Clackamas Town Center

On December 11, 2012, a shooting occurred at the Clackamas Town Center in the relatively urban section of Clackamas County, just outside the city of Portland, Oregon, United States. The gunman, 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Roberts, ran into the shopping center wearing black clothing and a white expressionless facial mask and sporadically opened fire using a Stag Arms AR-15 rifle stolen from a friend. He fired a total of 17 shots, killing two people and seriously wounding a third. Many shots were ricochets. Having attempted to reload his weapon and dropping three magazines, Roberts entered an employee-only back stairwell that runs behind all stores in the mall and committed suicide after descending one level. He had no connection to any of his victims, and it was believed to be a random act of violence.

The Clackamas Town Center Transit Center is a bus transit center and MAX Light Rail station on the MAX Green Line, located in Clackamas County, Oregon, in the southeastern part of the Portland metropolitan area. It is the southern terminus for the I-205 MAX branch. Owned by regional transit agency TriMet, the current transit center opened in 2009 and is located on the east side of the Clackamas Town Center mall, adjacent to Interstate 205. An earlier transit center at the mall had opened in 1981.

La Salle Catholic College Preparatory is a private co-ed Roman Catholic College Preparatory School in Milwaukie, Oregon, near Portland. Under the Archdiocese of Portland, the Brothers of the Christian Schools established La Salle in 1966 as part of their worldwide network of schools. The school has been accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission since 1979.

Clackamas Education Service District is an education service district that coordinates school events and activities throughout the school districts in Clackamas County, Oregon. Clackamas ESD serves the educational needs of students and families in Clackamas County – a geographic area of 1,879 square miles. Clackamas ESD is governed by a citizen-elected Board of Directors and an appointed advisor representing employment training. Five of the Board positions represent geographical zones and two are designated at-large. All members serve four-year terms.

Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center is a not-for-profit, general care hospital in the Sunnyside area of Clackamas County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Opened in 1975, the Kaiser Permanente owned facility is licensed for 233 hospital beds. Located in the Portland metropolitan area along Interstate 205 on the eastside, after Bess Kaiser Hospital in north Portland closed, it was Kaiser's only hospital in the Portland area until Westside Medical Center opened in 2013. The hospital includes Clackamas County's only heart surgery facility.

KPOJ (620 AM) is a radio station serving the Portland metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Oregon and neighboring Washington. It airs a sports format, and is affiliated with Fox Sports Radio. Its transmitter is located in Sunnyside, Oregon, and its studios are in Tigard, Oregon. The station is owned by iHeartMedia.

Southeast Fuller Road is a light rail station on TriMet's MAX Green Line in Portland, Oregon, located between SE 82nd Avenue and Interstate 205. It is the 7th stop southbound on the Interstate 205 MAX branch. The station has a center platform and is surrounded by a park and ride facility. A month before the station went into service, Clackamas County land use planners went public with a proposal to make the area surrounding the station subject to a type of zoning that would be new to the county, one based on a form-based code. Planners think such a change would promote transit-oriented development and a "denser, more vibrant mix of uses in the area", which is currently dominated by surface parking and big-box stores. The station is on the eastern edge of the county's North Clackamas Revitalization Area, an urban renewal district established in 2006.

Sunnyside is a former census-designated place in Clackamas County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Located in the Portland metropolitan area along Interstate 205, the population was 6,791 at the 2000 census. The area was not recorded as a distinct place for the 2010 census.

The Sabin-Schellenberg Center (SSC) is the technical skills center for the North Clackamas School District in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. It encompasses a wide array of topics from cosmetology to information technology, manufacturing/engineering and automotive. The center is very active in SkillsUSA and sends a number of students each year to compete. It is also possible to earn I.T. certifications such as A+, CISCO, RHCE and others. The Sabin-Schellenberg Center also provides low cost services to the community using students in their various technical fields. Inexpensive catering, web design, bulk firewood and automotive repair can all be found at the SSC.

Oregon Iron Works, Inc. (OIW) is an American manufacturer of complex structural components and systems and specialized vehicles, located in the Clackamas area in the southeastern suburbs of Portland, Oregon (within the Portland metropolitan area). Established in 1944, it is involved in a number of different industries, supplying products ranging from high-speed boats for military use to purpose-built girders for roadway bridges. It has production facilities in Clackamas and in Vancouver, Washington, and currently employs about 400 people. In May 2014, the company announced that it was merging with Portland-based Vigor Industrial.
