Great Easton is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. The parish had a population of 558 according to the 2001 census, increasing to 671 at the 2011 census.

Cottingham is a village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire in the English Midlands that can trace its history back to Roman times. Cotingeham is listed in the Domesday Book and is also mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. It is located north-west of the town of Corby and is administered as part of that town's borough. At the time of the 2001 census, Cottingham parish's population was 912, reducing slightly to 906 at the 2011 census.The village's name means 'Homestead/village of Cott's/Cotta's people'.Cottingham had a football club called New Cottingham F.C., which was established in 2009, but it folded in 2015. Although it was based in Corby. It won the Fred Deeley Memorial Trophy in 2011 and was the runnerup in the same competition a year later. It also won the Bob Quincey Shield for the first time in its history in 2013 and the Thornton Cup in 2015. The club was managed by Adam Muir (2009–10), Neil Jarman (2010-2013) and Neil Woollacott (2013-2015). The village has a community-run Village Store and Cafe that opened in September 2011. The project has been backed by more than 180 shareholders, who have invested more than £11,000 in the venture. The village is served by the Rutland Flyer and Welland Wanderer bus routes.

Drayton is a small village and civil parish in the Harborough district of south-east Leicestershire, bordering Northamptonshire and Rutland. It is situated 6.7 miles (11 km) northeast of Market Harborough and 5 miles (7.5 km) southwest of Uppingham on the north side of the Welland valley. Nearby villages are Bringhurst, Great Easton and Nevill Holt. The church of St James in Drayton is one of the smallest churches in England.

Middleton is a village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire close to the county boundary with Leicestershire. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 328 people, increasing to 414 at the 2011 Census.The villages name means 'middle farm/settlement'.

Eyebrook Reservoir (or Eye Brook Reservoir) is a 201.3-hectare (497-acre) reservoir and biological Site of Special Scientific Interest which straddles the border between Leicestershire and Rutland in central England. The closest towns are Corby and Uppingham.The reservoir was formed by the damming of the Eye Brook. It was built between 1937 and 1940 by Stewarts & Lloyds (supervised by Geoffrey Binnie of Binnie & Partners) to supply water to its Corby steel works. During the Second World War it was used in May 1943 as a practice site for the Dambuster raids, standing in for the Möhne Reservoir; a plaque commemorates this.The reservoir is an important site for wintering wildfowl, such as wigeon, teal, mallard and pochard. Other habitats are marsh, mudflats, grassland, broad-leaved woodland and plantations. Other species reported from the reservoir include osprey, smew, dunlin and European golden plover. In passage periods scarcer species can be attracted to the reservoir's shores and these regularly include curlew sandpiper, ruff and spotted redshank among the expected waders. Vagrants which have occurred include seabirds such a Leach's petrel and Northern gannet, as well as squacco heron, black-crowned night heron American wigeon, black-winged pratincole, killdeer and a variety of other species, mostly associated with wetlands.There is no public access to the reservoir, which is reserved for a trout fishery, but it can be viewed from a public footpath which runs along part of the eastern side.Eyebrook Reservoir is a popular trout fishing venue. The reservoir is regularly stocked with triploid rainbow trout and is home to a native brown trout population. Fly fishing for pike also takes place at the reservoir.

East Carlton is a village and civil parish in the county of Northamptonshire, on the southern ridge overlooking the Welland valley to the north and covers 1,645 acres (666 ha) on a long strip of land. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) west of the town of Corby and is administered as part of North Northamptonshire but was previously in the Corby borough until 2021. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 270, reducing to 259 at the 2011 census. East Carlton is one of the Thankful Villages that suffered no fatalities during World War I. Although in Northamptonshire, the village is in the Leicestershire LE16 postcode area.

Rockingham is a village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England. Close to the border of Leicestershire and Rutland, the village is largely connected to the town of Corby where various local organisations utilise the Rockingham name. Other nearby villages include Cottingham, Great Easton and Caldecott. During the 2001 census, the parish's population was 115 people, falling marginally to 113 at the 2011 Census.The village is the site of Rockingham Castle and gives its name to Rockingham Forest; the title Marquess of Rockingham; Rockingham Primary School in Corby; as well as Rockingham Motor Speedway which is located in North Northamptonshire.

Rockingham railway station was a railway station in Leicestershire, England just south of Caldecott, Rutland. Despite being in Leicestershire and closest to Caldecott, it was named after the village of Rockingham, Northamptonshire, which although one mile distant and smaller than Caldecott, was named because of the proximity location to Rockingham Castle. The station opened in 1850¿ as part of the single track Rugby and Stamford Railway line of the London and North Western Railway (although it joined the Midland Railway at Luffenham). In 1873 the line was doubled and became part of a new Rugby to Peterborough East route. The Great Northern Railway also provided trains between 1880 and 1916. At grouping in 1923 it became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway. Following the closure of the station, the station building itself has now become a private residence, to the south of the village of Caldecott. The stations coal shed is still standing. The Castle Inn, public house in the vicinity, has photographs of the station showing it during usage.

Great Merrible Wood is a 12 hectare nature reserve east of Hallaton in Leicestershire. It is owned and managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, and is part of the Eye Brook Valley Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest.This is a surviving fragment of the medieval Leighfield Forest. It is semi-natural ancient woodland with several unusual herbs, such as broadleaved helleborine, herb paris and violet helleborine. It is claimed to have the most diverse range of fungi in the county.There is access by a footpath from Stockerston Lane.

Rockingham Castle is a former royal castle and hunting lodge in Rockingham Forest, approximately two miles north from the town centre of Corby, Northamptonshire.
