The National Archives of Estonia (NAE, Estonian: Rahvusarhiiv) has been the centre of archival administration in Estonia since 1999.

Korporatsioon Sakala (abbreviated Korp! Sakala) is a fraternal organization of Estonian higher education students. It was established at the University of Tartu on November 14, 1909. The motto of korp! Sakala is One for all, and all for one! Its principles are natio, democratia and fraternitas, which are represented by the colors blue, violet and white as well the main principles of korp! Sakala are national loyalty, patriotism, promoting education, healthy living and physical recreation. The goal of korp! Sakala is to strengthen the academic bonds and support its members both morally and materially. With its activities Sakala intends to improve Estonia’s self-governance, preserve and advance its culture and to support realization of the ideas of democracy. Korp! Sakala's convent house is one of the architectural masterpieces in Tartu, planned by renowned Finnish national architect's Armas Lindgren and Wivi Lönn and completed in 1911. The high ceilings, prominent hall and plenty of space make it ideal for a student corporation. In 1941 the building was hit with a flame bomb and the only thing that survived was the walls. During the Second World War it was used as a medical station and command post. After the war ended, the building was given to the Tartu Art School. Forty years later, the house was returned to Sakala by the municipality and with great effort from Sakala's members and support from abroad, it was finally renovated a couple of years later. During the Soviet annexation of Estonia, korp! Sakala was banned for nearly 50 years. It was officially reinstated with University of Tartu on May 12, 1989.

Kuradisild (Devil's Bridge; originally Aleksandri sild, German: Alexander Brücke, Alexander's Bridge) is a dark concrete bridge located on Toomemägi in Tartu, Estonia, built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov Dynasty in 1913. Kuradisild is one of the few remaining concrete bridges built in early 20th century. It is one of the symbols and landmarks of Tartu alongside Inglisild (Angel's Bridge) located on the other side of Toome Hill. The elegant bridge is supported by two arches. The massive parapet is decorated with ornamental panels and seating recesses. The first bridge located in the place now occupied by Kuradisild was built in 1809. The Neogothic wooden bridge was based on designs by the University of Tartu architect Johann Wilhelm Krause. This bridge was later replaced by a single span wooden bridge designed by J. G. Köningsmann and built in 1842–1844. The current single span concrete bridge was built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty after designs made by Tartu city architect Arved Eichhorn. The Toome Hill side of the bridge is decorated with the numbers 1613 and 1913, commemorating the jubilee; the Toome Valley side of the bridge bears a bronze relief of Alexander I of Russia (made by Constanze von Wetter-Rosenthal) and the words "Alexandro Primo".The bridge is a protected heritage site.

The Estonian Students' Society (Estonian: Eesti Üliõpilaste Selts; commonly used acronym: EÜS) is the largest and oldest all-male academical student society in Estonia, and is similar to the Baltic German student organizations known as corporations (Corps) (not to be confused with US college fraternities). It was founded in 1870 at Tartu. It has over 900 members in Estonia and abroad. In 1881 the Society adopted blue, black and white as its colours. Its first flag was made in 1884 and this tricolour was later (1918) accepted as the National Flag of Estonia. The original flag is still in existence. In the wake of the Estonian national awakening, many young Estonian intellectuals had ties to the EÜS, and the organization had impact beyond its borders. It was instrumental in the founding of the Estonian National Museum in 1909, and the EÜS library was donated to the museum. The Museum was later split into two, and its Archive Library formed the basis of the Estonian Literary Museum. The building of the Estonian Students' Society in Tartu has been considered to be one of the first examples of Estonian national architecture. The Treaty of Tartu between Finland and Soviet Russia was signed in the building in 1920. Former members of the EÜS founded the academic corporations Fraternitas Estica (1907), Sakala (1909) and the association Veljesto.

University of Tartu Natural History Museum (Estonian: Tartu Ülikooli Loodusmuuseum) is a natural history museum in Tartu, Estonia. The museum is affiliated with Tartu University. The museum was established in 1802.The museum has zoological, geological, botanical and mycological collections. The permanent exhibition of the museum is titled as "Earth. Life. Story."

The Supreme Court of Estonia (Estonian: Riigikohus) is the court of last resort in Estonia. It is both a court of cassation and a constitutional court. The courthouse is in Tartu.

Toomemägi (or Toome Hill; Estonian: Toomemägi or Estonian: Toome) is a hill in Tartu, Estonia. Geologically, Toomemägi is part of the Emajõgi's ancient valley. Toomemägi is site of Tartu's beginnings. By the 7th century CE, local inhabitants had built wooden fortifications on the east side of Toomemägi. In medieval times, there was also a bishop's castle. Tartu Cathedral (Estonian: Tartu toomkirik), earlier also known as Dorpat Cathedral (German: Dorpater Domkirche), is a former Catholic church in Tartu (Dorpat), Estonia. The building is now an imposing ruin overlooking the lower town. In the small part of it that has been renovated is now located the museum of the University of Tartu, which the university also uses for major receptions.

Korporatsioon Revelia (also Korp! Revelia) is an all-male fraternity in Estonia. It was founded in 1920.

University of Tartu Museum is the museum for the University of Tartu. Its entities include the University of Tartu Museum in the historic Tartu Cathedral, the University of Tartu Old Observatory, the University of Tartu Natural History Museum, the University of Tartu Botanical Gardens, and the University of Tartu Art Museum.
