridge of the Wiehen Hills, south of Preußisch Oldendorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The ruins of Limberg Castle are located on the hillside.

Obermehnen is a village in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the county of Minden-Lübbecke. The village belongs administratively to the town of Lübbecke. Obermehnen has 1,360 inhabitants and an area of 9.6 km². At around 137 people per km² Obermehnen has the lowest density of all of Lübbeck's districts, not least because 4.3 km², i.e. 45%, of the parish area consists of uninhabited hill forest on the Wiehen Hills. Obermehnen is thus the most wooded part of the borough of Lübbecke.

The Mehner Bach, also called the Obermehner Mühlenbach or just the Mühlenbach, is a 9.0 kilometre long stream, that mainly flows through the East Westphalian borough of Lübbecke but also through Preußisch Oldendorf. It forms the longitudinal axis of the former parish of Blasheim, on which the farms and mills of the Mehner Dorf are situated.

Bünde (Westf) station is located in Bünde in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Löhne–Rheine railway and Rahden–Herford railway. The rail services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, WestfalenBahn and Eurobahn.

Kahle Wart is an open-air theatre in Oberbauerschaft (part of Hüllhorst), North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. They act plays in German and Low German. Three plays are performed each year: a High German play (beginning of June to mid-July), a Low German play (mid-July to end of August) and – since 2017 – also a family play. The theatre is named after the summit Kahlewart of the Wiehen Hills. The Wittekindsweg, which leads from Osnabrück to Porta Westfalica and has a length of about 95 kilometres, runs across the site.
