Slependen

Tanum is a parish and district in the municipality of Bærum in Akershus, Norway. Its population (2007) is 2,751.

Slependen Station (Norwegian: Slependen holdeplass) is a railway station on the Drammen Line located at Slependen in Bærum, Norway. Situated 15.82 kilometers (9.83 mi) from Oslo Central Station, it consists of an island platform and serves the L1 line of the Oslo Commuter Rail operated by Vy. It had 900 daily passengers in 2008. The first station at Slependen was located 270 meters (890 ft) further west and opened on 11 September 1873, a year after the Drammen Line. It was variously known as Slæbenden and Slæbende until it took its present name in 1921. A new station building was erected in 1916 and demolished in 1960. With the doubling of the Drammen Line, Slependen was rebuilt 90 meters (300 ft) to the east, still on a curve, as an elevated station. This station was designed by Ina Backer. That station and the one to the east, Jong Station, were closed on 23 May 1993 and replaced by the current station, designed by Arne Henriksen.

Jong Station (Norwegian: Jong holdeplass) was a railway station on the Drammen Line, located at Jong in Bærum, Norway. It served as a station for the Oslo Commuter Rail between 31 May 1959 and its closing on 23 May 1993. The station, situated 15.39 kilometers (9.56 mi) from Oslo Central Station, consisted of two side platforms. Demands for a station were first articulated in the 1930s. During construction there arose a disagreement regarding the name, with the local residents' association preferring Jongsbru. In 1988 the railway proposed merging Jong with the old Slependen Station, with a new Slependen Station be built between the two.

Jong is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Mainly a residential area, the population in 2007 was 4,778.This residential area is located west of the city Sandvika, on top of the hill Jongsåsen. The district has a primary school, Jong skole. The traffic is low compared to other local residential areas.

Sandvika () is the administrative centre of the municipality of Bærum in Norway. It was declared a city by the municipal council in Bærum on 4 June 2003.Sandvika is situated approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) west of Oslo. It is the main transportation hub for Western Bærum, and has a combined bus and railway station. Sandvika is also one of the stops along the route of the Airport Express Train. Sandvika also has Scandinavia's largest super mall, Sandvika Storsenter, with 190 stores and a total area of 60,000 square meters or 650,000 square feet. On 13 March 2013, the previously pedestrianized main street was opened for car traffic and on-street parking. Sandvika used to be home to the BI Norwegian Business School, which moved to new surroundings in Nydalen, Oslo in August 2005. The building was, after some refurbishing, converted into the home of Sandvika High School. Another school in Sandvika is Norges Realfagsgymnas NRG (Norwegian school of maths and science), a combined secondary school and high school. It lies in Skytterdalen and offers education in maths and science. The nearby island of Kalvøya is a place for recreation. The Boat Sport House is located on Kalvøya, and is used by Bærum KK and Bærum RK. It also hosted one of the best known Norwegian music festivals Kalvøyafestivalen. A small islet in Sandviksbukta, outside Sandvika, is called Danmark. Danes who live in the area join every year on 5 June Denmark's national day to celebrate. It has been debate on the Danish flag on "Danmark", but currently it still is there.

The Hamang Tunnel (Norwegian: Hamangtunnelen) is a road tunnel that runs under Hamang northwest of Sandvika in Norway. It forms a part of the European route E16. It was named Hamangporten in 1991, but the name was changed after two months at the demand of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, who deemed the name Hamangporten to be "most unfortunate".

The Kjørbo Tunnel (Norwegian: Kjørbotunnelen) is the name of a road tunnel that runs through the hill Kjørbokollen west of Sandvika in Norway. It forms a part of the European route E16, the route branching off of the European route E18 immediately after the tunnel's southern entrance. It was opened in 1991, and was financed by Oslo Package 1.

Sandvika Storsenter is a super-regional mall located in Sandvika outside of Oslo, Norway. It is owned by the Olav Thon Group (Olav Thon Gruppen) which in turn is owned by the Olav Thon Foundation (Olav Thon Stiftelsen).The mall opened October 14, 1993, and was then 24,000 square metres. It was expanded in 1997, making it the largest shopping mall in Norway at the time. Today, after one main extension in 2007, the mall is 60,000 square metres. For a good while it had 190 stores; today that number has increased to 197.Sandvika Storsenter is visited by an average of more than 25,000 customers every day, 150,000 per week and 8 million a year. The highest registered turnover and visitors for a single day, December 21, 2009, was NOK 33.95 million and 57,859 visitors. That same year, week 51 had a turnover of NOK 190.9 million and 306,000 visitors. The mall's revenue in 2013 was NOK 3.18 billion. As of 2011, some of the largest and most prominent stores included Ultra, Hennes & Mauritz, Clas Ohlson, Elixia, Lefdal, XXL, Norli, Bolia and Barnas Hus.

Løkke Bridge (Norwegian: Løkke bro; Nynorsk: Løkke bru), across the Sandvikselva river at Sandvika, is the first cast iron bridge in Norway. It is the subject of a painting by Claude Monet.

Emma Hjorth is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Together with the district Skui, its population (2007) is 6,281.

The Ringerike Line (Norwegian: Ringeriksbanen or Ringeriksbana) is a proposed 40-kilometre (25 mi) extension of the Bergen Line from Jong, Sandvika to Hønefoss, Norway. In 2022, the project was postponed; the government has no commitment to any timeframe (as of Q4 2022).The proposed line would reduce travel from Oslo to Bergen by 60 kilometres (37 mi) and 50 minutes. Currently trains from the Bergen Line to Oslo must run via Drammen on the Randsfjord Line and the Drammen Line, or via Roa on the Roa–Hønefoss Line and the Gjøvik Line.The project was presented as part of the original proposal of the Bergen Line when approved by Parliament in 1894, but due to the narrow gauge on the Drammen Line at the time, a temporary solution via Roa was chosen instead. Later proposals have been launched, and parliament has voted over it in 1954, 1978, 1984 and 1992; only the last being passed, but not followed up by funding, and Bane NOR has not allocated any date to start construction; detailed plans have however been produced.
