Bad Wimpfen

Bad Wimpfen station is a station in a station in the spa town of Bad Wimpfen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is at the kilometre 33.8 point on the Elsenz Valley Railway. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. The station building is heritage-listed.

The Jagst (German pronunciation: [jakst]) is a right tributary of the Neckar in northern Baden-Württemberg. The source of this 190 km long river is in the hills east of Ellwangen, close to the Bavarian border. The Jagst winds through the towns of Ellwangen, Crailsheim, Kirchberg an der Jagst, Langenburg, Krautheim, Möckmühl and Neudenau. Near Bad Wimpfen, the Jagst flows into the Neckar, a few km downstream from the mouth of the river Kocher, that flows more or less parallel to the Jagst. To the south of the river is the Harthausen Forest.

Offenau (German: [ˈɔfənaʊ] ) is a town in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Bad Friedrichshall Hauptbahnhof is a regionally important junction station and a former border station in the city of Bad Friedrichshall in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The modern Elsenz Valley Railway and Neckar Valley Railway branch from the Franconia Railway here. Until 1993 it was the starting point of the Lower Kocher Valley Railway. Until 13 December 2014 it was called Bad Friedrichshall-Jagstfeld station.

The Battle of Wimpfen took place during the Palatinate campaign period of the Thirty Years' War on 6 May 1622 near Wimpfen. The combined forces of the Catholic League and the Spanish Empire under Marshal Tilly and Gonzalo de Córdoba defeated the Protestant forces of Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Baden.

The Kocher (German pronunciation: [ˈkɔxɐ] ) is a 169 km (105 mi)-long right tributary of the Neckar in the north-eastern part of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The name "Kocher" originates from its Celtic name "cochan" and probably means winding, meandering river. Its total drainage area is 1,960 km2 (760 sq mi). The Kocher rises in the eastern foothills of the Swabian Alb from two karst springs, the Schwarzer (black) Kocher and the Weißer (white) Kocher, that join in Unterkochen near Aalen. The Schwarzer Kocher is approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) long. Its source discharge varies between 50 L/s and 4,000 L/s with an average of 680 L/s. The 3.3 km (2.1 mi) long Weißer Kocher has an average discharge of 400 L/s.

Untereisesheim is a municipality in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Gundelsheim (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʊndl̩sˌhaɪ̯m] ) is a town in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Neckar, 17 km northwest of Heilbronn. The town centre retains its narrow mediaeval street plan, as well as much of its mediaeval timber architecture. Pickled gherkin manufacture and wine-growing are the two principal agricultural products, and the Neckarsulm-Gundelsheim Weingärtnergenossenschaft (vintner's co-operative) is reputed to be the oldest in all of Germany. The most remarkable building in Gundelsheim is Castle Horneck, a former residence of the Teutonic order, now hosting the Transylvanian Museum.

Bad Friedrichshall (German: [baːt ˈfʁiːdʁɪçshal] ) is a town in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated at the confluences of the Jagst and of the Kocher into the Neckar, some 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Heilbronn. Bad Friedrichshall arose by the connection of Kochendorf and Jagstfeld in 1933, and is famous for its salt mine.

Obereisesheim transmitter was a facility of SWR used for mediumwave broadcasting on 711 kHz with a power of 5 kilowatts. It was located near Neckarsulm, Germany. Obereisesheim transmitter, which is situated at 49°11'28" N and 9°11'47" E, used as aerial a 74 metre tall ground-fed, insulated mast radiator, which was a lattice steel mast with triangular cross section and guyed in 3 levels. Obereisesheim transmitter worked on the same frequency as Ulm-Jungingen transmitter. It was switched off at 1 July 2011 and demolished in October 2018.

The Sulm is a river in the Heilbronn district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is an unnavigable right tributary of the Neckar. It rises in the Löwenstein Mountains and after 26.3 kilometres (16.3 mi) distance and 315 metres (1,033 ft) elevation drop flows into the Neckar at Bad Friedrichshall, near Untereisesheim and Neckarsulm. Its valley together with its tributary valleys is also known as the Weinsberg Valley (Weinsberger Tal), after Weinsberg, which is located there. The medieval region of Sulmgau, as well as the city of Neckarsulm, were named for it. The upper valley of the Sulm is a protected area.
