Bath Covered Bridge

Bath is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,077 at the 2020 census, unchanged from the 2010 census. Now a tourist destination and commuter town for Littleton, the town is noted for its historic architecture, including the Brick Store and three covered bridges. Bath includes the village of Swiftwater and part of the district known as Mountain Lakes.

The Brick Store, at 21 Lisbon Road in Bath, New Hampshire, claims to be the oldest continuously operating general store in the United States.

The Wild Ammonoosuc River is a tributary of the Ammonoosuc River, about 15 miles (24 km) long, in northwestern New Hampshire in the United States. Via the Ammonoosuc River, it is part of the watershed of the Connecticut River, which flows to Long Island Sound. The Wild Ammonoosuc flows for its entire length in Grafton County. It rises in the White Mountains at Kinsman Notch in the town of Woodstock and flows generally northwestwardly through the towns of Easton and Landaff to Bath, where it joins the Ammonoosuc. New Hampshire Route 112 follows the river for its entire length.

The Goodall-Woods Law Office is an historic former office building on United States Route 302 in Bath, New Hampshire. The modest two-story brick building, now a private residence, was built in 1816 by Ira Goodall, and is an unusual local example of Federal architecture. It is particularly distinctive for its two-story rounded bay, which projects from the front (street facade). The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Jeremiah Hutchins Tavern is a historic former tavern on United States Route 302 in northwestern Bath, New Hampshire. Built by 1799 by one of the town's early settlers, the building (now a private residence) is one of the town's finest surviving examples of transitional Georgian-Federal architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Swiftwater Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge which carries Porter Road over the Wild Ammonoosuc River in Bath, New Hampshire. Built in 1849, it is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges, and a well-preserved example of the Paddleford truss design. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Mountain Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Haverhill and Bath in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. It had a population of 504 at the 2020 census.The Haverhill portion of the community is an independent incorporated district, with its own water system, planning board, and recreation program, and is guided by a three-member elected board of commissioners and annual district meeting.

Maura Murray (born May 4, 1982) is an American woman who disappeared on the evening of February 9, 2004, after a car crash on Route 112 near Woodsville, New Hampshire, a village in the town of Haverhill. Her whereabouts remain unknown. She was a 21-year-old nursing student completing her junior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst at the time of her disappearance.

The Daniel Carr House is a historic house on Brier Hill Road in Haverhill, New Hampshire. Built about 1796, the house is most notable for the high quality folk murals drawn on its walls, most likely by the itinerant artist Rufus Porter between 1825 and 1830. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Haverhill–Bath Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge over the Ammonoosuc River joining Bath and Woodsville, New Hampshire. Formerly used to carry New Hampshire Route 135, the bridge was idled in 1999. Restored in 2004, it is now open to foot traffic only. It is believed to be the oldest covered bridge in the state. The Haverhill–Bath Bridge is located in the northwestern corner of the town of Haverhill, connecting the village of Woodsville to a rural area in the southwestern corner of Bath. The bridge was built in 1829 with funding provided by both towns. It was built by Moses Abbott and Leonard Walker after Airel Miner, the first choice to supervise the construction, stepped down. The bridge is a Town lattice truss bridge with two spans, resting on stone and concrete abutments, and a stone pier. The road bed is 256 feet 8 inches (78.23 m) long and 14 ft 4 in (4.37 m) wide, and the roof is 277 ft 8 in (84.63 m) long, covering not just the bridge but also framed entrances on both sides. There is a sidewalk (not part of the original construction) on the east (upstream) side of the bridge that is 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) wide. The roof on that side is extended over the sidewalk, giving the roof profile that of a saltbox house. The downstream side is finished in vertical board siding, with diamond openings spaced along its length and two larger rectangular openings near the ends.The bridge has survived a number of floods, most notably in 1927, when the lattice work was pierced by a tree trunk, and a barn was carried into the structure. It has been renovated multiple times, most recently in 2004. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It is commemorated by New Hampshire Historical Marker No. 190.

Woodsville is a census-designated place (CDP) and the largest village in the town of Haverhill in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States, along the Connecticut River at the mouth of the Ammonoosuc River. The population was 1,431 at the 2020 census. Although North Haverhill is now the county seat of Grafton County, the village of Woodsville has traditionally been considered the county seat, as the county courthouse was originally located there. The county buildings are now located halfway between Woodsville and the village of North Haverhill to the south.

The Ammonoosuc River is a 55-mile-long (89 km) river in northwestern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Connecticut River, which flows to Long Island Sound. Ammonoosuc is Abnaki for "small, narrow fishing place".The Ammonoosuc rises on the western slope of Mount Washington, in Sargent's Purchase in the White Mountains of southern Coos County. One branch of the river is the outlet of the Lakes of the Clouds in the saddle between Mount Washington and Mount Monroe. Leaving the vicinity of the Presidential Range, the river flows westwardly into Grafton County, where it turns southwestwardly. Along its course the Ammonoosuc passes through Chandler's Purchase, Bean's Grant, and Crawford's Purchase; and the towns of Carroll, Bethlehem, Littleton, Lisbon, Landaff, Bath, and Haverhill to the village of Woodsville, where it flows into the Connecticut River. It collects the Gale River in Lisbon, and the Wild Ammonoosuc River in Bath.
