The Jo Richardson Community School, often referred to as Jo Richardson or simply JRCS, is a secondary school in Dagenham, East London. The school is named in honour of MP Jo Richardson.

Ripple Lane TMD, BR depot code RL, was a traction maintenance depot located to the south of Castle Green, London, England. It was located 9 miles 7 chains (14.6 km) east of Fenchurch Street station near the marshalling yard between Dagenham Dock and Barking stations. The actual depot was situated between the running lines with the up line to the south of the depot and the down line to the north.

Castle Green is a proposed railway station in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Plans for a station at the site, initially called Renwick Road, have been in development since at least 2002. The new station was first proposed to be between Barking and Dagenham Dock on the London, Tilbury and Southend line. In 2017 a station was safeguarded on the extension of the Gospel Oak to Barking line between Barking and Barking Riverside. The station would serve the communities of Castle Green, Thames View Estate and new housing developments in the area.

Barking RFC is an English rugby union team based in Barking, east London and currently play in the ninth tier of the English rugby union league system, Essex 1.

Goresbrook School is a mixed all-through free school in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The school is run by the United Learning organisation. The school opened in September 2014 on the site of the Goresbrook Leisure Centre. At full capacity the school will accommodate 1,355 children aged 3–18.

Becontree is a London Underground station located to the south of Becontree in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, east London. It is on the District line between Upney to the west and Dagenham Heathway to the east. It is 9.1 kilometres (5.7 mi) along the line from the eastern terminus at Upminster and 25.1 kilometres (15.6 mi) to Earl's Court in central London where the line divides into numerous branches. It is in Travelcard Zone 5.The station was originally opened as Gale Street Halt in 1926 by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway on the existing route from Fenchurch Street in London toward Southend. The station was renamed and completely rebuilt in 1932 with an additional pair of platforms to serve the electric District Railway (now the District line) local service. Main-line services ceased to call at the station in the 1960s, leaving only two platforms in operation.

Ripple Nature Reserve is an 8.3-hectare (21-acre) Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and Local Nature Reserve in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is owned by the borough council.The site is a mixture of woodland, scrub and grassland. Most soils in London are acidic, but this site has a very alkaline soil due to the dumping of fuel ash, and can therefore support locally unusual plants. The most important of these are pyramidal and southern marsh orchids, grey club rush and wild basil. The site also has large numbers of rabbits and goldfinches. Some rare species of insects are present, including emerald damselfly.Access is at the corner of Renwick Road and Thames Road.

Barking is a constituency in Greater London represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. Since its formation in 1945, it has consistently returned a member of the Labour Party as its Member of Parliament (MP). Since 1994, its MP has been Margaret Hodge.

Mayesbrook Park is a 43 hectare public park in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is owned and managed by the borough council. The southern end, which is mainly a large lake, is a Local Nature Reserve. The area covered by the park was once part of the historic Manor of Jenkins, seat of the Fanshawe family. For reasons which remain obscure, the park is sometimes nicknamed "Matchstick Island".The park, which was opened in 1934, was created to meet the need for open space for the London County Council's Becontree Housing Estate. The park has a car park, a children's play area, football pitches, a cricket pitch and pavilion, an athletic track, tennis courts, basketball court, and lakes. The Mayesbrook Park project has used green infrastructure engineering to address flood water management needs.The southern end has two large lakes which are rich in wildlife, newly planted woodland and rough grassland. The Mayes Brook runs along the western edge. There is access from Lodge Avenue. Mayesbrook is also a ward of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 10,342.

Scrattons Eco Park or Scrattons Farm Eco Park is a small nature reserve in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is owned and managed by the council. It was formerly marshland and allotments, but by the late 1990s the former allotments had become overgrown and inaccessible, and it was decided to convert it into an ecological park. It now has blocks of bramble with grass paths, preserving existing trees and shrubs. The aim is to create a range of habitats for plants, birds, insects and mammals.In 2006 Scrattons Ecopark and extension was designated a local nature reserve with an area of two hectares. The entrance to the park is by a footpath at the end of Morrison Road. There is no public access to the extension off Levine Gardens.

Parsloes Manor was a manor house in what is now known as Parsloes Park in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. In 1585, it was described as containing 10 messuages, a cottage, 10 gardens, 2 orchards, 100 acres of arable land, 20 acres of meadow, 50 of pasture 30 of wood and 40 rent.In 1619, William Fanshawe purchased the house and 91 acres attached to it for £1150 from Edward Osborne. The house was owned by the Fanshawe family for over 300 years.In 1819, it was enlarged, the walls were faced with new brick and the windows were replaced in a neo-gothic manner. The house fell into disrepair and was demolished in 1925.

Thames was a ward in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham from 1978 to 2022. It returned two councillors until 2002 and then three councillors to Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council. The ward included the large Barking Riverside redevelopment area.
