Cougar Mountain

Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park is a regional park in King County, Washington, near the towns of Bellevue and Issaquah. The park was established in June 1983 to protect the central core of Cougar Mountain, the park covers 3,115 acres (12.61 km2) with 38 miles (61 km) of hiking trails and 12 miles (19 km) of equestrian trails.

KNHC (89.5 FM) is a Class C1 high school radio station based in Seattle, Washington. It is the world's oldest, still remaining, dance music station. C89.5 offers a hybrid of current-based EDM product and Rhythmic Top 40 remixes, as well as new dance songs that are potential future hits – all of which are presented in a Top 40-like direction. It is one of six stations monitored by Nielsen BDS for inclusion in Billboard magazine's weekly Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Its best coverage is in the Seattle metro area.The C in C89.5 stands for Communications. KNHC broadcasts in the HD Radio format.

KPLZ-FM (101.5 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Seattle, Washington. KPLZ is owned and operated by Lotus Communications and airs a hot adult contemporary radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. KPLZ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 99,000 watts (100,000 watts with beam tilt). Its transmitter is located on Cougar Mountain, and the studios and offices are co-located with former sister station KOMO-TV within KOMO Plaza (formerly Fisher Plaza) in the Lower Queen Anne section of Seattle, directly across the street from the Space Needle.

KCMS (105.3 FM, "Spirit 105-3") is an FM radio station licensed to Edmonds, Washington, serving the Seattle market and broadcasting a Contemporary Christian music format. The station broadcasts at 105.3 MHz from Seattle (with a transmitter on Cougar Mountain in Issaquah), and includes a translator broadcasting on 92.1 MHz (K221BG) in Aberdeen, Washington. It is owned and operated by Crista Ministries. Studios are located in the Seattle suburb of Shoreline. KCMS broadcasts in HD Radio. KCMS (HD) is a simulcast of "Spirit 105-3" on HD 1. "Pure Music Radio" is on HD 2. KCIS 630 AM is simulcast in HD on HD 3.The station is ranked 18th in the Seattle-Tacoma Arbitron PPM ratings data for August 2018 with 2.5 percent of the market share.

KRWM (106.9 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Bremerton, Washington, serving the Seattle/Puget Sound region. It is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, and airs an adult contemporary radio format. The station switches to all-Christmas music from mid-November to December 25. KRWM broadcasts with 49,000 watts of effective radiated power (ERP) on a tower 1,302 feet in height above average terrain (HAAT). Its transmitter is located near Issaquah on Cougar Mountain, with its studios and offices located at Newport Corporate Center in Bellevue. KRWM broadcasts in HD. Its HD-2 signal plays year-round Christmas music (the main station plays Christmas music as well from mid-November through Christmas Day), and its HD-3 signal simulcasts sister station KIXI.

KJR-FM (93.3 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to Seattle, Washington. The station is owned and operated by iHeartMedia. The studios and offices are on Elliott Avenue West in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood northwest of downtown. The transmitter is located on Cougar Mountain.

KJEB (95.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Seattle, Washington. It broadcasts a classic hits radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The radio studios and offices are in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood northwest of downtown. KJEB has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is on 173rd Avenue SE in Issaquah, Washington, on Cougar Mountain. KJEB broadcasts using HD Radio technology. The HD-2 digital subchannel simulcasts the sports radio format on KJR; the HD-3 subchannel carries the iHeartRadio soft adult contemporary service known as "The Breeze."

Open Window School is an independent school for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade who have been formally identified as intellectually gifted. It is located in Bellevue, Washington, on Cougar Mountain and accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS). Its 7.6-acre campus is located at 6128 168th Pl SE, Bellevue. Open Window currently has 355 enrolled students. The lower school student-teacher ratio is 9:1, with an average of 18 students and 2 teachers in each classroom. The middle school, covering grades 5-8, enrolls approximately 140 students.

Cougar Mountain Zoo is an 11-acre (4.5 ha) zoological park located in Issaquah, Washington, on the north slope of Cougar Mountain about 15 miles (24 km) east of Seattle. It is located near the border of the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. The zoo focuses on endangered species including lemurs from Madagascar, Bengal tigers, and endangered birds from various parts of the world. It was founded in 1972 by Peter and Marcie Rittler who operated it admission-free for its first 15 years. In 1990, the founders donated it to the Zoological Society of Washington which assumed the zoo's management and fundraising endeavors. As of 2009, Peter Rittler continued in the zoo's management.

Washington's 41st legislative district is one of forty-nine districts in Washington state for representation in the state legislature. It covers all of Mercer Island and Newcastle, with portions of Bellevue, Renton, Issaquah, and Sammamish. The district's legislators are state senator Lisa Wellman and state representatives Tana Senn (position 1) and My-Linh Thai (position 2), all Democrats.

Coal Creek is a creek in Bellevue, Washington, United States, on Seattle's Eastside. It is named for the coal mining industry prominent in the area in the 19th century. There is a popular trail which parallels the creek, allowing views of defunct coal mining equipment and even some bits of coal sitting on the ground in spots. The source of Coal Creek is 1,400 feet (425 m) above sea level on Cougar Mountain. It flows approximately 7 miles (11 km) to the northwest, emptying into Lake Washington at Newport Shores.The surveyors Philip H. Lewis and Edwin Richardson first discovered coal along the creek in 1863. This coal was better located for transport to Seattle than the mines further east at Squak Mountain, and in the 1870s the mining of this coal led to the founding of Newcastle, Washington.

East Renton Highlands is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States, located between Issaquah and Renton. The population was 11,140 at the 2010 census.
