Smithtown is a town in Suffolk County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. The population was 116,296 at the 2020 Census. The census-designated place (CDP) of Smithtown lies within the town's borders.

Caleb Smith State Park Preserve is a state park located in Suffolk County, New York in the United States. The park is near the north shore of Long Island in the town of Smithtown. Prior to its current name, the park was called Nissequogue River State Park, a name now used for park lands on the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center grounds. Previously, it was simply known as the Wyandanch Preserve.

The hospital opened in 1962 as St. John's Smithtown Hospital and its name was changed to its present in 1999. It is a major regional clinical campus for clinical clerkships and postgraduate medical training affiliated with the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States. It has a normal surface area of 109 acres (0.44 km2). It is owned by Suffolk County Parks Department. New Mill Pond Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 15 feet (4.6 m) with a length of 465 feet (142 m). Its capacity is 545 acre-feet (672,000 m3). Normal storage is 308 acre-feet (380,000 m3). It drains an area of 23.02 square miles (59.6 km2).

The population was 144 at the time of the 1930 United States census. The Landing is now listed by the Geographic Names Information System as an unincorporated place in Suffolk County.

Covering an area of 35 square miles (91 km2), SCSD serves approximately 10,000 students in seven elementary schools, three 6-8 middle schools, and two high schools.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 175 East Main Street in Smithtown, Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1825 and the sanctuary is a rectangular, two story frame structure measuring 56 feet (17 m) by 34 feet (10 m). It is sheathed in wood shingles and covered by a gable roof. It features an engaged, square tower surmounted by a tiered, balustraded belfry. The tower has a Palladian window at its second level.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The population was 1,735 at the 2020 census. The village incorporated in 1927.The village shares its post office and ZIP code with the nearby hamlet of Smithtown, which is also the Town Seat of the Town of Smithtown.

Village of the Branch Historic District is a national historic district located at Village of the Branch in Suffolk County, New York. The district has 22 contributing buildings, one contributing structure, and four contributing objects. It consists of 15 houses, a church, and a library built between about 1700 and 1965. Located within the district and listed separately on the register are the Halliock Inn and First Presbyterian Church.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
