The Texas Tornado is a steel roller coaster at Wonderland amusement park in Amarillo, Texas. It is the first coaster to be designed by North American water ride company Hopkins Rides. The design for Texas Tornado was scribbled on a napkin at a cocktail party at a trade show.During testing, the loops were reprofiled while retaining their original structures due to the trains being unable to complete the loop. During the park's 2009 winter off-season, the all-white coaster was repainted red, white and blue.

As of the 2016–17 school year, it has 2,075 students.The school was named after Palo Duro Canyon, a canyon system in the Texas Panhandle. Classified as a 5A school by the UIL. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

St. Laurence Catholic Church, formerly St. Laurence Cathedral, is a parish church in the Diocese of Amarillo located in Amarillo, Texas, United States. It served as the cathedral church of the Diocese of Amarillo from 1975 to 2011.

Santa Fe No. 5000 is a 2-10-4 "Texas" type steam locomotive constructed by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1930 for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. No. 5000 was immediately nicknamed the "Madame Queen" and remained a unique member of its own class. It was donated to the City of Amarillo, Texas in 1957 and is currently maintained by the Railroad Artifact Preservation Society. Santa Fe 5000 is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Herring Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in downtown Amarillo, Texas. It was completed in 1926 and was named after the builder and operator, Cornelius Taylor Herring (1849–1931). The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 2024.

The Amarillo Civic Center is a multi-purpose convention center in Amarillo, Texas. It consists of multiple facilities including: A 2,848-seat auditorium with 2,324 permanent seats used for concerts, Broadway shows and other events. The Cal Farley Coliseum, a 4,987-seat multi-purpose arena serving as home to the Amarillo Wranglers of the North American Hockey League and the Amarillo Venom of Champions Indoor Football. The arena, which has 4,879 permanent seats, is also used for concerts, banquets, conventions, ice shows, wrestling and trade shows (the arena features 17,100 square feet (1,590 m2) of floor space). The arena measures 38' 10 from floor to rafters, 50'10 from floor to ceiling. A 16,000-square-foot (1,500 m2) grand plaza, designed as a tribute to Texas and seating up to 1,100 for smaller concerts, banquets, and other special events. It contains a Texas-accented floor, skylight ceiling, and fountains and planters. Two exhibit halls, the North which has 24,565 square feet (2,282 m2) of exhibit space, used for trade shows, conventions, meetings and banquets (capacity is up to 2,200) and with a 25-foot (8 m) ceiling height; and a 26,000-square-foot (2,400 m2), 14-foot (4 m) South Exhibit Hall, also used for similar events. Three meeting rooms—the Heritage, Hospitality, and Regency rooms.There is a memorial statue of the Space Shuttle commander Rick Husband, one of the city's most famous sons, in front of the building.

The J. Marvin Jones Federal Building and Mary Lou Robinson United States Courthouse, formerly known as the Amarillo U.S. Post Office and Courthouse, is a courthouse of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas built in Amarillo, Texas in 1937. It reflects Art Deco architecture and Moderne architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. In addition to its continuous use as a courthouse, it has served as a post office, as a customhouse, and as a government office building.It was renamed for U.S. Court of Claims judge John Marvin Jones in 1980, and was renamed the J. Marvin Jones Federal Building and Mary Lou Robinson United States Courthouse in 2018 in honor of federal judge Mary Lou Robinson.

The Potter County Courthouse is a government building for Potter County, located in the county seat of Amarillo, Texas. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 22, 1996.

Amarillo Lake, also known as Wildhorse Lake is a lake located in northern Amarillo, Texas. The reservoir is situated on the south side of Interstate 40 (and the historic Route 66). The city of Amarillo was originally constructed around the lake.
