Kichijōji (吉祥寺) is a neighborhood in the city of Musashino in Western Tokyo, Japan. It is centered on a compact but popular commercial area to the north and south of Kichijoji Station, with a full range of shops, restaurants, bars, and coffee houses. The area is a popular center for shopping and leisure in the Tokyo metropolitan area due in part to its close proximity to Inokashira Park and Inokashira Park Zoo. Kichijoji has been voted the number 1 place in Japan that Japanese would like to live every year since the 1990s according to polls by the magazine CNN GO. Kichijōji Station is served by the Chūō Line which runs to Tokyo Central Station in around 30 minutes, the Sobu Line, the Tozai Line and is also a terminus of the Keiō Inokashira Line, which takes passengers as far as Shibuya in around 20 minutes on the express service.

Japan Women's College of Physical Education (日本女子体育大学, Nihon joshi taiiku daigaku) is a private university in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school, a juku, was founded 1922. In 1965 it was chartered as a university.

Tokyo Metropolitan Nishi High School (東京都立西高等学校, Tōkyō Toritsu Nishi Kōtōgakkō) is a Japanese high school, founded in 1937 in Aoyama, Minato-ku, as the Tokyo Tenth Middle School (or Tokyo Tenth Junior High School (東京府立第十中学校, Tōkyō Furitsu Jū Chūgakkō)), which moved to Miyamae, Suginami-ku in 1939, and changed its name in 1950 to Nishi High School, with "Nishi" meaning "West". It was well known in the 1950s and 1960s for the large proportion of graduates who gained admission to the prestigious national universities, such as the University of Tokyo, Hitotsubashi University and the Tokyo Institute of Technology, though it suffered a decline later. As Nishi High School in 2001 was designated as one of the four high schools for the Tokyo Government's emphasis for continued education to college (進学指導重点校), it was once again being referred to as one of the best public high schools in Japan. The students' active extracurricular activities include: tennis, basketball, handball, American football, brass band and others.Nishi High School is located within ten minutes' walk from Kugayama Station of Keio Inokashira Line railway, and 20 minutes' walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station of JR Chūō Main Line railway.

Inokashira Park (井の頭恩賜公園, Inokashira Onshi Kōen) is a park which straddles Musashino and Mitaka in western Tokyo, Japan. Inokashira Pond (井の頭池) and the Kanda River water source (神田上水, Kanda jōsui), established during the Edo period, are the primary sources of the Kanda River. The land was given to Tokyo in 1913. On May 1, 1917, it opened under the name Inokashira Onshi Kōen (井の頭恩賜公園), which can be translated as, "Inokashira Imperial Grant Park". Thus the park was considered a gift from the Emperor to the general public.

Inokashira Park Zoo (Japanese: いのかしらしぜんぶんかえん; Kanji: 井の頭自然文化園) is a city zoo in Musashino, Tokyo. It is in a corner of Inokashira Park near the Ghibli Museum. A branch of the zoo is in Mitaka. It opened on May 17, 1942.

The Ghibli Museum (三鷹の森ジブリ美術館, Mitaka no Mori Jiburi Bijutsukan, Mitaka Forest Ghibli Museum) is a museum showcasing the work of the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli. It is located in Inokashira Park in Mitaka, a western city of Tokyo, Japan. The museum combines features of a children's museum, technology museum, and a fine arts museum, and is dedicated to the art and technique of animation. Features include a replica of the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro (1988), a café, bookstore, rooftop garden, and a theater for exclusive short films by Studio Ghibli.
