Sainte-Sophie is a municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the La Rivière-du-Nord Regional County Municipality.

The Regional Reception Centre (French: Centre régional de réception) is a Canadian federal prison for men located with Archambault Institution at the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) complex at Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec, a short distance from Mirabel International Airport. The Special Handling Unit (SHU; French: Unité spéciale de détention or USD), within the centre, is Canada's highest security (supermax) prison. As of 2008, there were 90 prisoners at the SHU. In English it is nicknamed "the SHU" (pronounced 'shoe'), and in French it is the "USD". The six-wing radial-shaped facility is surrounded by three rows of fencing, which is in turn surrounded by farms. Inmates are always handcuffed in the presence of officers. When escorting inmates, officers are unarmed to prevent inadvertently placing a weapon in the vicinity of the prisoner. Escorting officers do carry pepper spray. Weapons and other equipment are carried by officers manning the elevated catwalk. Inmates must progress through programs in the SHU before being transferred back to the general population of other maximum security prisons; however, some inmates are considered to be too high-risk to be eligible for this and are detained in the SHU for longer periods.

Archambault Institution (French: Établissement Archambault) is a prison of the Correctional Service of Canada in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec. Its minimum security unit opened in 1968 and its medium security unit opened in 1969; the capacities respectively are 165 and 284.

CFND-FM is a French language community campus radio station that operates at 101.9 FM in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Canada. Owned by Amie du Quartier, the station received CRTC approval in 2007.The radio station is based at the École Notre-Dame, a primary school in Saint-Jérôme. The station's format, as per its license, is 23 hours of music, plus a 60-minute daily spoken word program, often broadcast during the school's lunch hour. All lunch time radio shows are prepared and presented by the students from grade 5 and 6. During times that music is played, 65% of the selections are by francophone artists, with the formats varying between classic hits, blues, classical music and jazz. In addition, spoken word segments, comedy bits and documentaries produced by students is heard at various parts of the day.

Terrebonne County is a historical county in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada. Its county seat and main city was Saint-Jérôme. In the early 1980s Quebec's counties were abolished and replaced by regional county municipalities.

Melançon Arena was an indoor arena located in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. It was once home to the Saint-Jérôme Alouettes of the Quebec Junior Hockey League mid 1950s to 1969 and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League 1969 to 1972. It was also home to the Saint-Jérôme Panthers of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League from 1988 to 2017.

Rinfret is a railway junction in the city of Saint-Jérôme in the Canadian province of Quebec.It is located at mile 36.4 of the Montfort Spur of the Quebec Gatineau Railway. Its latitude and longitude are 45.75167°N 73.99306°W / 45.75167; -73.99306, also written as 45°45′06″N 73°59′35″W. One reference states that one of the lines that meet at this junction was built by the Great Northern Railway of Canada, which was later acquired by Canadian Northern Railway.

Saint-Jérôme (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒeʁom]) (2021 population 80,213) is a suburban city located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northwest of Montreal on the Rivière du Nord. It is part of the North Shore sector of Greater Montreal. It is a gateway to the Laurentian Mountains and its resorts via the Autoroute des Laurentides. The town is named after Saint Jerome (ca. 347 – September 30, 420), a church father best known as the translator of the Bible from Greek and Hebrew into Latin. His translation is known as the Vulgate.

The CEGEP of Saint-Jérôme or Cégep de Saint-Jérôme (CSTJ) in French is a post-secondary education school in the Laurentides region of province of Quebec. There are three campuses affiliated to the CSTJ, the main one is located at Saint-Jérôme. The two others are in Mont-Tremblant and Mont-Laurier.
