The Bellevue Hotel was a hotel on the western corner of George and Alice Streets, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Once Brisbane's premier hotel, it was demolished in 1979 despite considerable public objection. In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, the demolition of the Bellevue Hotel was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a "Defining Moment".

It was designed by J & G Cowlishaw and built from c. 1866 to c. 1867 by Mr Clarke. It is also known as Harris Court. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

Queensland Club is a heritage-listed club house at 19 George Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and built from 1882 to 1888 by J Smith & Sons. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

Parliament House in Brisbane is the meeting place of the Parliament of Queensland, housing its only chamber, the Legislative Assembly. The building was the site of the world's first socialist government in history. It is located on the corner of George Street and Alice Street at Gardens Point in the CBD, and is next to the Queensland University of Technology and City Botanic Gardens.

1 William Street is a skyscraper in William Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and is the third tallest in the city at 259.8 metres (852 ft). The modernist style office building is located in the Brisbane CBD, in close proximity to Parliament House. The building was developed for the Queensland Government as part of the government's plan for a renewed Government Administrative Precinct and to meet its accommodation demands. It was completed in October 2016 with over 5,000 government staff moving in over six weekends.

The Brisbane Synagogue is a heritage-listed synagogue at 98 Margaret Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Arthur Morry and built from 1885 to 1886 by Arthur Midson. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

Margaret Street is a major road in the central business district of Brisbane. The street is one of a number that were named after female members of the royal family shortly after the penal colony was settled. Alice Street lies to the south, while Mary Street runs parallel to the north. Traffic flow along the street is restricted to one direction, towards the north east. From the south an exit ramp from the Riverside Expressway becomes Margaret Street at the William Street intersection.

Queen's Wharf is a multipurpose entertainment and hotel precinct under construction on either side of William Street in the central business district of Brisbane, Australia. As of 2021, the megaproject is the largest development undertaken in Queensland. In July 2015, the Queensland Government announced the Destination Brisbane Consortium of Star Entertainment Group, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium, as the successful tenderer for the redevelopment. The development will feature 2,000 apartments, 1,100 new hotel rooms and a casino. The project also includes a 1,500 seat-ballroom and a sky-deck observation platform with 360 degree views. The redevelopment will include the construction of four high-rise buildings and the Neville Bonner Bridge connecting the precinct to South Bank, as well as the repurposing of existing heritage-listed structures within the site. Treasury Casino will close and be converted into a department store. Work commenced in March 2018 with a scheduled 2022 completion date.The project's location was criticized for its proximity to the historical heart of the city and government seat of power.

It was designed by Frank Longland and built in 1912 by George Edward Day. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 23 April 1999.

Watson Brothers Building is a heritage-listed warehouse at 129 Margaret Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Richard Gailey and built from 1887 to 1918. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 23 April 1999.

In November 1917 during World War I, the Australian Government conducted a raid on the Queensland Government Printing Office in Brisbane. The aim of the raid was to confiscate any copies of the Hansard, the official parliamentary transcript, which documented anti-conscription sentiments that had been aired in the state's parliament.
