The Wendefurth Dam (German: Talsperre Wendefurth) near Wendefurth in the Harz is one of the dams downstream of the Rappbode Dam, that provides flood protection as well as impounding the River Bode to provide the lower reservoir for the Wendefurth Power Station. In addition it is a bathing lake and also supports fish farming.

Wendefurth Power Station (German: Pumpspeicherwerk Wendefurth) is a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station on the reservoir of the Wendefurth Dam near Wendefurth in the Harz mountains of central Germany. The power station has an upper reservoir on the mountain top which stores the water. The two penstocks have a diameter of 3.4 metres (11 ft). The two installed Francis pump turbines can deliver 80 MW. As of 2012 the plant has since its commissioning in 1967 produced 4,105 GWh, corresponding to an average annual production of 91 GWh.

Allrode is a village and a former municipality in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Thale. There are two prominent trees - the Hohle Eiche ("hollow oak") and Adlereiche ("eagle oak") - in the woods northeast of the village that were checkpoints 57 and 58 in the Harzer Wandernadel hiking network. Today checkpoint 57 is the Echowiese Allrode.

The Luisenburg was a small palace that existed from 1728 to 1945 near Blankenburg (Harz) in central Germany. It was built in 1728 on the Calviusberg hilltop above Blankenburg Castle as a belvedere for Duchess Christine Louise of Brunswick, and was named after her. The Luisenburg was a single-storey timber-framed building with an octagonal hall surrounded by eight small rooms. In 1945 it was demolished due to its advanced state of dilapidation. Today there are some remains of the exterior walls and its staircase. A refuge hut, that also serves as checkpoint no. 77 on the hiking trail network of the Harzer Wandernadel, stands on the site of the Luisenburg. Great Blankenburg Castle (German: Schloss Blankenburg) was built on the limestone hill of Blankenstein (305 m above sea level (NN)) in the town of Blankenburg in the district of Harz in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Nearby is the Little Castle with its Baroque garden, tea house and museum, the town wall, the pheasant garden, the castle park and the castle pond.

The Ziegenkopf is a hill, 400.7 m above sea level (NN), near Blankenburg in the Harz mountains in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The Bode Gorge (German: Bodetal) is a 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) long ravine that forms part of the Bode valley between Treseburg and Thale in the Harz Mountains of central Germany. The German term, Bodetal (literally "Bode Valley"), is also used in a wider sense to refer to the valleys of the Warme and Kalte Bode rivers that feed the River Bode. At the Bode Gorge, the River Bode, which rises on the highest mountain in the Harz, the Brocken, has cut deeply into the hard Ramberg granite rock. The ravine is about 140 m deep at Treseburg and some 280 m deep at Thale where it breaks out into the Harz Foreland. The Bode Gorge was designated a nature reserve as early as 5 March 1937; its boundaries being subsequently expanded. With an area of, currently 473.78 hectares (1,170.7 acres), it is one of the largest nature reserves in Saxony-Anhalt.
