Auckland Park Theological Seminary (ATS) is a Pentecostal and Charismatic theological seminary. It is based in the Johannesburg suburb of Auckland Park, and has campuses in Mthatha and Durban, as well as offering distance learning qualifications. Its principal is Prof. WJ Hattingh, also a professor at the University of Johannesburg. It has engaged in theological training and education for the past 50 years, and is the oldest institution of its kind in Southern Africa. It is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority, and offers various certificates, as well as the undergraduate BTh, and the postgraduate BA Honours, MA, and D Lit et Phil, all in Theology.

Lindfield House is a Victorian Museum in Auckland Park, near Johannesburg, South Africa, built circa 1909–1910. The original plans have been lost. The first owners of the house were a Dr and Mrs Stanwell, who lived there until 1924. The house is named after a village in England.Herbert Baker is said to be the designer of the house. The second owner was Henry O'Kelly Webber, a past president of the Chamber of Mines. He greatly enlarged the house, getting A.J. Marshall to design the plans. Marshall worked with Baker and afterwards had his own practice. An extra room was added in 1933 which was designed by Nelly Edwards, the first woman architect in Johannesburg.The third owner was Donald Relton Austin, an engineer, who bought the house in 1944. Then in the 1950s the house was owned by Peter Laband, a stockbroker.

5FM is a South African FM radio station that follows a Top 40 music format and is owned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), South Africa's public broadcaster. The current business manager of PCS combo(5fm and good hope fm) is JD Mostert

Soundcity Radio Network is a Nigerian FM radio and nationwide digital radio station that follows a Top 40 music format and is owned by Alphavision Multimedia, a subsidiary of the Consolidated Media Associates (CMA). Headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, Soundcity Radio Network broadcasts nationally to a youth audience. Soundcity Radio Network music quota leans more to Nigerian music with over 70% of music played from local artists and 30% split between other African and Foreign music.

Radiopark (also known as South African Broadcasting Corporation Building, simply SABC Building) is a skyscraper in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is thirty stories tall and is the headquarters of the South African Broadcasting Corporation.

Auckland Park is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It lies on a gentle slope, and is in close proximity to the suburbs of Melville, Brixton, Westdene and Richmond. Auckland Park is one of the few suburbs close to the Johannesburg city centre that has remained largely unaffected by the recent migration of Johannesburg residents to the city's northern suburbs. Auckland Park is home to a mix of nationalities and cultures, and the suburb is well known as the location of the South African Broadcasting Corporation headquarters.

Brixton is a predominantly working class suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the site of the landmark Sentech Tower, and is near the suburbs of Auckland Park and Melville.

Kingsway Campus Auckland Park, also known as APK, is the largest and most populated of the four campuses of the University of Johannesburg. It is also the seat of the administration and governance body of the university. The campus was formerly the only educational campus of the Rand Afrikaans University. The campus gets its name from a major Johannesburg road, Kingsway Avenue, that runs along the north-east side of the campus. The roads that form the boundary of the campus are (clock-wise) University Road, Ditton Avenue, Ripley Road, Hampton Avenue, Studente Avenue, Akademie Road and Perth Road. Although the official name of the campus implies that it is in Auckland Park, it actually falls just out of that suburb by one street. It is technically in the suburb of Rossmore with the first-year parking lot bordering the suburb of Melville, Gauteng.

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is a public university located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The University of Johannesburg came into existence on 1 January 2005 as the result of a merger between the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU), the Technikon Witwatersrand (TWR) and the Soweto and East Rand campuses of Vista University. Prior to the merger, the Daveyton and Soweto campuses of the former Vista University had been incorporated into RAU. As a result of the merger of Rand Afrikaans University (RAU), it is common for alumni to refer to the university as RAU. The Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UJ is Professor Tshilidzi Marwala who took office on 1 January 2018. Between 2005 and 2017, UJ's Vice-Chancellor and Principal was Prof Ihron Lester Rensburg.The newly emerged institution is one of the largest comprehensive contact universities in South Africa from the 26 public universities that make up the higher education system. UJ has a student population of over 50 000, of which more than 3000 are international students from 80 countries.

Established in 1929, the South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) is a research and policy organisation in South Africa. The institute is "one of the oldest liberal institutions in the country".The institute investigates socioeconomic conditions in South Africa, and aims to address issues such as poverty and inequality, and to promote economic growth through promoting a system of limited government, a market economy, private enterprise, freedom of speech, individual liberty, property rights, and the rule of law. The SAIRR tracks trends in every area of South Africa's development, ranging from business and the economy to crime, living conditions, and politics.

7th Street is a street located in the Johannesburg suburb of Melville. It is lined with many restaurants and bars, which are mostly frequented by students from the nearby University of Johannesburg. It is featured in the South African soap opera 7de Laan.

Richmond is a small, centrally located suburb in Johannesburg whose Edwardian, Art Deco and Mid Century Modern houses are being both gentrified and torn down. This small, well-established region overlooks the leafy suburbs of Westcliff and Parktown North. The area is bordered by Empire Road, Melville and the Auckland Park Johannesburg Country Club. The suburb of Richmond was established in 1893 or 1896. Located approximately 3,5 km northwest of the city hall, the total of 227 stands that made up this middle class settlement were established on a portion of the Braamfontein Farm that Louw Geldenhuys sold for £300 000. Richmond, as a location, was also one of the first sites for Black Entrepreneurs in early Johannesburg. Zulu men from KwaZulu-Natal, members of the AmaWasha (or Zulu Washerment) formed a guild. Laundry work, among Zulu men, was a prestigious occupation and pay was handsome. The AmaWasha had its history in a precolonial artisanal associations which practiced hide dressing In their laundering work, the AmaWasha recalled the specialist craft of hide-dressing. This powerful group of approximately 1200 African washermen, would clean the mining town's dirty laundry. Things began to change with a drought in 1895 In 1902 an American entrepreneur and laundryman, Frank Oscar Nelson established Steam Laundry and competed with two other foreign owned laundry businesses, the Crystal Steam Laundry and the Auckland Park Steam Laundry. However, by 1914, their the amamwasha's efforts had been eclipsed and Rand Steam Laundries, would do the washing, ironing, dying and dry-cleaning of dirty clothes up until 1962. Today, the social history of these early entrepreneurs are recognized in Rand Steam Shopping Centre. While most of the original buildings were illegally demolished in 2008, the remaining structures were declared heritage sites by the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation and amaWasha bricks are inserted into the walls. Richmond residents have a wide variety of amenities in walking distance including 44 Stanley, Love Books, Randsteam and Bamboo Centre and Boxpark inspired 27 Boxes. Soccer sports fields and Melville Koppies maintain an impression of a small highveld town.
