Northwood, New South Wales

Northwood House is a heritage-listed former home for mentally handicapped children and now residence at 1 Private Road, Northwood in the Lane Cove Council local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Edmund Blacket and built during 1878 by John and James Eaton. It is also known as Northwood House & Cottage. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

In the year 2000, Bushland Park was placed on the Register of the National Estate, under the Australian Heritage Commission Act, 1975. Average annual rainfall is 1220 mm. Soils are moderately fertile, based on Hawkesbury sandstone and Ashfield Shale. The climate is warm and humid.

Blaxlands Corner is at the intersection of Longueville Road, Northwood Road, and River Road West, in the southern part of Lane Cove adjacent to Longueville. It contains the Longueville Sporting Club, a BP service station, a bottle shop, a travel and cruise agency. Longueville Motor Bus Company built a depot at 16 Northwood Road in 1939 that was closed by successor Deanes Coaches in the mid-1970s.It was named after Francis Blaxland who owned three acres of land in the area from the 1880s and was a grandson of Gregory Blaxland. It was recognised by the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales as a locality in 1995.

Pallister is a heritage-listed former private girls' school, children's home and country residence and now hospital at 95 River Road, Greenwich, Municipality of Lane Cove, New South Wales, Australia. It is also known as Standish and Greenwich Hospital. The property is owned by Anglican Church Property Trust. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Osborne Park is a former urban place on the North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Osborne Park was located in the eastern part of the suburb of Lane Cove. Its designation as an urban place was withdrawn in 1999. The locality was called after 'Osborne Park' (later called 'Kermadec') in Osborne Road, built by the future Prime Minister, Billy Hughes in 1906.The Osborne Park Progress Association, founded in 1926, has developed tennis courts and other projects for community benefit.

Today the suburb is home to some of Australia's most expensive real estate, with the Sydney Morning Herald ranking it as Sydney's fourth most-expensive suburb.

Woolwich is located 11 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Hunter's Hill. Woolwich sits on the peninsula between the Lane Cove River and the Parramatta River, jutting out from Hunters Hill.
