Grampound

Grampound Town Hall is a municipal building in Fore Street, Grampound, Cornwall, England. The structure, which now accommodates a heritage centre, is a Grade II listed building.

Grampound in Cornwall was a borough constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England, then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1826. It was represented by two Members of Parliament.

Grampound with Creed (Cornish: Ponsmeur a'byth Sen Krida) is a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The two major settlements in the parish are the ancient town of Grampound and the smaller village of Creed (Cornish: Krida). The larger settlement, Grampound, is situated approximately six miles (10 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 935 483, and Creed is one mile (1.6 km) south at SW 934 472. Grampound with Creed is bordered by St Stephen-in-Brannel parish to the north, St Ewe parish to the east and Cuby parish to the south. On the west, the parish boundary generally follows the River Fal, which separates it from Probus parish. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 850.

Creed (Cornish: Krid) is a village in the civil parish of Grampound with Creed in Cornwall, England. It lies less than a mile south of Grampound and roughly midway between Truro and St Austell.

Truro and St Austell was a county constituency in Cornwall represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament from its 1997 creation to its 2010 abolition by Matthew Taylor of the Liberal Democrats, who was appointed a life peer in the House of Lords following his service as a Member of Parliament (MP). The constituency elected one MP by the first past the post system of election.

The Roseland Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Tregony in the English county of Cornwall. The school was established in 1963, and became a comprehensive in 1976. Previously a foundation school administered by Cornwall Council, Roseland Community College converted to academy status on 1 April 2011. The school continues to coordinate with Cornwall Council for admissions. The Roseland Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. The school also offers some vocational courses in conjunction with Truro and Penwith College and Cornwall College.

Cuby (Cornish: Sen Kubi) was formerly a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, situated approximately 7 miles (12 km) southwest of St Austell. The parish was created in 1866 from the part of the ancient parish of Tregony which lay outside Tregony's borough boundaries. It was named after the parish church, dedicated to St Cuby, which stands on the north-eastern edge of Tregony, but was just outside the old borough boundary. In 2021 the parish was reunited with Tregony to form a new parish called Tregony with Cuby. The parish of Cuby was always rural, with no significant settlements. At the 2011 census (the last before the parish's abolition) it had a population of 178.

Trewithen House is a Georgian country house in Probus, Cornwall, England. The Palladian house was built by London-based architect Thomas Edwards in 1723. The house is listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England, and its gardens are Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Tregony (Cornish: Trerigoni), is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Tregony was formerly a civil parish, but in 2021 it was merged with the neighbouring parish of Cuby to form a new parish called Tregony with Cuby. Tregony lies on the east bank of the River Fal, and is 6 miles (10 km) east of Truro. The Fal was historically navigable up to a port at Tregony. The village today has a shop with post office facilities, the Kings Arms pub, a sports and social club and two churches. Tregony with Cuby parish also covers rural areas surrounding Tregony village, with several outlying farms. The part of the parish west of the River Fal was formerly the separate parish of Cornelly, which was absorbed into Tregony parish in 1934. At the 2021 census the population of Tregony with Cuby parish was 1,093 and the population of the Tregony built up area was 788.

Coombe (Cornish: Komm) is a village in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated approximately four miles (6 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 951 514 . It is in the civil parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel.

Grampound Road (Cornish: Fordh Ponsmeur) is a village in the parish of Ladock, Cornwall, England, 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-west of Grampound. The railway station of that name was opened on 4 May 1859 and closed in 1964. A small village known as Grampound Road grew up around the railway station and continues to expand despite the station closing (along with other stations on the line) on 5 October 1964. An annual horse fair was held in the 19th century; organised by Mr Joseph H Griggs of Nantellan. The 1882 fair was at that time considered to be the most successful, with events including hurdle and bank jumping. Grampound Road is home to Grampound Road Cricket Club. Grampound Road is also home to one shop which also contains a post office. Grampound Road Post Office also serves Probus and Ladock through an outreach program. Grampound Road has a children's play area located within the recreation ground next to the cricket club. Grampound Road has a primary school, Grampound Road Church of England School, and is overseen by the Rainbow Trust Academy, run by the diocese of Truro. The school has four classrooms and approximately 100 pupils. There is a small industrial estate located at the new stables end of the village. There is a small business area located opposite the shop, consisting of small office style units and a nursery catering for children aged from babies to 5 years old.
