Kewdale Freight Terminal is a large intermodal rail facility in the Perth suburb of Kewdale, Western Australia. Branching off the Kwinana freight railway, it was built in the 1960s to replace the Perth marshalling yard. It initially comprised ten narrow gauge (1067mm) and seven standard gauge (1435mm) arrival roads.The first narrow gauge sidings opened in early 1967; the first standard gauge sidings in November 1968.

Welshpool is an inner southeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located mostly within the City of Canning and partially within the Town of Victoria Park. The area is one of the main industrial areas of Perth, along with Kewdale, Kwinana Beach, Henderson, Malaga, O'Connor, Canning Vale and Osborne Park.It is the location of the Welshpool railway station. Welshpool is visually known for its 3 complexes of silo towers. These house storage of feed products for the poultry and agricultural industries. Welshpool is a traditional industrial suburb partly to the fact of its proximity to Perth Airport and short distance to the Perth CBD.

Australian Islamic College is a multi-campus independent Islamic co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Perth, Western Australia and Adelaide, South Australia. The school was founded in 1986 by Hajji Abdallah Magar, with 50 students. As of 2021, it has 4,000 students and over 400 staff spread over four campuses, three in the Perth suburbs of Kewdale, Thornlie and Dianella, and one in the Adelaide suburb of West Croydon.

Football West is the state governing body for soccer in Western Australia (WA). It is affiliated with Football Australia (FA), the sport's national governing body, and through FA's affiliation to FIFA. Football West's premier competition is the National Premier Leagues Western Australia (NPL WA), which is the highest league in WA and one tier below the national A-League. NPL WA is a division within the National Premier Leagues. Football West is also responsible for running Western Australia's National Training Centre in conjunction with FA and the WA Government's Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC). Football West also runs the Football West State Cup knock-out cup. Since 2014 the two State Cup finalists also qualify for the Australia Cup.

Belmont City College is a comprehensive independent public co-educational high school, located in Belmont, 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Perth, Western Australia. Opening in 1957, the school's catchment area covers most of the City of Belmont and the eastern part of the Town of Victoria Park. As of Semester 1, 2020 the college had an enrolment of 929 students between Year 7 and Year 12. In Semester 1, 2011, 69 students enrolled were Indigenous Australians.From 1957 until 2000, the college was known as Belmont Senior High School.

St Norbert College (SNC) is a private Catholic secondary school in Queens Park, Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1965 by Peter O'Reilly O Praem, John Reynolds O Praem, both Norbertine priests and educators, the school was named after Saint Norbert of Xanten. In 1976, the college became coeducational and currently enrols about 890 students.

Bicton is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia. It is located in Perth's southern suburbs, and named after the riverside suburb of Bicton. Bicton was created by the Western Australian Electoral Commission in a 2015 redistribution, and elected its first member at the 2017 state election. It incorporates areas that previously fell into the seats of Alfred Cove, Bateman, Fremantle and Willagee.

Belmont is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. Belmont is named for the inner eastern Perth suburb of Belmont, which falls within its borders. The seat was in its present incarnation considered a safe Labor seat prior to 2013, and was held by former Labor leader Eric Ripper; however, it fell to Liberal Glenys Godfrey in the Liberal landslide at the 2013 state election. Belmont reverted to its status as a safe Labor seat when Cassie Rowe won it at the 2017 state election.

The Division of Swan is an Australian electoral division located in Western Australia. Swan is a marginal electorate that has swung between both major political parties in the past two decades. It extends across the Swan River from central Perth, and covers most of the area between the Swan and Canning Rivers.The seat includes a mix of incomes and housing types, from low-price flats to affluent suburbs with Swan River views. The electorate includes the campus of Curtin University, the Welshpool and Kewdale industrial areas, and Perth Airport. Swan covers 151 sq. kilometres.The current MP is Zaneta Mascarenhas, a member of the Australian Labor Party. She was elected in the 2022 election.
