Auburn railway station is located on the Main Suburban line, serving the Sydney suburb of Auburn. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 Western and T2 Inner West & Leppington line services. The station serves one of the most multi-culturally diverse suburbs in the city. To the west of the station lies Auburn Railway Signal Box, UGL Unipart's Maintrain maintenance facility, the Auburn Maintenance Centre and a Pacific National depot.

Sydney Adventist College is an independent Seventh-Day Adventist co-educational early learning and primary day school, located in Auburn, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1919 at Burwood, Sydney Adventist College was open to students from all religious and cultural backgrounds. Since December 2012 it has only catered to Prep to Year 6 students at the Macquarie Street Auburn Campus. The School is operated by the Greater Sydney Conference (GSC). It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.The school is affiliated with the health food company Sanitarium, The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), the Sydney Adventist Hospital and the Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Sydney. It is also related to Avondale University College, a tertiary college located in Cooranbong.

Trinity Catholic College in Auburn is a dual-campus independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in the inner western suburbs of Auburn and Regents Park, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Students in Years 7 and 8 are located at the Regents Park campus, and students from Years 9 to 12 are located at the Auburn campus. The college follows the religious tradition of the Marist Brothers, founded in 1817 by French priest and saint Marcellin Champagnat.

The Auburn Gallipoli Mosque is an Ottoman-style mosque in Auburn, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. More than 500 worshippers attend every day and around 2,000 worshippers attend the weekly special Friday prayer at the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque.

Auburn Railway Signal Box is a heritage-listed railway signal box on the Main Suburban railway line, Auburn, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by New South Wales Government Railways (NSWGR) and built in 1954 by the NSW Department of Railways. It is also known as Railway Signal Box. The property is owned by RailCorp. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The rear of the building faces Rawson Street, Auburn, opposite 171 Rawson Street.

Al-Faisal College (abbreviated as AFC) is currently the largest Islamic school in Australia with 2800 students. It is also a dual-campus independent Islamic co-educational primary and secondary day school, with campuses in Auburn and Campbelltown, both suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Operated by Al-Faisal College Ltd, the college was established in 1998 at the Auburn campus, later expanded to the Campbelltown campus in 2013 and Liverpool campus in 2015. The college announced in 2020 that they will be opening up a fourth campus in Lakemba, with construction to start late November 2020.

The Offset Alpine fire was a 1993 fire that destroyed a Sydney printing plant owned by the company Offset Alpine Printing Ltd. Investigations of the incident by the police and by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission spanned over ten years, amid suspicions that the printing plant was burnt down as part of an insurance fraud. It also gained attention because of the high profile of individuals involved.

Lidcombe Oval is a playing field and velodrome in the Western Sydney suburb of Lidcombe. It is part of Wyatt Park. It is situated in the Western side of Church Street, on the northern side of the railway line. The outfield has a capacity of more than 20,000 spectators. The infield is used mainly for football matches of various codes. The velodrome hosts track cycling events and has been the home of Lidcombe-Auburn Cycle Club since 1947, and Neo Cycling Club since 2015.

Auburn Hospital is a 155-bed community hospital in Auburn, a western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It provides basic 24-hour emergency facilities, as well as a medical, surgical, paediatrics, and maternity facilities as well as coronary care and intensive care facilities. This facility is part of the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). Auburn Hospital is health facility on the eastern border of Sydney West Area Health Service. Auburn Health claims to be an Australian Council of Health Care Standards (ACHS) accredited organisation.As of 2010, Auburn Hospital is a teaching hospital for the University of Notre Dame Sydney School of Medicine.

Electricity Substation No. 167 is a heritage-listed electrical substation at 93 Parramatta Road, Auburn, Cumberland Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed and built from 1924 to 1929 by the Municipal Council of Sydney, with the City Architect being responsible for the design. It is also known as #167 'AUBURN' 33KV ZONE SUBSTATION. The property is owned by Ausgrid. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 May 2008.

Clyburn railway station is a demolished railway station in Sydney, Australia. It was a railway employee only island platform located between the Up and Down Suburban Lines, between Clyde and Auburn stations on the Main Western line. It served Clyde Yard on the up side of the line and the former New South Wales Government Railways workshops on the down side. This station only had trains stopping at the beginning and ending of workshops work times but a lantern was in the stations awning for railway employees to "flag" down trains if they were working at other than normal workshop hours. Also there was a footbridge installed for railway employees to gain access to both Clyde Yard and the railway workshops, however this footbridge was dismantled due largely to safety issues in 2006. There was no public access available. As part of the demolition of this station, the awnings, trees and top of the station were taken out on the week of 20–27 December 2009. Currently, only the station foundations and also station ground which connect stanchions to the earth are there at the station site. In February 2016, a State Transit bus guide accidentally included the demolished station in a region map, forcing the operator to recall and reissue the map.

Liberty Plains Parish is one of the 57 parishes of Cumberland County, New South Wales, a cadastral unit for use on land titles. It is bounded by Parramatta Road in the north; the boundary between Flemington and Homebush, a small part of Cooks River and Liverpool Road (Hume Highway) in the east; the Hume Highway also in the south; and Woodville Road in the west. It includes the suburbs of Homebush West (Flemington), part of Strathfield, Auburn, Regents Park, Potts Hill, Sefton, Chester Hill, Bass Hill and Lidcombe. It also includes the Rookwood Cemetery. Before the parish was proclaimed in 1835, the Liberty Plains district was in the same area. The name had been given when the first settlers had desired a settlement midway between Parramatta and Sydney city. The name is still used on a motor inn in the area. In the 1851 census there were 49 houses and 270 people in the Liberty Plains parish.
